This book is so full of common sense wisdom that you may wonder why you haven't heard it all before. Yet the approach is unique, especially on dealing with addictions. Also, the use of client generated metaphors and imbedded suggestions is very well explained and interesting. I probably have enjoyed this book as much as any on hypnosis. Very enlightening!

The chapter on addiction was unique. The approach taken about the addiction fad was different than other books I have read on the subject. While the book covers a wide range of hypnotherapy topics, including a very good chapter on metaphors as client controlled, the chapter on addictions alone would have made the book worthwile. It is a must read, and was a pleasant surprise to me-much more than I expected!

A good treatise to help understand the very bases of hypno- therapeutic possibilities to help the patients. More a mature way of unserstanding than an elementary book for learning.

I've always read above my age level and some of them are confusing and I have no idea what they're talking about. Wishbone is a great book, it's not supit and it's not like most children books. The writer is wonderful and it makes you want to read the The Prince and the Pauper. Buy this book it's great for all ages!

This book was great. I spent nights reading it. It is a true adventure that will really want you to read more classicals.

I thoroughly enjoyed this installment of the Osprey Military Campaign Series. As usual, the information is concise, to the point, interesting, and a fascinating read. Also, the maps and other illustrations and photos, are fantastic. If you like ancient history, this is an excellent introduction to a particular epic battle of antiquity.

Another excellent book from the Osprey Campaign Series. This earliest recorded Battle in the human history is recounted and critiqued by the author in an exciting manner. As opposed to a mundane account of the battle and the events leading to it, the author constantly provides objective strategic insights to the battle based on the analysis of the battlefield as well as the compositions of the armies. This introductory book is well illustrated and provides photographs of key areas of the battlefields. Highly recommend.

This book might be out of print, but I urge you to track it down and read it. It's less than 200 pages. The story will hook you. If you don't fall in love with Anthoula, then something is wrong.

I highly recommend this book! I was lucky enough to see Mac King perform his show in Las Vegas a few weeks ago. He was terrific. Some of the best slight of hand I've ever seen; delivered with down home charm and wit. After the show Mac made himself available in the lobby to talk with the audience. I mentioned to him my nephew was interested in learning magic and wondered if his book would be helpful. I bought a copy and was happy I did. It is filled to the brim with cleaver, off the wall tricks that anyone can do if they take the time to learn the routines. It is a great way to take your first steps into the world of magic without spending a ton of money.

These are not only simple kiddie tomfoolery tricks. There are easily 20 stunts/tricks worth the price of the book. They can be incorporated into various situations. The reactions youll get are from shreiks of horror( the eye sreamer) till astounded laughter (eg headless wonder). I performed 90% of the material on my poor wife yesterday. All brought the desired reaction (which even amazed me). The material can be incorporated into all routines, for different ages and even into a professional magicians repertoire. The benign looking booking is packed with show stopper after show stopper. In all there are about 50 tricks, stunts etc. They can win you friends or lose you friends. Use them wisely. Penn and Teller are right about Mac King. In fact this book is too good to be revealed to the general public. I have a huge range of magic books, much more expensive than this, and for sheer reaction (shocked, disgusted, astonished, amused), this matches the very best. OK OK . I am not Mac Kings relative, agent or friend, but a grateful amateur magician.

This book is great fun. Want to have fun with friends? Buy this book. Want to have fun with kids? Buy this book. You will be doing cool stuff at the next office party, cocktail party - whatever. This is loads of fun. Mac King is one of the funniest guys in the world and he has decided to share some of his funniest stuff with all of us. THANKS MAC! And Thanks to Mark Levy, too!

I have fallen hard for this series! King is a master. His use of bits and pieces of "our" world provides a chilling touch. I know a lot of people did not like the "Wizard of Oz" touch, but I found it to add to the mystic that can only be Stephen King. He takes something that we are all familiar with, then twists it, gives it new dimension and makes it his own. I reread the first 3 books and then read this one all in a matter of 4 days. I can hardly wait for the next book! (although my family probably hopes it won't be out for a while yet) Please, Stephen, publish the next one! We're dying out here! Your writing is superb and makes me want to be a part of Roland's Ka-tet! Onward to the Dark Tower Mr. King! Onward! (very soon!)

