Have Fun Discovering Marine Biology
I am a high school student and this is a college course, and the only reason I am bought this book was because my school can't afford to supply the students with it. This book is great and is going to almost guarantee me a passing grade in my Marine Biology class. Although this is just an introduction book it is full of information and it is and interesting subject to study. Coming from a student I recommend this book to any Marine Biology teacher. This subject is overall fun and even if you are expecting to be something non-related to this subject when you choose your career this is still very educational.

Meditations for Cats Who Do Too Much
Meditations is a book that I always keep within paw's reach. We cats need self-help, too considering we are so prone to being workaholics. We face alot of pressures as we're on the job constantly, having little time to ourselves to address our "inner kitten issues". Thank goodness for this book and the 9-Life Recovery Program. Truly lifesavers for the cats of the millennium.

GREAT BOOK FOLKS MUST HAVE
If you've gotten on the road with michael it's kinda like that as far as the words, a summary of the show very brief (get more info like his loafer flipped off at this tour from on the road with michael) and then the 1984 grammy thing and stuff. pictures are from the same concert as the book victory tour it's about the same in that way, this one has better pictures and more distinct pictures of the show. basically a picture from each song michael did. Positives the pictures show billie jean unlike victory tour book as well as the "kreeton monsters" and the spider. Pictures tickle the imagination a lot more to. Some of the pictures if I didn't know anything about the victory tour would think that the picture was taken while performing "thriller." what that means is they're so good they set a tone. you can tell it was taken place during the eighties. it's not a hard back like victory but it's same size about 14 inches long and quadruple bigger ninety five pages. similarity to victory is that the pictures like the cover front and back are the same except you can tell from a different camera or a different shot. GO GET THIS THOUGH if you have the choice.

Another gem ¿ what a fantastic book!
This is Pete Welling's best book yet. Although I didn't think he could top Andrew McGroundhog and His Shady Shadow, I think Michael Le Soufflé's illustrations are the best of any children's book I have seen in recent memory.

The story, a comical tale about a happy-go-lucky rooster and an irritable pig, is original to say the least. While I think children (and adults) will enjoy the story, it's the illustrations that steal the show. I was laughing more at the illustrations than at the story. Each page is packed full of humor within humor; the book may be a short 32 pages but it took me half an hour to get through it because I spent so much time on each page looking at the complex, yet fanciful, drawings.

If you have a young child just learning to read or an older child who still enjoys being read to while looking at great illustrations, then buy this book. It will be cherished for years to come.

Flower Power
This book got me down on the ground to peer up into the cupped flowers of my hellebores to study their pollination structures and set me on stake-out around my crocuses to see who came to pollinate them. Just as The Natural History of Pollination predicted, the first honeybee of the season moved from the chalice of one crocus to the next and to the next, checking out but passing over the intervening primrose, hellebore and Oregon grape flowers. The crocus has an agenda, the bee has an agenda, and I enjoyed an early spring day in the garden more because I had more insight into their agendas. This detailed book is accessible to anyone with a basic science vocabulary and is richly illustrated with photos of plants and their pollinators, as well as helpful line drawings. I recommend this to any gardener who wants to deepen their understanding of what's going on in their garden and to any student of natural history who wants to better appreciate the complex coevolutionary dance around us. This book has made me more attentive to a world of wasps and tiny flies, and to the myriad bee species. It has helped me see flowers from the point of view of the pollinators essential to them: insects, bats and hummingbirds. Those charming dots of color on foxgloves and hellebores serve as landing guidelines for bees. The sweet perfumes of lilac and honeysuckle seduce butterflies. The carrion odor of jack-in-the-pulpit and arum lilies attracts flies. My wild ginger imitates the scent of a fungus on which a certain kind of fly lays its eggs, luring this pollinator to its flowers. And how about those white flowers that open in the evening to draw moths? I keep this book handy as new plants come into bloom, so I can appreciate them better as I understand their strategies for reproducing themselves.

CNS = Structure + Function + Dynamics
This reference considers the organization and function of the brain. The structural approach considers neural morphology and synaptic connectivity. It is noted that pasterns of reciprocal interaction are common, binding structural units together. The functional approach considers functional decomposition of skills or behavior. Computational neural networks are used in models but are constrained by neuroanatomy and neurophysiology. 'Schemas' are functional entities. The dynamics approach allows analysis of spatiotemporal neural phenomena, and provides another bridge between structure and function. The reference begins with three chapters, each an overview on structure, function and dynamics. Chapters on the olfactory system, hippocampus, thalamus, cerebral cortex, cerebellum and basal ganglia follow.

You Cannot Go Wrong With This Anthology!!!
With stories like "Ferryman" (Eric Brown), "The White Stuff" (Peter F. Hamilton & Graham Joyce), and "A Night on Bare Mountain" (Graham Charnock), anthologies don't get any better than this. My only quibble is with the experimental narrative "Thirteen Views of a Cardboard City"(William Gibson) which rounds out the volume with a whimper, not a bang. Otherwise, this is Hugo & Nebula territory.
