I have a copy of charles and diana
Can anyone tell me what this book is worth

DEFINITELY NOT A KISS AND TELL BOOK LIKE SO MANY OTHERS
I FOUND THIS BOOK WHILE ON A HOLIDAY TO CANADA...I WAS LOOKING FOR SOMETHING FUN AND LIGHT TO READ A BREAK FROM THE NORM. I THOUGHT THAT THIS MIGHT BE A "TELL ALL" THAT WOULD PROBABLY LEAVE ME FLAT AND WISHING THAT I HAD NOT SPENT THE TIME. NOT FOR A MINUTE. THIS BOOK, (SORRY TO HEAR THAT IT IS OUT OF PRINT, ALL THE MORE REASON TO WATCH FOR IT) IS A VERY INTELLIGENT OVER VIEW OF BOTH OF THE "HOUSES" OF WINDSOR AND SPENCER WITH A HEAVY LEANING TOWARDS THE HISTORY OF BOTH WHICH GIVES THE READER MUCH MORE TO DIGEST AND THUS UNDERSTAND MANY OF THE FRAILITIES OF THE ROYALS. BEFORE READING THIS BOOK, I WAS RESERVED IN MY OPINIONS OF CHARLES. RATHER JADED IN MY ASSESSMENT OF "WHO" HE IS. BUT NOW, I HAVE A DIFFERENT RESPECT AND UNDERSTANDING ABOUT THE COMPASSIONATE PERSON THAT HE IS. I THINK THAT GIVEN THE RIGHT CIRCUMSTANCES, HE WOULD MAKE A EXCELLNENT MONARCH IN TODAY'S WORLD. IN THIS BOOK, HE DEMONSTRATES THAT HE DOES HAVE A COMPASSIONATE HEART AND IS MORE THAN WILLING TO GET OUT TO THE PEOPLE TO FIND OUT WHAT REAL LIFE SOLUTIONS ARE NEEDED. HE DOES HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR AND IS QUITE INTELLIGENT AND INTUITIVE WITH REGARD TO WHAT IS RIGHT. I FEEL THAT THIS BOOK IS DEFINITELY MORE OF A "HISTORY" BOOK THAN THAT OF A GOSSIPY READ LIKE SO MANY THAT ARE FOCUSED ON THE TALES AND HEAR SAY OF THE WRITER, SOLD ONLY BY THE SENSATIONALISM THEY CREATE. THIS IS NOT AN ANDREW MORTON "DIANA" BOOK NOR IS IT A "FERGIE" BIO BOOK....IT IS TIME WELL SPENT AND I AM GLAD THAT I DID. LOOK FOR IT!

Ernst & Young's Personal Financial Planning Guide - 3rd Edit
As a tax professional and tax educator, I recognized many years ago that tax & financial illiteracy is a major problem amongst taxpayers. For example, consider: 1. how many wage-earners do not even understand all the deductions posted on their pay statements -- or that net pay is not the same as taxable income; or 2. how many people do not understand that the basic tax equation is "tax liability = tax base x tax rate" -- and that tax rate alone is not enough information to calculate one's tax liability; or 3. how many people think capital gains taxes paid are a "bad thing" -- when in fact, they are frequently a "subsidy" provided to wealthier taxpayers at the expense of wage-earners; or 4. how many people are eligible for some form of deferred compensation [401(k)plan, 403(b) plan etc] but they either do not participate or do not participate fully; etc, etc, etc.

In an effort to promote "Basic Tax Literacy," I highly recommend the EY-PFP Guide as a highly accessible & understandable guide for teens and above. This book makes a wonderful gift for all life events -- coming of age ceremonies, graduations, marriage, birth of child, divorce, mid-life crisis, pre-retirement, retirement. It could even serve as a textbook for certain courses and seminars.

