Excellent book for diehard fans
This book is excellent if you are eager to seek out places Elvis frequented throughout his life. Not simply Sun Records or other well-known locations; rather, the non-traditional hangouts. I have brought the book to Memphis and used it as a guide to visiting some out-of-the-way places. Elvis was a lot more than Graceland and Sun. If you are interested in other locations which assisted in his formative years, take this book to Memphis and look up some of the addresses listed. You'll gain a better appreciation for the King.

Floors: A Design Source Book (Design Source Book)

Exquisitely photographed and very thorough exploration.
Not only is this a very complete reference for someone interested in exploring all the options in flooring, but it has merit as an overall design reference as well. To assume this is just about floors is a mistake, there is much to be gleaned in overall design as well. It is an excellent reference. Beautifully photographed and full of innovative ideas and very thorough consideration of all aspects of floors from design to materials to installation.

Hadrian's Villa and Its Legacy
Published in Paperback by Yale Univ Pr (1997)
Authors: William L. MacDonald, John A. Pinto, and Henry McBride
Amazon base price: $35.00
Average review score:

The ancient Romans created a provocative architecture.
MacDonald/Pinto assert that Hadrian forged a new and innovative architectural system which integrated buildings with nature and human use. Hadrian's goal was to create an arrangement of buildings which were functional and yet challenged the intellect to contemplate the unseen world. They also make a very strong case for the pervasive influence which this complex villa has had on archtecture from ancient times to the present. This book makes one realize that Roman architecture is indeed relevant to the present.

The perfect combination
Winslow Homer's watercolors perfectly complement Thoreau's works. For someone new to Thoreau's poetry, it is an enchanting collection sure to engage, capturing the essence of New England nature, and Transcendentalist philosophy. It is a beautiful tribute to two who were masters of their crafts.

Stirs the Yoeman farmer in each of us!
This is a delightful work. The writing is superb. It is a quick read, too quick. I wish it went on for several hundred pages more. It is one of those books that once you finish it the next book you read seems flat and dull. It is about a year he spent on his farm in Maine. It is filled with wonderful, arftul, inciteful, descriptive glimpses into this world and humanity. It stirs the soul and has a way of making one want to go right outside and plant something. A great read for anyone who likes nature or great writing in general.

Residential Wiring
This is a great textbook for the beginning and intermediate level electricians. The text stays detailed yet organized as you follow steps in the process of wiring a typical house. It is based on the 2002 NEC so everything is updated and to code. The study questions, and chapter end summaries are key features that will aid in the learning process. I believe this book is a great bridge from classroom study to on-the-job training. I will use this book and would highly recommend it to others.
