I should qualify my comments regarding Stewart Home's book by stressing that the overwhelming impression I got as expressed above is by the book as a whole; I reserve my enthusiasm for a lot of his work including pieces reprinted here from SMILE, etc. which I've always liked and still find valid, (whatever that means). However, even those lose their edge when flattened into the rhetoric of this book and the more recent pieces seem to turn into mush on their own. I think Stewart Home's quite cleverly pre-empted a wide variety of specific, (ie. ideological, academic) criticism by heading it off at every turn, but I don't find that very interesting, at least not any more. It just strikes me as a very tight, boring, little orbit. In the end, I think it's fair to criticise the book as a whole, as I don't see anything holding these pieces together except the idea of Stewart Home

I bought this book thinking that you could actually learn something from the labs. I was actually disappointed. First of all, it uses an old version of what it is now known as Webpack 5.2i from Xilinx, or foundations. the examples are very bleek and take the assumption you took the lecture before you can perfom this lab.

It is obvious this book is geard towards a technical school rather than an engineering school. There is not much you can learn from this book other than learning a lesson on how to be careful next time when buying books.

Disapointed buyer

It was wacky and out of step with Bolachian principles. You could even say it had a Vludicrian influence but only slight hints and purposely concealed. I didn't like the book at all as it was perfect up until the end and then fell flat with Jerrialimian contrived symbolism thrown in seemingly randomly to tie-up the story.