E&Y Personal Financial Planning Guide(3rd ed.)- a good tool
This 3rd edition is a useful tool for people who are either starting to understand personal financial planning or those who have years of practical experience but want the latest information available. Complex concepts are explained clearly and concisely. There are no major gaps in the information provided. The book is well organized. Part II which uses a life-event approach to financial planning will be most helpful for people beginning to understand personal financial planning or facing a major life-event.

I enjoyed reading the book and found it filled with exactly the information I was seeking to improve my own personal financial planning. The format was very understandable and will allow me to continue using the book as a reference.

Absolutely Superb!!!
The words of 1998 MacArthur Fellow Charles Johnson's ccoupled with the poignant photographs of Bob Adelman climax in this excellent literary work that chronicles the life and legacy of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The wonderful photographs and literary prose compliment each other beautifully throughout this masterpiece, detailing the life and democratic stuggles of King. Beginning from the early childhood of Mr. King to his untimely death,
Adelman's photographs depict a very young King with his family. It provides insight into his his upbringing and illustrates the foundation that culminates into the life of the great civil rights leader. It continues to depict his educational pursuits and ultimate marriage to the lovely Coretta Scott.

The books carries the reader through the voyage as a young King rises to prominence as a preacher, his continued quest for racial equality, and mainly
his persistent call for agapic love in conjunction with nonviolence. Also, shared in this tome is intimate photographs of King's time spent with his loving family and information about King's life that may not be well-known.

Although nearly 300-pages, this book capitvates the reader from cover to cover. All in all, Johnson and Adelman are to be commended for their efforts! This liteary piece is nothing short of superb!

A Photo Spectacular
I have many photography books in my personal collection, and I have several on the civil rights movement, but this book is by far the best I have seen. The book combines the work of several photographers - including Alfred Eisenstadt, Charles Moore, Henri Cartier Bresson, plus some lesser knowns - who have been individually recognized for their own work. The photographs are a true documentary of Martin Luther King's life and death with many photos I have never seen before.

Little Poems in Prose

Onward Motion
Charles Baudelaire, in his Little Poems in Prose--at least in this translation, I may say--, speaks as if he were thrown into a wind of excitement and enthusiasm in one whirl of experience, and then, no sooner does he do so, that he is ready to move on, and experience something else.

I find thst this book is published no where else at this present time, than through the Teitan Press; Crowley has some poems in translation of Baudelaire in his Collected Works, but this present edition (Little Poems in Prose) is all in prose. Thus, it is contained no where else, as yet.

Exquisite Miniatures
Baudelaire's Petite Poèmes en prose was published posthumously in 1869 and was later, as intended by the author, entitled Le Spleen de Paris. Baudelaire did not live long enough to bring these poems together in a single volume, but it is clear from his correspondence that the work he envisaged was both a continuation of, and a radical departure from, Les Fleurs du mal.

Some of the texts may be regarded as authentic poems in prose, while others are closer to exquisite miniature prose narratives. The setting is primarily urban, with the focus on crowds and the suffering lives they contain: a broken-down street acrobat (Le Vieux Satimbanque), a hapless street trader (Le Mauvais Vitrier), the poor staring at the wealthy in their opulent cafés (Le Vieux des pauvres), the deranged (Mademoisele Bistouri) and the derelict (Assommons les pauvres!), and, in the final text (Les Bon Chiens), the pariah dogs that scurry and scavenge through the streets of Brussels.

Not only is the subject matter of the prose poems essentially urban, but the form itself, "musical but without rhythm and rhyme, both supple and staccato," is said to derive from "frequent contact with enormous cities, from the junction of their innumerable connections."

In its deliberate fragmentation and its merging of the lyrical with the sardonic, Le Spleen de Paris may be regarded as one of the earliest and most successful examples of a specifically urban writing, the textual equivalent of the city scenes of the Impressionists, embodying in its poetics of sudden and disorienting encounter that ambiguous "heroism of modern life" that Baudelaire celebrated in his art criticism.

