By 1762, Sinjun is better known as Lord Sin for his wild womanizing ways. He has not seen his bride since she kicked him at the altar fifteen years ago. Christy relishes her marriage because she is able to run the clan without the interference of a spouse. That changes when another chieftain Calum demands she annul her vows and marry him. Instead, of succumbing to Calum's pressure, Christy, masquerading as Flora, finds her spouse and seduces him in order to become pregnant with an heir. However, Flora and Lord Sin fall in love, but how will he react when he learns about the ruse his own wife pulled off on him?
A TASTE OF SIN is an entertaining historical romance that takes readers on a wild twisting ride through mid-eighteenth century Scotland. The lead couple is a finely developed duo whose lovemaking heats the pages. The supporting characters provide the depth and intrigue that bring out the period. Best-selling author Connie Mason opens her new series with a passionate exciting Highlander romance.

Fifteen years later, there is unrest among the clans. Calum Cameron ruled the Cameron clan. He intended to have Christy and Sinjun's marriage annulled, claim Christy as his wife, and become Laird through the marriage. Then war with the English will begin anew. To stop this, Christy went to London as Lady Flora Randall to seduce her husband. With his bairn in her belly she could return to Glenmoor in triumph! Glenmoor would have an heir, Sinjun would never know Flora had really been his wife and he would live happily in London unawares, and Calum's plans would be thwarted.
All went as planned until a pregnant Christy returned home to Glenmoor. Then it all fell to pieces!
*** First of a new trilogy! Each will have their own story. This one was MOST EXCELLENT! Connie Mason has never let me down and is still a "A BOOK WRITING WOMAN" as my mother would say. That is her highest compliment and is seldom given. Lord Sin is as handsome and sinful as they come. Christy is more than his match too. Highly recommended reading! ***

First off I have to say great cover! And Where can I get a man like that? Oh My! "Fanning myself"
Well on to the story. I would almost call this book gothic. It has a dark manor house that is haunted by a beautiful spirit Lady Amelia. She is trying to insure the that Jackson Greystoke doesn't drink, game and carouse himself to death. He is a rogue who needs taming. In steps our heroine Moria O'Toole. She is on the run from a dark secret when she is hit by the carriage that Jackson is riding in. He can't just leave her there do die so he takes her back to the manor. Now as she heals they discover the strong attraction between the two. They both try and resist but the fates or is that the spirits have willed it. But before they can be happy there is Moria's secret to deal with and Jackson's own fears of marriage and love.
There are some very hot love scenes in this book but what would a Connie book be without them? I really enjoyed this book and plan to reread it again and again.

"my lady vixen" is actually told in two books and it's best to view the book this way. our hero, adam foxworth, is a nobelman who is hell bent on revenge and sees alexa ashley as his instrument to achieve this revenge. Kidnapping her and forcing her to become his mistress starts this unique, if odd, tale off.
this work travels across the atlantic several times as Alexa and Adam meet and part several times. The fox, a pirate fighting the british, vies with adam for alexa's heart.
As i said i felt like this was two entirely different books in one work. adam foxworth wavers continually through this book from a loving, aminable person to a vicious, coldhearted jerk. He repeatedly attacks alexa sexually with a few disturbing scenes that are played down to a huge degree which left a unrealistic flavor in the book. The "plot twists" are not particularly earth shattering or original. you see them coming miles away.
The general storyline is interesting and keep me involved in the book but alexa's stint as vixen was probably the most interesting part of the book. before that she is so weighed down and domnated by various men even i felt like screaming. i think a great book is in here somewhere but it's so bogged down by weird character reversals that it's hard to find.
for a fun read on some lazy afernoon i give this a thumbs up but for being a book i'll keep around for awhile i have to say check out something else.
This book is actually written in two sections. In the first we meet our hero Adam, who is very bitter over what our heroine's father did to his many years back. He is out for revenge. He kidnaps Alexa, placing her aboard a ship captained by the Fox, who is a masked man and he ends up taking her innocence. He leaves her to Adam who also beds her and leaves her in ruins and then leaves her in England while he goes back to his life in America. Alexa is ruined and now pregnant and Mac, Adams friend takes her to Adam. They marry but soon trouble begins. Adam is actually the Fox, who has been aiding the American's in thier fight for freedom from Britian and Alexa is taken prisoner as a traitor for harboring the Fox. She is rescued by the Fox and is totally suprised to find that the Fox and her husband are the same man. She decides right then and there to aid her new country and fool Adam/Fox as well. He leaves her again and she becomes the Vixen. This is where the second part of the book begins. She trains to fight and sail and soon has her own ship and is terrorizing the British as the Vixen on her ship "My Lady Vixen" When the Fox and the Vixen finally meet it is explosive. But the story doesn't end there. There are more troubles ahead and it will take a long while before the two lovers to find happiness.
I would recommend this to book to anyone. Keep up the good work Connie!

