I once meet someone who made it up to Kashmir in the 80's and actually met Swamij Lakshmanjoo. My friend was presented with this very book and told, "if you read it over and over again you will come to understand Kashmir Shaivism." This has been my experience also, and though some of the material is deep at first, I found that with each subsequent reading this book became more and more clear.
'Kashmir Shaivism, the Secret Supreme' reads like the spoken word. It seems obvious that Swami Lakshmanjoo bases his teaching on his own personal experience.
I have been interested in Yoga and Kundalini for many years, and have read an enormous amount of material on these subjects. For the first time I find Swami Lakshmanjoo's explanations very clear and insightful.
This book is a great help to the sincere spiritual aspirant interested in the subject of Kashmir Shaivsim.

This is the 2nd in the Krull and Hewitt's "Lives of ..." series. The book contains 19 chapters on 20 writers in birth order: Murasaki Shikibu (973?-1025?), Miguel de Cervantes (1547-1616), William Shakespeare (1564-1616), Jane Austen (1775-1817), Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875), Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849), Charles Dickens (1812-1870), Charlotte & Emily Bronte (1816-1855 & 1818-1848), Emily Dickinson (1830-1886), Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888), Mark Twain (1835-1910), Frances Hodgson Burnett (1849-1924), Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894), Jack London (1876-1916), Carl Sandburg (1878-1967), E. B. White (1899-1985), Zora Neale Hurston (1901?-1960), Langston Hughes (1902-1967), Isaac Bashevis Singer (1904-1991)
This is a perfect book for young adolescents and pre-teens who as they grow and mature frequently feel awkward. Krull introduces us to the idiosyncrasies of the literary. Some of the authors were loners, eccentric, a wee bit peculiar. Michael Jackson's behaviors might seem normal when held in comparison. Some retreated into themselves. Some sought out adventures. Some as adults were unsuccessful at the ordinary.
Some worked at a young age to support the family. Some took daily walks, very long daily walks. Some were not healthy and therefore wrote in bed. There were some similarities and some differences, but they all shared a singular conviction to write and write they each did well.
Hewitt's delightful portraits of the writers are precious. My favorite portrait is of Frances Hodgson Burnett of "The Secret Garden" fame. Her hat is the secret garden.
Given the high price of the book, I was surprised that Krull did not include a list of the authors' books and/or poems and the publication years. END

I agree with "Pennsylvania" though, that Clausager's perspective is very rooted in England and Europe. I feel there needs to be a full section for the differences in every major market, with North America, especially the US, being the largest. In fact, on page 126 Clausager says: "North American cars have not been split into US Federal, US Californian, and Canadian cars -- there is a limit to what even I will do!" (notice Mexico isn't mentioned), but on page 127 he states: "There is little doubt, however, that apart from the USA and the UK, some of the biggest markets were Australia, Canada, and Germany..." With the US and Canada being two of the biggest markets, more North American centricity is appropriate.
I do understand the enthusiest's disdain for the US market though; it 'mandated' all British cars into floaty, bloated, tall, weak mushballs, which is why Mark I cars are so valued.
Also, I have only found one discrepency, and that's one example of the piping of interior trim for Mark I cars. The second-from-top-left picture on page 40 shows a white 'B which has red interior with white piping (but Clausager does not note it as incorrect, which he does often about other details throughout the book). But, the Colour Schemes chart on page 131 shows Old English White or Snowberry White to have an optional red interior with black piping, which does not match with the picture on page 40 (should say white piping, or the picture should be noted as incorrect). Is this nit-picky? Yes, but that's what this book is all about.
Buy it, enjoy it, and write the publisher to make a future edition with more US information.
This book is the rosetta stone to those who seek to find out what an "original MGB..." is after discovering that all of the unknowing previous owners chose to augment their cars with their ideas of improvements. Maybe you just want inspiration for your restoration from the excellent photography. Or, to those seeking a concours restoration, this is a valuable resource. Yes, I'm mad because there is only --one-- "Original MGB..."

Enough of that - Lee Bermejo's artwork is what makes this book so impressive. I would call it Lenil Francis Yu done properly. It's like single frames from a movie, rather than the stylised cartoon figures of most modern comics. The expressions and details and body language is so accurate and realistic, it's a pleasure to look at, and the colours and inks suit the pencils just perfectly. Best of all is the way Superman is drawn. Most artists need to draw Superman as a characature these days to get across how mighty he is, a ridiculously over-built cartoon. Berjemo makes the Man of Steel far more impressive by showing him as just a big, strong, yet realistic-loooking guy, and thus makes him look truly awesome. Hands down, some of the best Superman artwork I've ever seen.
Overall, a nice, small-scale story with sensational artwork.

If you are looking for a book that tells the history and folklore of the Sprite, this may not be your book. (Though Horler's brief history is very well written.)