A Picture Book of Martin Luther King, Jr
Published in Hardcover by Live Oak Media (1998)
Authors: David A. Adler, Robert Casilla, and Charles Turner
Amazon base price: $25.95

History in pictures
Filled with teachings of peacefully protesting fair laws for all people, David
Adler gives us a picture book of Martin Luther King, Jr. In it, he shares the
early life of MLK Jr, his young experiences with racism and segregation and on
to his dreams as well as highlights some of his well-known protests. In these
protests, he speaks of a world free of hate, prejudice and violence.

This book is a great lesson in history for our children and also covers a few
other events in the plight for civil rights. Casilla's illustrations do a
decent job of giving us a pictorial view of the events chronicling King's life.

Excellent first biography
The entire "A picture book of..." biography series byDavid Adler is outstanding. Perfect for lower elementary studentsdoing their first real report. Makes a great read-aloud for non-readers as they are easily completed in one sitting. They are loaded with information including a timeline of important dates. The illustrations in this book are not cartoon-like as in his other biographies of Washington or Lincoln, but are appealing to young children.

A Great Desk Reference
This is a perfect book for someone to keep as a desk reference for the personality types. I found the information very valuable even though I own most other books on this subject. It is an outstanding reference for the types in an organizational setting.

Comprehensive and Concise---Perfect for Organizations
I found this booklet to be of extreme value compared to similar products. I used to buy a whole text to give to my clients before this came along. It contains some of the best material I have seen on the Myers-Briggs types. The fact that it has so many great contributors is a value-add. I would recommend this booklet to anyone using Myers-Briggs types in a professional setting. The booklet covers multiple topics including leadership, career development, creativity, stress, problem-solving, personal development, and learning. At first I was overwhelmed with the page count for the types, but after reading the content I was pleasantly excited and couldn't wait to show them to my customers. The book also includes some interesting new information about a new model---MTR-i---which is a team role model based on Jungian type. A very good value for the low price.

elegant essays by eisele covering an array of subjects.
Carolyn Eisele writes perceptive and engaging essays on Peirce's work in mathematics. The book is well illustrated, and covers a range of topics. Peirce's mountain climbing in the world of mathematics is exhilerating; the connection between his logical and epistimological work very suggestive.

Inquiry
I do want to read this book, but it is not available this moment. Is the author Pierce,C.S.(1839-1914) of "Collected Papers".Sometimes the readers in China are quite confused about the name, since there seems many Pierce.

Wonderfully illustrated. Enjoyable. My child loves it.
The book is wonderfully illustrated. The cover itself catches the potential reader. It is truly an enjoyable read with an innovative story. My child loves it.

Whale Comedian...excellent reading for children
As a mother of 5 children, I'm always on the look out for good children's books...I found that and more in the book entitled THE WHALE COMEDIAN by Martin Nelson Burton. The story of little Finston and how his dreams were realized, is done in a clever and funny way. The illustrations (by Charles Jordon) are some of the best I've seen in a children's book....very colorful with lots of expression and detail. There is nothing commerical about this book. A story of a little boy with a big dream and how it is realized. It can make your children believe that they can be anything they want in life...whether it be a store clerk, a scientist that gives people superpowers, or even a whale comedian.

A visual treat for all music lovers
Beginning with 16th C Spanish vihuelas, the authors take a pictorial tour of the rich history of the acoustic guitar. In addition to the unbelievable number of pictures (especially of early guitars), the authors also describe innovations by many modern, independent luthiers such as Thomas Humphrey. Additionally, the reader is exposed to fine works by British luthiers. My only minor reservation with any book like this is the "scope/page" ratio...can 500 years of history be covered in 158 pages? The authors do a remarkable job covering the key historical events in the evolution of the guitar. Interested readers will find additional info in the rich bibliography and discography(!). All and all, a marvelous book for anyone interested in the history and evolution of musical instruments...both to read and admire the fine pictures.
