Lucius had never met a more proud woman that Aurora of the gods. At first believing that Aurora was sent by his enemies to bring down Rome, Lucius is cautious. As time goes on, Lucius believes the unbelievable story of crossing through time. For surely no woman of Rome would ever challenge him as much as the firey haired goddess that he desires. Together, Lucius and Aurora try to compromise his demand for constant obidience and her demand for respect, regardless of who he is.
Somewhere in Time is a sweet story between these two people who love each other enough to overcome the obstacles that they run into. The only thing that I didn't like was the ending. I believe that Luke wouldn't have surivied in the twentieth century because he is used to constant obidience from everyone he commands. He would not know how to survive in this world where he has to take orders from a woman. Other than that, it is great and I recommend that you pick it up!

That being said, I love stories that tie together (series), and this is a pretty good series. Good light summer reading.
Merline Lovelace does a fantastic job balancing spy action and romance. I'll pick up anything with her name on it. Dangerous to Hold and Dangerous to Know are re-released compilations of her previous books (although they still work, unlike so many dated MIRA books).
Since some descriptions of this novel have already been written, I'll just add that the next compilation will include UNDERCOVER MAN (Doc's story) and PERFECT DOUBLE (Maggie and Adam's story). Trust me, you DO NOT want to miss that!!!! You can check out those books' reviews if you just can't wait till June for some hints.

Convicted felon Ryan McMann is out on probation. All he wants his to finish his two months and get out of Alabama. The thought of a murder investigation doesn't sit well with him, but the thought of pretty Major Samuels is a different story.
Together Carly and Ryan must find the murderer and fight their growing attraction to eachother.
This is the second book I've read by Merline Lovelace and I thought it was very good.
Carly's dedication to her career as an Air Force attorney forces her into close contact with Ryan, a beautiful, blue-eyed former hockey player who was a witness to a murder Carly is required to investigate. Despite Ryan's refusal to reveal details about himself or the murder he witnessed, Carly discovers enough information about Ryan and the murder to find herself immersed in a rising river of flood waters and a rising tide of love and lust which threaten to overcome her.
As an Air Force attorney, I can vouch for the accuracy of Ms. Lovelace's legal detail. As a University of Vermont graduate, I can appreciate her acknowledgement of my alma mater's athletic prowess. But most importantly, as a woman, I can vouch for the fun and exciting read Ms. Lovelace presents. The mystery is interesting, the characters passionate and the plot fast-moving. As Debbie Macomber says, "Each new book is an enjoyable adventure."

"If A Man Answers" was obviously well researched, and I give Ms. Lovelace full points for setting the scene. There were some good moments, no doubt about it - but ultimately this book isn't going to be a keeper.

One night following a particularly long and loud bout of ear splitting music, Molly called her neighbor to complain - yet again. However, Molly mistakenly dialed the wrong number and instead of talking to her neighbor, she listened in horror while the man who answered the phone was interrupted by a "visitor" who then shot him to death. Still not realizing that she had reached the wrong number, Molly called 911 to report that her neighbor, Sam Henderson, had been shot. The police arrive, wake up her perfectly fine (though royally miffed) neighbor, and the story takes off from there.
Unknown to Molly, Sam is recovering from an accident that occurred when he ejected from an F15 and his head hit the faulty canopy. As a result of his injury, Sam experiences severe headaches that prevent him from flying and threaten to end his career. Refusing to take any of the variety of pain medications that he has been given, Sam deals with the pain by working out until he is exhausted while listening to his favorite country western music. Following Molly's ill-fated wrong number telephone call, she and Sam seem to be thrown together, literally, and their attraction to each other and growing admiration for each other overcome their previous, instantaneous dislike. They seem ill suited to one another, but as you read through the story it's really difficult to imagine them apart or with anyone else. Other characters in the book like Molly's boss, Davinia, and Antonio, her boyfriend and husband in training number 4, provide the perfect contrast to the two main characters as they attempt to solve a murder and prevent Molly from becoming the next victim.
I just couldn't put this book down. I laughed, and cringed, and worried, and sighed ... well, it was just a great read, and I HIGHLY recommend it!!!

Josiah Jones was a bear of a man - certainly nothing like the mere boys who'd paid court to Tatiana as Countess Karanova. This man personified the wild, untamed lands that called to her own unhappy soul.
Tatiana brought something new to the California wilderness - a cool aristocratic beauty and courage enough to match any man's. But Josiah was a mountain man with a broken heart. He knew such a jewel could never share his wanderlust or his life - especially if she discovered his secret...

to her at the local mission go unanswered. So, taking the situation full under her own steam, she marches out to a local brothel and finds a sea captain--almost willing to leave to help her out. They set sail. And he sees more than a customer in the lovely young lass. But she's determined to keep on track, finding her father even though... Well. Don't want to spoil it. This is
a casual story in beginning only, that builds pace fast with worthy characters and heated twists and turns.
Doc, the quiet genius of the group, is a whiz at making lists and planning for all eventualities. His ability to do so allows him to lead a double life as a world-renowned electronics expert and a spy for OMEGA, a top-secret agency. So he sees no trouble in traveling to Cannes with his partner Maggie, taking care of some OMEGA business, and flying his docile fiancee out for their wedding a couple of days after that. After all, he left her detailed instructions...
Little does he know that his simple and sweet Paige has thrown out all his lists, and is already on her way to Cannes to meet him. She still loves David, but just can't help feeling he's never quite himself with her, always holding some things back. She has decided to give him one more chance and, if they can't resolve this, she'll return his engagement ring.
Before she can meet him, however, she runs into a friendly American who takes her on a shopping spree that turns Paige from girl-next-door to slinky seductress. And that's when the trouble starts. What ensues is a case of mistaken identity, stolen technology, a mysterious buyer, a street-smart orphan and a high-priced callgirl. Oh, and Paige and David still have to have that talk...
This book is great. I would have given it 4 1/2 stars if I could. In fact, the only reason I didn't think it rated five stars was because I read the next book in the series, PERFECT DOUBLE, before I read this one. Even in this work, there were times when I felt Maggie got dangerously close to stealing the show. So, I recommend that (unlike me) you read the books in order.