From the moment I opened to the first page of "The Dark Tower Series", I was hypnotized and a willing prisoner of Kings fantasy. I loved each one, up until I reached the last page of "Wastelands". At this point I said something off-color and threw the book across the room. I couldn't believe that I would have to patiently wait for the next in the series. Well, it has been several years and many many books later, and my wish is finally being granted. The next book has been completed. During this frustrating time of waiting, my main concern was the Mr. Stephen King would suffer a horrible accident and die before he could complete the series. Not only would the world have lost a great author, but I would have gone insane from not knowing the conclusion of this magical series. My family can finally breathe a sigh of relief since I wont be a nervous reck over not being able to grasp this book in my impatient hands

Stephen King may not be the most profound writer of our time, but I believe this series of books will be the ones that he is remembered for. He takes us on a journy with the last Gunslinger, Roland of Gilead, who is in search for the Dark Tower. The Dark Tower is the center of time and space...mayber even a doorway to other worlds. Roland has plowed West across Mid-World in search for the Dark Tower, set on saving his dying land. Will Roland ever find the fabled Dark Tower? We all hope so as we journy with him and his ka-tet. Another great thing about this series is how King has started to tie in his other novels with Roland's world. This a must read for any King fan... and even the people that don't like King. JUST GET IT.

The King of Billy Goat Hill By Mark Stanleigh

This wonderful story is about two boys growing up. The boys will make you laugh and make you cry, but never -- ever will they fail to entertain you.

Wade is nine and Luke is seven when the story opens in northern Los Angeles in the late 1950s. The boy's father has abandoned the family and their mother is out of touch with them, so they are very much on their own, especially in the summer.

Like most kids, boy or girls, they get into some sticky situations at times all through the book. Mac, their beloved dog, saves their hides more than once and is so smart, you'll be amazed. Then, when the boys befriend a Police Sargeant and his girfriend, they begin to find some direction to their lives.

An innocent mishap at "Three Ponds" leaves Wade frightened and consumed with guilt. On a chance meeting -- or is it really a chance meeting? -- the Sargeant slips the ball-bearing Wade used in his sling-shot that fateful day, into Wade's hand, and the boy is stunned. How did the Sargeant get it? Does he know the whole story? Can he help?

The young couple -- the Sergeant and Miss Cherry -- take the boys to their hearts, but it's obvious that Wade is the favorite for some reason. It looks like nothing will ever ruin the friendship between the four of them.

You will get to see "Eagle Rock" and "Cavendish Caverns" and "Three Ponds" among other places, in the story. All with the lovable Mac tagging along.

Finally, when Wade reaches 16, and after Mac is killed by a mysterious burgler, he leaves his mother and his brother. He sort of floats in an alcohol-haze for a few years, gets married, then sinks deeper into depression and drinks himself into jail.

The ending is poignant and as warm and loving as the entire book. True reading enjoyment. I can't wait for Mr. Stanleigh's next book. Review by Barbara A. Garrett.

I received this book as a surprise Christmas present from an old childhood friend. It turned out to be the best gift of the season. "The story embodies the essence of our own childhoods," my friend wrote. "If Wade and Luke don't transport you back to our humble beginnings, you've either lost your imagination, or we never knew each other!" Was she ever right. I could have been The "Queen" of Billy Goat Hill. This is a wonderful novel about life and how to survive it. One of the best, most satisfying, special reads of all time. I will always recommend this book and hope it stays in print forever.

The Highland Park/Eagle Rock area of northeast Los Angeles (where I grew up) is the setting for this wonderful, heartwarming novel. The story begins in 1958 (I was 5 then) when two young brothers sneak out in the middle of the night to a place known as Billy Goat Hill. What happens that first night sets the theme for this deeply moving psychological study of childhood events and how they control our emotions and behavior long into the future. There are many laughs to be enjoyed throughout and several times I openly wept as waves of empathy for Wade Parker shook me to the core. A finely woven plot that leapfrogs from the late 50's to the present will keep you engrossed page by page by page. I savoured each chapter and utterly adored the ending. Unless you have been miraculously blessed with a problem-free life, you will identify with every disturbingly dark and brightly illuminated nuance of this beautifully crafted story.

I love this Bible - I make sure this is the Bible our church gets for our graduation gifts for the seniors every year - it's also the Bible I bought my wife. The print is clear, and it's a durable Bible with lots of accurate notes.

This study Bible is one of the best versions out there. It is very easy to follow and understand. It has outlines and footnotes that allow you to apply each verse to everyday life.

I am a Seminary student and have gone through many study bibles. However, this work by W.A. Criswell is by far the best in the business.