I also enjoyed the political conflicts of this book concerning the MAGNA CARTA & King John Lackland. He's so overbearing, false-hearted & devious. His betraying ways is so unpredictable that it scares the heck out of me! He is capable of almost anything and have the power to achieve it too. This is the added thrill to the story.
I notice a slight anachronism in terms of the dialogue but it's not excessive to distract me. I manage to by pass that flaw only because overall, this book is both sugar and spice. It's fast, funny, exciting & heart warming. One you shouldn't miss. Thank you, Ambrangel for suggesting this book to me.

Heroine was too boring and the hero was too broody and 'baggage carrying' for my tastes. This one fell flat in the sand...
Lady Christa Horton became a helpless prisoner in an exotic and troublesome land, destined for slavery in the bey's harem until fate stepped in in the image of the elusive Desert Hawk.
Hawk took what he wanted, always. This was no different. Wanted and chased all across Algiers, he made the sultan angry with his attacks on caravans. But the Hawk was no thief, he had motive.
This was revenge.
He just didn't expect a lady like Christa to be thrown into the dangerous game. Well, he wanted her and he took her.
The well-bred English lady finds herself caught up in a deadly game of cat and mouse but she can't help but yearn for the dangerous man playing the game.
Kismet? You decide....

This is a wonderful tale of danger and scandal. The hero, Gabriel the Marquis of Bathurst has just been robbed at gunpoint by the most intriguing highwayman. He can't get the robbers emerald eyes out of his mind but when he finds out his highwayman is the Hellion Olivia Fairfax he is thrown for a loop. Olivia has taken to a life of crime in order to survive. She is daring and strong willed but when Gabriel takes her in his arms she finds herself vulnerable. The two almost burn up in each others arms. But there are obsticals standing in the path to thier happiness. Overcoming them is no easy task but one they will embark on together.
There are wonderful supporting characters that add to the fun of this book. Also Connie promises that two of these characters will get their own books. I really enjoyed this book and eagerly await her next book.
Olivia Fairfax stole only from those who could more than afford it. If she and her partner did not steal, her family members would starve and her brother (who had NO idea what she was up to) would be thrown out of school. Not to mention their home was in dire need of repairs. But thanks to her deceased father, there was no money for anything. In addition to all these worries, she had a few more. Olivia was considered firmly on the shelf, yet Lord Palmerson was determined they would wed before her upcoming twenty-fifth birthday. Olivia was just as determined she would never marry the awful man!
***** Author Connie Mason pleases readers again with this, her latest master piece! Clearly Palmerson was the villain, however, the plot thickens when he gets an assistant to help him. Be sure to begin reading only when you are sure you will have plenty of time to devote to your reading habit., because you will not want to stop for a long time. This plot is down-right addictive! *****

Sam is, of course, a wanted man, so he goes to Texas and finds work at the B&G ranch, and finds that his wife of six years, Lacey, is the owner. He thinks that Lacey betrayed him during the war and she thinks that he abandoned her for 6 years without ever letting her know he was alive. Sam also finds that Lacey has a son Andy who he refuses to believe is his and Lacey won't give him a strait answer about Andy's parentage. Throw in some misunderstandings, a suitor who wants to marry Lacey for her land, and some Indians and you have this novel.
Yes we know Sam thinks Lacey betrayed him and that Lacey is mad at Sam. Yada yada yada. They didn't have to harp on it constantly. Secondly, very coincidental things happened that created misunderstandings added to the fact that our hero and heroine didn't communicate with of confide in each other until after a mess had been created. When none of this was going on there was sex. Misunderstanding, anger, fight, sex. It was a cycle that repeated itself over and over. I found myself flipping through the book reading as fast as I can so I could simply make it to the reunion at the end.
The reunion was good and I was glad to see Rafe, Angel, Jess, and Meg again and that they all turned out happily ever after. The end is the main reason I would read this book. I really hope that Ms. Mason's next is better and am extremely disappointed in this one.
This is the third and final part of the Outlaw series. The two other brothers, Rafe and Jess, have found wonderful brides who can be gentle and strong at the same time and who have lead them on merry chases. Well Sam already had a bride but told no one of her. They met during the Civil War and were lost to each other soon after marrying. They were betrayed but Sam blames Lacey for it all and Lacey is told that Sam was killed in the war. Sam shows up to work on a ranch and finds that Lacey is the owner. But that's not the biggest suprise, he finds that she has a son who he believes to be the one she had with the man who betrayed him. She knows that her son is Sam's but she is so afraid that he will take him from her she doesn't tell him. She is engaged to marry another man but only to save her ranch. Sam throws a wrench into her plans but she soon discovers that she loves that wrench. Sam struggles with his feelings for her and for the boy who even though there is still a lingering doubt of his parentage, he is starting to love and consider his own.
There are a couple of obsticals in Sam's way though of claiming Lacey and her son, the warrent for his arrest for bank robbery is one, even though he knows he is innocent, and the man who Lacey was to marry. He must fight all of this to win her back.
I loved this book and was so happy to find out how the other brothers were doing at the end also. Connie makes her characters seem like part of your own family. I would highly recommend this book as well as anything else she has written. You'll love them.
