Me and my sister love to play this card game.
I like that there's so many games to play. Me and my friends love to play it in the car. We particularly like the game "Go Exploring" which is like "Go Fish" for planets. We've learned a lot about space from the cards. It also makes a great birthday present.

the best book you will read in your life
this book is the best book i have ever read. it depicts people of african descent in the most positive light that i have ever read about. mr. harris whom my mother had the opportunty to meet has done a wonderful job in this book. i have recommended it to all of my friends and i recommend it to you. if you like adventure, romance, action, intrigue, then this book should be number one on your list to buy. the best part about this book is that though it is listed as fiction it could really happen. it will make you open you eyes to the things that are going on around the world. things that you probably would not have exposure to. keep an open mind and a open heart and you will love the books and especially the characters in the book. "to only have the chance to live in their lives for one day." what they do in a day some of you never do in a lifetime. enjoy!!

Holidays and romance - what could be better?
If you're looking for a good read with some funny situations and interesting holidays - get this book. Each story is unique and a fast read. I disagree with the reviewer who said the stories were cliche. I thought the characters were interesting and quirky with the only cliche being that they each found "true love" in different settings and that really isn't cliche - it's a romance novel. Sit back with your cup of tea or coffee, a snack and enjoy this novel. You won't be sorry.

Wonderful, Fantasy, filled Holiday stories!!
As in many anthologies, they are often more difficult to write than standard length publications. The writing must be fast in order to keep the flow and continuity from one story to the next. I thoroughly enjoyed "Romancing the Holidays". This isn't your standard, one-holiday anthology. There's everything from Jewish holiday traditions to Halloween. What a surprise and quite refreshing! If you'd like a fun-filled, whimsical, fantasy anthology, this is the one for you. I kept on reading until the last story was over!

Wonderful, Fun Stories!
As in all anthologies, writers are faced with pacing their stories faster and to the point. Authors must keep those stories flowing. Stories like these are often much more difficult to write than standard, romance-length publications. But I found the stories in "Romancing the Holidays" greatly enjoyable, light-hearted and extremely imaginative. I went from one story to the next without putting the book down. And what a wonderful premise! It's highly unusual to find a series of short romances based upon different holiday themes. Any lover of the romance genre will happily embrace these stories. Whimsical, fantasy-filled, fun and original, if you like stories about holidays, filled with romance and happiness, "Romancing the Holidays" is a great read! This isn't just your typical over-done, one-holiday anthology. There's everything from romances in the Jewish holiday tradition, to Halloween and everything in between. Very original!

Good book for any blues clues lover.
My sons love this book. Every page has something for kids to figure out. They can find where everyone is hiding and figure out what close up picture belongs to which person. It's good book for any fan of blues clues.

Good Blue book
My sons love Blue's Clues and everything to do with it. Theylove this book too. We have read it many times. Not many stories haveMagneta in them so I think that is one reason why they like this book.

Through the Tears: Caring for the Sexually Abused Child
Published in Paperback by Baptist Sunday School Board - Baptist Book Stores (1993)

Amazon base price: $8.99
Used price: $4.00

Reality of Abuse in Children
The book titled, "Through the Tears", deals with the struggles of caring for a child who has been sexually abused. Many parents have the difficult task of raising children that have experienced this type of abuse and there are so few resources available for them to understand the complexities involved in helping their children. This book covers topics of behaviors the child may express and how parents can cope and respond to those behaviors. MAny times the signs of the inner pain the child feels but can't express are seen through the acting out. With this book, the author discusses in great detail and in simple language the hard realities of the situation and gives helpful suggestions in dealing with the child. The majority of books are geared towards adults who are survivors of abuse who never told anyone of their experience as a child. When the child does speak out they can receive the proper guidance if parents and caretakers are informed about the circumstances they will encounter. Karen Johnson's book is informative and one I recommend to any family facing the long term affects of abuse.

Outstanding help for parents or providers w/abused children
This is a fine book for a professional who is working with both the parents/caregivers and the child whose been abused.

But it is an exceptional book for parents/caregivers, who have just learned about,or who are in the early stages of the stuggle and pain of dealing with a child who has been sexually abused.

Both warm and caring in it's first person presentation, yet also with lots of practical ideas and steps that really need to be addressed.

Francie

Life as Francie
Francie is a story about a young girl living in Noble, Alabama, with a lot more on her mind than boys or school. She goes to an all black school where she met Jessie, a heavyset boy who's almost 16 and can't read. So Francie tutors Jessie after school. They become friends when one day his father comes and pulls Jessie out of school to work. A little bit after, Jessie's dad ran off, without leaving a note or a reason. Jesse's mother had died earlier and he had no other relatives so he was all alone. And when he gets falsely accused of attempting the murder of his white boss, he's running for his life.
I disliked the book mostly because parts were hard to understand. The book also had it's moments when nothing much was happening. But the book was also good in ways. It portrayed a strong message to stand up for what you believe in. Francie was a strong hearted girl who's life was certainly not easy and this book showed what life was like for girls in that time period and how easy we have it now. Some related books would include Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry because that book also deals with segregation and life in that era.

Bianca:Courageous Girl
Francie was a girl who belived she could do anything. Her teacher asked her to tutor a 16 year old who had never read before. When he is accused of attacking a white man, Francie jumps to his defence without knowing that she is putting her family in danger .
The author told the story in a way that could be easily understood. I'm not a big fan of historical fiction, so when I liked this book, I was really suprised. The book was written very well.
I would reccommend this book to someone who likes historical fiction. Not only is it historical fiction, it also has a little bit of action. Action, history what more could anyone want in a book.

Helping a friend
This book is about a girl named Francie who wants to get to Chicago to be with her dad.Her dad writes her letters so now Francie is getting her hopes up to much. then she meets a boy named Jesse who is in her class but can't read so know francie teaches him until Francie sees a sign that says if you see this boy then you need to call the police as soon as possible. and the boy is Jesse! then jesse is hiding in the woods and francie finds him then for a day she lets him stay in her shed and gives him a blanket and food but then francie's mom can't find some food that she needs and so francie has to make something up to stay out of trouble finally at the end Francies dad sends the family train tickets to get to Chicago but the rest your going to have to find out your self enjoy!!!!!

The downward spiral of WROX
WROX books used to be the only ones I'd buy; after having a grand ol' time with the ASP and ASP Databases series. The Professional series has been a real disappointment (and waste of money!). The books tend to be more wordy than necessary and spend too much time on the obvious and too little on the abstract. Cold Fusion is a fairly straight-forward programming language. WROX has somehow managed to make it much more. Perhaps too many cooks in the kitchen; looks like they had 18 authors put this beast together.
Look elsewhere...

A must have for all CF'ers...
Being a ColdFusion user group president, I give this book my seal of approval. This book is well written with easy to understand examples. It will help someone with no CF knowledge all the way to the experts. This book is well laid out and is enjoyable to read. I didn't know what to expect from Wrox on this. I have been a huge Ben Forta fan but this book is just as good as his (if not better)! If you want to learn CF, or just want to get better, buy this book. You will be very happy with it.

Very good book
This is a very good book!
Vale a pena galera!

Good story
My two year old loved this book! We wore out the pages reading it over and over again. Now my son is coloring and trying to draw a story too.

Daughter loves it
My daughter loves the sory and as a parent I like the idea that is teaches you should find something to do instead of moping around. Good Story -- We need a new one because we as the other reviewers have worn ours out

Keeps 'em entranced!
I bought this book for my 20 month old, who adores Blue. It reads very well, and the colors and characters keep him entranced. Could be a few pages longer though, and no Steve in this one!
