A Good Book
The Secret Journey is a good book. It is about twelve-year-old Emma Bolton, who lives in England in 1834. Her mother is sick and she and Emma's father are going to France and leaving Emma with Aunt Martha and her hated cousin Odolf. In a desperate attempt to get away from the evil Odolf and go to France with her parents, Emma runs away to the docks of Liverpool and gets onto a ship that she is told is the one her parents are on. Too late, Emma realizes that she is on the wrong boat. She has stowed away on the Black Lightning, a slave ship. She is going to have to go all the way to South Africa and back, disguised as "William", the ship's boy. However, about halfway there, the ship sinks in a huge storm. Emma is the only survivor. She is stranded in the jungle of Africa with only chimps to keep her company. Will someone find Emma? Or will she be stuck here forever?

The Secret Journey
The Secret Journey is a fantastic book. It starts out when Emma's mother is sick and has to move to warmer climates. The only problem is that Emma's father won't let Emma go. That means she has to stay with her horrible cousin Odolf. Emma will do any thing not stay with Ololf. So Emma disguises herself as a boy. She sneaks on to a ship which she thinks is the ship with her parents on it. It turns out that she is on the worst slave ship afloat! Then a storm comes and Emma gets marooned on the coast of Africa. There she only has her wits to keep her alive. The theme of this book is don't give up.
Anyone who likes adventure would love this book.

A 12 year old survivor.
I throughly enjoyed this book about 12 year old Emma Bolton. When her father decides to take her sick mother to France to get better, Emma is told she can't go on the trip. She is sent to her Aunt's to live, but doesn't stay there long. Trying to find the ship her parents are on, she ends up on a rough slave trading ship, and from there the adventure begins. Working as a cabin boy, she learns about the workings of a ship. Tradegy strikes when the ship sinks off the coast of Africa, and she is the only survivor. Her resourcefulness, and courage get her through 4 months in the jungle before she is rescued and taken back to England and finally to France to be her mother. The author gathered research material on ocean tides, chimpanzees, and jungle survival. The author did outstanding job of making this fictional story seem real. The courage found in the girl throughout the story, is inspiring for everyone. The story is told to the reader by Emma, and even when she was sick, the story still maintains the first-person narrative. I would recommend this book youth from ages 10-14 (upper elementary to lower middle school). It would make an excellent addition to any media center or classroom.

A great book!
Danger at the Fair was one of the best books I have ever read. It all started when Ellen and Corie Went to the fair. Ellen wanted to get her fortune told. So she bought a ticket and went into the trailer. The Great Syibl (the fortune teller)was contacting the sprits. Then Ellen's hand started automatically writing. The paper said there was a small one in danger. So, when she went home she told her parents. Her parents said she was just a fake, but she wasn't something and something bad happend! This is a great book. I couldn't put it down. So read Danger at the Fair and find out what happens. I would recomend this book to middle schoolers.

A MUST READ BOOK !
This is a wonderful book for all ages. There is one part that was strange, funny and cool because in this book there is a fake fortune teller that pretends that she can talk to the spirits. This girl Ellen goes to see the fortune teller and Ellen has a pencil and a notebook pad and the spirits take control over her hand. They wrote a message to her that says a younger one is going to face danger in the future.I suggest this book to parents who read books to children.

A great sequel to Terror at the Zoo.
Danger at the Fair is one of the best books I have ever read. I give it a five star rating. It all starts when Corey and Ellen go to the County Fair. Corey goes with his friend Nicholas and Ellen goes with her friend Caitlin. When Ellen gets to the fair she goes to a fortune teller. The fortune teller told her, great danger was upon a smaller one and that he would pay for his mastake. As Ellen tries to figure out what the fortune teller ment. Wile her brother gets nosy and gets in trouble by finding something that is terribly wrong. He tries to take the problem into his own hands and gets caught. Now Ellen is clueless and goes back to the fortune teller to find out what she meant. If you read Terror at the Zoo or Horror at the Hunted House, this is another-page-turning adventure.

An excellent arrangement for teens to pick from.
I am a Theater Arts teacher and I have trouble finding material that my students can relate to, but when I stumbled upon this book, I was amazed at how well my kids could perform with this material. It just clicked with them!

acting natural
awsome book! Great for acting in plays, or speech team. I haven't bought it, but i'v read it. hoping to buy it now on amazon. A+++++ book. some are funny scripts, others more not as funny, some are both!

Something for Everyone
Excellent source! As a drama director for a Girl Scout theater group, it's often difficult to locate material that appeals to pre-teen to teen aspiring actors. This book is full of great scripts that kids really relate to and enjoy presenting. I recommend that all teachers, drama instructors and youth leaders put this book at the top of the pile.

