Wonderful book for your favorite christmas songs
These arrangements for christmas piano music is great. I finally have piano students who are able to learn these great songs. Most of the songs are either 3 or 4 pages long, and they sound wonderful during the holidays. The level is intermediate/late intermediate. Some songs are easier than others, so in a few christmas's you should be able to learn the whole book. Enjoy!

Finedon otherwise Thingdon

Average review score:

Finedon a Town With a History
Although this book may seem at first glance to be only of interest to the people of Finedon, those with an interest in history will find this a facinating tomb, the book starts with the evidence of "Finedon man" of the neolithic age and traces it's history through it's wealthy times as the largest incumbancy in the UK,along with details of the Hall and it's residents. Finedon boasts the oldest licensed public house in England. The doomsday book mentions Finedon as being owned by Queen Edith, the book relates how a Queen Edith cross ends up as hardcore for the Bell Inn car park. The history of all areas of the town are covered in great and facinating detail, there are a few pictures in the book which would be of interest to hisorians, but if you like historical pictures the follow up book by John Bailey "Finedon Revealed"is a must. Should you like to see some extracts from both "Finedon otherwise Thingdon" and "Finedon Revealed" go to the "Finedon Web Page".

hey
Im a teenager who happens to have a liking of philosophy,so, in response, i was given a copy of this book by my world history teacher. It amused with the various types of thought compounded in this anthology. It views the thoughts of many philosophers through a religious context(as the title notes). Noticable names are missing though, such as Immanuel Kant and russell. But was made up for by the views of lesser known philosohers. I dont what else say.Well actually i do, but my friends are rushing me off.

Introduction to Analysis of the Infinite, Book II
Published in Hardcover by Springer Verlag (1990)
Authors: Leonard Euler, John D. Blanton, and Leonhard Euler
Amazon base price: $79.95

Review
John D. Blanton did a good job in translating Euler's work on analysis of the infinite. Although I did not read the original copy the book, I could still receive the charm of Euler from the translation. Euler wrote this book because he realized that many mathematics students were lacking of the knowledge of analysis of the infinite. He, as a great master of mathematics and educator and with all his passion, presented this timeless masterpiece to all of us. I recommend this book to every students who want to excel in mathematics!

John Africain Goes West

JOHN AFRICAIN GOES WEST
I rate this book 5 stars because of the excellent feedback I have had from tens of readers who say that they have been blessed by reading it. It is a true story of a man who is still alive and has faith in God. Every event there was a true happening. The events there do not only depict real life situations that John went through, it showed how God came consistently through to help him in answer to prayer. He did not sugar-coat his situations, especially those in which he experienced real suffering but told it like it is. The result is an interesting story with a lot of background stuff based on John's culture in West Africa. Reading through the book, you cannot help, but accept that faith in God really works. You will suddenly be struck with the realization that miracles really do happen today. In fact the miracles experienced by John were of Biblical proportions. Read it yourself, and you'd agree with me.

The book charts John's life from birth, through elementary and high School, to University degree and postgraduate life. It tells his story at work. It charts his life from a rural West African setting through the urban conorbations of his country, to cities in Europe. Charting his life alone provides an interesting story, but following the breath-taking miracles he had, is even more interesting.

Read it. You'll find your self zealously recommending it to your friend. You will agree with me that it is a 5 star book. It is an extra-ordinary type of biography! The style is easy for any reader.

John Sebastian Teaches Blues Harmonica: A Complete Guide for Beginners (Listen & Learn)
Published in Paperback by Hal Leonard (1997)

Excellent for beginner and intermediate harmonica...
John Sebastion's book/CD should be on the syllabus of every beginning and intermediate harmonica player.

John describes the basics -- single notes, bending, chords -- as good as other books. And I like John's simple delivery. But what sets this book apart are some of the intermediate topics -- a fox run chug, some of the solo techniques, and the chord-single-note song techniques. I particularly liked the intro and outro -- songs I am memorizing now which I never thought I could play. It's a blues / hobo harmonica style which I just love.

I recommend this, in conjunction with Jon Gindick's Rock N' Blues Harmonica book/CD as the 2 best instructional material for aspiring harmonica players.

Artists in Exile
John Virtue has done a splendid job in researching, writing and assembling this highly readable and beautifully conceived volume--part biography, part art book, part history. In Leonard and Reva Brooks: Artists in Exile in San Miguel de Allende, he has recorded the lives of two fascinating individuals who chose to settle in this small Mexican art community in 1947 and has shed light on the Mexican and Canadian art scene of the time. In addition, he has created a moving portrait of the expatriate community and life in this unique Mexican town. (San Miguel de Allende should award him the keys to the city.)
