Getting The Search Engine Ranking Your Website Deserves: : META Tags Yield To Google's PageRank As Search Engine Standard
Published in Digital by Transformata Publishing LLC (17 March, 2003)
Author: John Henderson

DO NOT get this article!!
I have read many FREE articles on search engine optimization. There was nothing new here. I'll give him some credit how he describes linking within your site...but you should buy Google Hack. It's only $ more. This 14 page, big font article is NOT worth $. I want my money back. This is the first time I have ever written a review...because I was dissapointed. Buy Google Hack.

Finally, A Technical Work That Uses PlainSpeak
This work really makes sense. At long last someone has put it all together in a way that even I can understand. "Goodbye" to empty promises of improving my website ranking. "So long" to the meta tag mavens who want to increase my traffic -- but not my SALES. When it comes to understanding what it takes, Henderson appears to be telling it like it is. I especially like his use of diagrams and illustrations to demonstrate the logic of website navigation and its effect on ranking by the major search engines, especially Google. And while there's no magic 'cookie' or 'meta tag' to make it happen, at least I know what "I" have to do to put PageRank to work for me. Thank you, John Henderson.

Very Helpful e-doc
The concept of the author's article is excellent. I have discussed the idea of "page ranking" versus "site ranking" with fellow memebers at work and the process is right. There appears to be no way to trick or fool search engines. You can buy pay-per-click ranking (That's expensive.) or work to make your pages worth something to the search engines. I'd advise every webmaster to re-set their thinking. Concentrate on page ranking!

Tales of Giant Snakes: A Historical Natural History of Anacondas and Pythons

This book is cool.
this book is cool, i also know the guy, he works at the high schoo

A delightful debunking of the myths about the biggest snakes
Hollywood has not been kind to the long constrictor. In its view, they drop out of trees or rise up out of rivers, big as buses and determined to squeeze the guts out of that hapless human being who has wandered within reach of their treacherous or lecherous (depending upon the sex of the victim) coils. Though big snakes have, in fact, never been much interested in people, people have always been fascinated by them. Sensational stories of villagers squashed and gobbled up by monstrous serpents fill the accounts of explorers and early "naturalists." For all the satisfying fear they engender in far removed readers, such stories do the snakes injustice and divert attention from their remarkable morphology and living habits. These authors are scientists, but they are also literate and obviously snake enthusiasts. So while they stick to the facts, they write clearly and engagingly in defense of remarkable animals who, when it comes to encounters with humans, are much more sinned against than sinning. There are chapters about feeding and breeding of course. But there is also a serious review of the extraordinary stories that impute lengths of sixty or more feet to anacondas and pythons. By the time the myths have been detonated, the terrified lay reader is ready for an honest answer to the question, "How long can a snake grow?" Read the book to find out. But I will say it is longer than some buses.

The Facts and Nothing But the Facts
I purchased this book on a whim, knowing of the authors' credibility. When I got in to it, I realized it was going to be more than I expected. This work discredits one by one all the ridiculous length claims on snakes from around the world. Instead of these (sometimes outrageous) claims, the authors provide you with THE FACTS AND NOTHING BUT THE FACTS!

It is about time herpers spread the honest truth about these species to the general public, rather than the typical "My python should hit thirty-five feet because that's the maximum size!".

This book is an educational experience for ANYONE with an interest in these species or herps in general. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

The human attack accounts are pretty eye-opening, too!

Helpfull, but not a complete reference.
Trying to follow the electrical diagrams in this book will reveal its limitations. Other sections seem a bit brief also. However, with the exception of the Volvo factory books, this is the best general reference that I have found. The factory books are purchased seperately, and are meant to go into a binder. To buy all the factory books for the 740 would cost over $3000, making this book a bargin!

Incomplete, but pretty good
Although there have been a few things that I was interested in that were not included in the book, for the most part it's a sufficient repair manual. I'm a very inexperienced mechanically, but I've been able to do quite a bit of work on my 740s using this book. It does cover stuff that I wouldn't even think of doing though---including pulling the tranny apart...

This book did not cover anything on high beam switch.
I searched the entire book and found no infomation on how to service or troubleshoot the high beam switch. I did see the turn signal portion but no information on the high beam switch.

Contracts student
As a student of Contracts, this casebook is useful for learning the subject area. It provides several cases to adequately illustrate the areas of contract law & major concepts. Although it can be somewhat dry, the historical overviews provided by the editors can be helpful to the average law student.

Auto repair at its finest.
This manual far exceeds any chiltons manual I have ever purchased. The electrical diagrams were all there (broke down by year) with no questions left unanswered. The book entailed many helpful photographs not just sketched pictures. I did think they could have provided more color photos though. Overall I would reccomend this manual to any nissan maxima owner.

Good for potential NT server users, outdated otherwise
If, like me, you're considering upgrading from a small peer-to-peer Windows 95/98 network to a proper NT server network and are wondering what NT is all about, this is a great introduction. Better than most introductory books, it clearly explains the advantages and limitations of moving up to NT and the basics of how file server and client/server operations work. However, if you're looking for up-to-the-minute NT information, you'd be better to look elsewhere. Despite the "totally revised and updated" claims, this book is clearly near the end of it's currency. The references to 9600 speed modems and PC's with 16 MB RAM let you know the revisions were not all that complete. But if you're mystified by what NT can do and want an introduction, this book will prepare you for more current/technical books.
