Indesign Bible too meny pages of text
After reading through the first 500 or so pages I could not bear to read another page. Too much like a reference book with no hands on teaching. I thought the cd that came with it would be like the rest of the adobe books I read with lessons that have text and photos which could be applied to training course chapters. Instead I got what indesign could do if you had text and photo's on it.
For someone that likes to read through 1000 and some odd pages to get head knowledge and no hands on experience this is your type of book, but not mine.

A Compehensive Reference
After ten years of buying and using computer books, I find that a book usually falls into one of two categories: 1. Hands-on Tutorial or 2. Comprehensive Reference. InDesign Bible falls into the later category, providing an excellent reference that is amply illustrated with both Mac and PC screen shots. There are even a few glossy color pages present entitled "Color Techniques." Unlike the "hands-on" type of books that are helpful for the duration of its lessons, InDesign Bible is a "reference" book that has stayed close to my computer for several months. Actually, each type of book has its merits and can compliment each other. For me, Indesign Bible has been a great companion to Abobe's InDesign Classroom in a Book. I highly recommend both titles.

Another Bible book , Another perfect work...
When I see this book in my local bookstore I bought it because it was a Bible. I came back to in front of my computer and start reading. Finally I can say this : "PERFECT!" It is my 4th Bible series book. If you want a Quark Killer- a new type approach to desktop publishing and if you think Adobe is the best graphics software developer in the world aaannd you didnt buy a indesign book yet , BUY this one. I can suggest this book to all level users. Thanks Adobe and thanks IDG.

Jack the Ripper: The Inquest of the Final Victim Mary Kelly
Published in Paperback by Key Pubn (1998)
Author: John Smithkey III
Amazon base price: $15.95
Collectible price: $15.88

interesting subject but....
fascinating material poorly presented by an author who can't write a coherent narrative. He repeats the same information in the exact same way over and over.

An excellent addition to any Ripper library!
Refreshingly devoid of "Jack the Ripper was ...!" intent -- "Jack the Ripper: The Inquest of the Final Victim Mary Kelly" is simply a fine dissection (forgive the ghastly pun) of a Victorian coroner's inquest.

Fascinating reading for anyone who delves into true crime books or Victorian history! I was particularily caught by the idea of Mary Kelly being seen alive hours after her death. No wonder the Ripper murders continue to mesmerize armchair detectives! It is like a labyrinth -- ever changing wih new paths to follow through the London coal fog.

Thank you, Mr. Smithkey, for a most enjoyable read!

The Crusades: A Biographical History
I am a homeschooler, and I bought this book because I was looking for something about the Crusades written specifically for younger children. This one fits the bill, although the language is rather dry and patronizing. It has some very nice illustrations and a few quotations from actual sources. I could see this book in a school library for 2nd-5th graders to use for research, but it is not the fun book I was hoping for. I'm not sure that I would recommended for homeschoolers.

A bit outdated, but a good book
This is the history of the Sergeants Major of the Army, as of the 9th SMA, Richard Kidd. It was written by a team at the U.S. Army Center of Military History in 1995 and has been "copied" by the current publisher. A new, updated version of this book is scheduled to be released next year, so wait for it instead.

The Woman Who Works, the Parent Who Cares: A Revolutionary Program for Raising Your Child

Assuages the guilt felt by working parents
From the back cover:

"Eminent child psychiatrist Dr. Sirgay Sanger offers a revolutionary parenting program that answers the question, dispels the guilt, and suggests positive solutions to the competing demands of work and motherhood. _The Woman Who Works, the Parent Who Cares_ demonstrates how the lifestyle of today's working woman can encourage the development of a more self-confident, independent socially skilled child...."

This book adds professional credibility to the excuses used by working mothers who claim to be "too busy" to nurture their own children. If you are a stay-at-home parent or a child advocate, this is a guilt-appeasing polemic which will make you angry. What exactly IS that hypothetical notion called "independence" and how does it help a child to be forced to navigate through his or her life alone? The author looks toward daycare providers and teachers as being "experts" in the lives of children. The role of parent is minimized.

On the other hand, if you are a working mother, this book offers practical suggestions for making the most of the time you spend with your children. It gives insight into the interaction of children with their teachers and daycare providers. In addition, there are some good ideas about father involvement, and valuable information about the development of the preschool age child.

Disturbed by Negative Reviews
I read this book quite some time ago and really enjoyed it. This book confirmed much of what I had already thought happened to this little girl, though some of what is written does not make sense. The author mentions blood being cleaned up after the murder, and everything that I have read on the murder indicates there was none. Other than that discrepancy, I felt the author was right on target.

I was however disturbed by the number of negative reviews written by people who had worked with Jane at Access Graphics. Ordinarily, this would have changed my opinion of this book and the author. However, after reading the book written by the Ramseys themselves, I don't like either one of them. I can see where they could make someone's life a living hell, especially someone who works for them.

Hopefully this book is factual in the sense that the little girl has reached beyond the grave to shed some light on her murder and that she has found some peace. The truth may never be known in this case, therefore the same rings true of all books written about it.

JonBenét's Gift "A Miracle for the Millennium"
I found this book to be really interesting, especially since she worked for the Ramsey's. I feel it gave her an insight on what these people were really like. I hope the BPD at least took the time to investigate the things she says happened in this book. I feel if your interested in who murdered this child it gives great insights into this family. Thanks Jane in caring enough about JonBenét to write this very interesting book. You did a wonderful job.

JonBenet's Gift: A MIracle for the Millennium
This is a wonderful book. It has a message of hope and healing, as well as awareness for child abuse. I now look at my children differently and cherish each and every moment with them. I've always loved my children, but I now have a deeper love for them. Our relationship has flourished beyond anything I ever imagined. My children trust me 100% and show their love and effection daily. We have all read this wonderful masterpiece of a book and have all received the gift from JonBenet's loving spirit. Children are only children for a short time and we all, as parents need to take advantage of the short time we have with them as children, learning and growing and evolving into adults. We are all adults for the rest of our lives, we need to enjoy their childhood with them. This book is inspirational and gave me a final ending to a horrible true life murder that unfortunately happened. It gave me closure to something that has been on millions of peoples' minds, as well as gave me a gift I never would have gotten anywhere else. I just have to thank you, Ms. Stobie, for the courage to write what you did and the wonderful book it became, the world needs more people like you,to not be afraid and stand up for what you believe in. Good Luck with your book and may GOD bless you.