Cages
Kit Hathaway, an 8th grader who loves acting and animals,is trying out for a play in school. Marcia her enemy gets the lead roll which she wanted. She then shoplifts at a fancy department store and eventually gets caught. Her punishment is to work at the Humane Society. And ever since she stole the bracelet, she thinks everything is going wrong. She definitely thinks she lost the 9th grade scholarship. Her stepfather Wanye has binges every month that go for about three to five days. Also Dorothy, her mom, makes her feel bad too because she sticks up for Wanye too much. Kit meets a new friend at the Humane Society and finds out that her life is not in others hands;it's in hers. My opinion is that Cages is a 5 star book because it inspires me to grow up and think positively. It makes me notice the problems that come up and that sometimes problems help your future be better. This book makes me want to change my opinion of things and my "LIFE".

challenging, stretching, and a good read for young teens.
"This moment is passing..." So Kit Hathaway's speech teacher reminds her as Kit stands before her class to give a report on shoplifting. As she ponders the challenge issued by a classmate, Kit relives her own private nightmare. Kit feels like she's in a number of no win situations Her mother has recently remarried a man she (Kit) can't stand, because of his abusive alcholism. Her aspirations for college are denigrated. The part she wanted in a school play goes to a spoiled rich girl. Lost in the throes of self pity, she steals an expensive bracelet, only to be apprehended by the store detective. Through community service at the animal shelter, Kit learns that she doesn't have to live in a self imposed cage of self pity.

Cages
In the book Cages the author Peg Kehert never lets you put the book down. Teenager Kit Hathaway got caught shoplifting. Kit was mad and decided to shoplift because she did not get the lead part in the play and her step dad was drunk and called her an animal.
Kit's best friend Tracy was having a birthday party and it was going to be the best one yet. It was a hot air balloon birthday party. When Tracy gave Kit the invitation Kit looked at the date and time and it was when she was supposed to appear in juvenile court then.
Kit doesn't know what to do because she can definetly not miss her appearence in court and she doesn't want to tell Tracy about
shoplifting because when she gets her punishment and follows it, it will be erased from her record like she didnt even shoplift.
Tracy was mad at Kit for not telling her why she couldn't make it to her birthday party so that made her upset but then when she was in court her mom told her"I have always been proud to call you my daughter but tonight i am not". That made Kit feel even worse and she wanted to prove her mom wrong.Kit's punishment was to do a certain amount of hours of community service. Kit chose to volunteer at the dog shelter.
During the time at the dog shelter Kit got attatched to one of the dogs named Lady. Lady has been there for awhile so if she was not adopted soon then she was going to be killed. If you want to know what happens to Tracy and Kit being friends, if Lady lives, and if Kit earns back her trust from her mom you will have to read the book Cages yourself.

Mt Saint Helens and the huge explosion!!
This book is exciting and full of adventures. It has a lot of problems and the characters in the book really have to use their brain. Warren and his grandfather loved to build things but that was when Warren was little. Warren is bigger now and his grandfather has passed away. Warren now loves to build but one day somthing goes terribly wrong. What will happen? Find out What happens by reading Vocano Disaster. But make sure you're ready for excitment and adventure!!!!!

An exciting adventure on the slopes of Mt. St. Helens
"The Volcano Disaster" is a fast-paced action adventure, set on the slopes of Mount Saint Helens just minutes before the volcano is about to erupt.

Although the Instant Commuter that was invented by Warren's grandfather hardly looks like it would work as a Star Trek transporter, much less as a time machine, it's easy to forget about it once Warren is stuck on the slopes of Mount Saint Helens with the Instant Commuter back in the future at his grandmother's house, where his friend Betsy has to figure out how to rescue him from the past before he dies in the deadly ash.

This is an exciting adventure written at about the 4th grade level. Peg Kehret has taken care to make this story true to the facts and setting of the famous May 18, 1980 eruption that took place in Washington State.

action packed must buy book!
a book full of action that will keep you on the edge of your seat till the very end where you start thinking when should i get the sequal. It is action packed and it is a must buy by any kid or adult!

Book Review For Earthquake
This book was pretty good. It kept me reading on and on. I really liked it a lot since it was based on Peg's life and how she was partially paralyzed. She had to deal with a lot of trouble that was going on and the destruction of the earthquake. I liked how this book made it quite adventurous and exciting. It took me a few days to read it but not as long as some other books took me since this one I really liked. The girl had her brother to help her at some points but then her brother accidently was away from her and she had to deal with a lot of things being partially paralyzed. It was something I had to read to see what happened next.

EarthquakeTerror
I can say that ýt's the most exciting book I have ever read. When I start to read this book, I understand that I will love it. The story is based on a family especially two children. They went to holiday to an island which is isolated. The adventure starts by mother's broke her leg. They have to go to town to cure her leg and they go. Now two children are alone. Then an earthquake hits. You will see if they will survive or not.

Great Book
This was the best book I ever read! I just finshed reading this book today. Lots of action. I didn't think I would leave my kids on a island alone. I got the chills a sometimes. If I was in a earthquake I would go on the side of the bridge till people saw me (other people might think diffrent). Well thats about it it was a awsome book!!!
