exciting crime thriller
Newspaper columnist Neil Gulliver and soap opera queen and theatre actress Stevie Marriner were once married. Now that they are divorced they have a much better relationship in every sense of the word. A retired mobster gives Neil and Stevie a suite of eleven Andy Warhol prints, each one containing a painting and the artist who owns it.

Shortly after, the couple is asked to meet an old friend and two of his guests who turn out to be Mossad agents. They tell Stevie and Neil that the Nazis confiscated the paintings from Jews who rightfully owned them. They're also informed that there was supposed to be a twelfth print but it has gone missing. Some of the people in the paintings are dead and the paintings have disappeared. Neil smells a big story and Stevie wants to be a part of the investigation since she owns half the prints. As usual Neil and Stevie are going against some very dangerous characters who have killed before and have no compunction against killing again.

HOT PAINT, the latest episode in the Neil Gulliver and Stevie Marriner mystery series, is an exciting crime thriller that plays out on many levels. The protagonists steal the show with their offbeat yet genuine relationship and the way they work as a team when the chips are down making this reviewer think there is hope for a reconciliation. Robert R. Levinson has written a strong story that links present day crimes to those committed during World War II.

Mexican "Dichos" Dispense Bite-Sized Words of Folk Wisdom
This slim, nicely organized collection of Mexican sayings (or "dichos Mexicanos") made a nice addition to my writer's library. I collect many resource books that help me add flavor and accuracy to my fiction and poetry writing. This book pulls together many wonderful aphorisms from Mexican culture and gives them to you in both English and Spanish. The categories include sayings about love, philosophy, religion, animals, and others. Dichos such as, "Old is the sun and it still shines," or "It was your fortune to have a wagon, now drag it," make you smile while offering ancient truths. This is an enjoyable and educational collection that you will come back to time and time again.

A Treasure for Keeping
I bought this book as a keeper because I was told it was a pretty extensive offering of the collection. Yes, it is that but it is also beautiful laid out and with just enough text for the interested.

If you are looking for a book to educate you on the less seen objects of the collection this is the one to have. An excellent addition to a Buckingham Palace guide.

The Search for Sunken Treasure
"The Search for Sunken Treasure" is a classic Bob Marx book. Sir Robert has been known as "Numero Uno" in the treasure hunting fraternity for the past forty years, and this book shows why he has been and is "Numero Uno". Marxs' first hand experience as the foremost underwater archaeologist are evident in this discription of the more famous shipwrecks of modern times and the men who search for and find and salvage these time capsules. The book holds ones attention, and once started, will not be set down until finished. It is history that is interesting and exciting. A must for all who enjoy the sea, a must for all who enjoy treasure, a must for all who enjoy the excitement of the search.

Excellent telling of Mel Fisher's hunt for the Atocha
I am VERY interested in Mel Fisher's hunt for the Spanish Galleon Atocha sunk in 1622. Believe me, this is the most interesting book on the subject. You won't be able to put it down. The story of the galleon's journey and shipwreck is also told. A fascinating story well told.

Murder and Mayhem and Maurading Pirates.
This wonderfully crafted edition of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic adventure story is great for any serious reader of classic literature. It's also great for kids. Who can ever forget Jim Hawkins, Long John Silver, or Ben Gunn or the unique bond that forms between the wise youth (Hawkins) and experienced seaman (Silver)? Murder on the high seas. Violent battles on an island full of treasure. People who actually talk the way real people talk. It's all here and more. TREASURE ISLAND is one of my favorite Stevenson stories and I highly reccommend it.
