Great, but impractical summary
Winning Is Everything was awesome. But the summary was pretty far off from the real plot. After D.J.'s party for getting good grades in college, Stephanie feels like she needs to win something. So, she decides to run for class president. But there's a problem; Allie, her best friend, is running for president too. Stephanie goes all out in her campaign, giving away candy, pulling showy-stunts, while Allie's campaign is much more conservative, and only focuses on the school's issues. Allie and Stephanie aren't really getting along, so Allie decides to drop out and become Stephanie's running mate. Then, Stephanie and Allie win! But things aren't turning out the way Stephanie plans. She forgets almost everything for the student councel, and Allie does all of Stephanie's work. Finally, Stephanie realizes that she can no longer be president, since she can't handle the job. But Steph is already president and stuck! Uh-oh. How will she get out of this mess?

Very Good! Definitely Read!
This book is one of the best books I have ever read. I bought this book last night and I finshed it just a little while ago. I couldn't put it down. If you enjoy romance, history, some action, and even a little mystery, you will LOVE this book. I also recomended the other books in this series.

What a Great Book!
This has to be the absolute best of all the Hearts and Dreams series! I think that it has the a great plot, and it is wonderfully told. If you like reading books that have great adventures and a dash of romance, I swear you will love this book! Heck with the book, you'll love the whole series!

The Best in the Series!
When I first read Katherine, I fell in love with the series, but for some reason it took me a year to finally buy the other three. I read Charlotte and was a little disappointed, and I was begining to worry that the others might not be as great. Boy was I wrong! To be honest, I thought Stephanie was going to be a bad plot and all, but I couldn't put the book down! It is my favorite of the whole series. Carrie wasn't quite as good (about as good as Charlotte). I would strongly recomend this book to anyone who likes historical romances! It is one of the best books of its kind!

Great until the end
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was humerous, adventurous, romantic, and well-written. This was going to be one of my favorite books of all time. However, when i read the end, i completely changed my mind. I don't want to ruin it for anyone, but I have no idea what the author was thinking. Anyway, i hope this review is helpful to those who would like to read it for the most enjoyable parts up until the last few pages.

Dessert
This was a delightful book! Nothing life-changing, but definitely an enjoyable read-- nicely paced, well-written, and charming. I especially liked the way Dokey got around the nagging plot-problems of the original Sleeping Beauty tales: I mean, sleeping for a hundred years does not make for a page-turning story and kissing unconscious strangers seems kind of creepy. I'm happy to say that Dokey handled both problems with grace and style.

But I wonder if the people from the school library journal (above) actually read it, since Ironheart and Charming are two *different* people in the book.

A original classic
Who can help but instantly love a book that's narrative is so fresh and honest, and real that the story couldn't be anything but original, even though sleeping beauty is a well-known tale? I certainly can't. This is one of the sweetest and most innovational written novels I've read for a while. And even though it is rather short, and somewhat simple that in no way detracts from its atmosphere. Buy this book, you won't be sorry, it's a great one to add to your collection of fairy tales.

The Prisoner (The Blair Witch Files, Case File 6)

Interesting concept shattered by a lack of explanation...
The Prisoner is only the second Blair Witch Files novel I'd ventured in and I must say that is fails to make me eager to read another. When I read The Witch's Daughter I was really impressed and I was very eager to read another entry in the series, but upon finishing The Prisoner I just kinda felt...empty? I don't know which word describes my post-Prisoner mood, but I just felt like I wanted more to the story. I mean it has an interesting premise of a girl, Eliza Baynes, who was convicted of a crime she didn't commit, Murder, and is desperately seeking Cade's help. Cade gets involved, reads her diary and a bunch of weird events happen which seem a little more than coincidental. But like other reviewers I wanted to know more about the Blair Witch and Eliza Baynes, some of the explanations seem a little too easy to come by, and some of the dialogue the characters used was simply laughable and seemed like something from a poorly written Teenage Soap Opera. But on a better note I will say that there were some elements of the story that were just flat out eerie, I mean the way the author describes them and the mental image that gets associated with those words is just plain eerie.

As a whole I would say that The Prisoner was mildly entertaining, there were a lot of elements that I wanted to be deeper explored and I wanted thought out explanations, not just sloppy one or two sentences to explain a few chapters worth of going-ons. The Prisoner left me wanting to desire fulfillment, it didn't leave things unexplained involving Eliza Baynes, it's just that every explanation was just so blunt and fast that it left something to be desired. I can only recommend The Prisoner if you are a true Blair Witch fan, as most non-Blair Witch fans would probably be lost and would laugh at the bland pre-adolescent dialogue. Simply put, The Prisoner only slightly provided a sense of satisfaction upon completion and I can only recommend that fans of the Blair Witch Project check into it. I hope my review will help you in your decision on The Prisoner, whether you pass or buy, thanks for reading.

Another great book in the Blair Witch Files Series...
When Cade Merrill is contacted by a girl convicted of murder, he is determined to uncover the truth about her crimes. At sixteen Eliza Baynes tried to take her revenge on the stepbrother she hated, but her attempts at a spell ended with the death of her father. Sent to boarding school, Eliza is haunted by her past and the fact that everyone she talks to about what happened dies in mysterious circumstances.

Finally convinced she has escaped from the witch's evil, Eliza returns to Burkittsville, where it is soon apparent that history is repeating itself. Eliza was only eighteen years old when she was given the death penalty for killing her then boyfriend Jake Henderson on the evidence of his younger brother Ryan. Her sentence is later retracted and Eliza is sentenced to life imprisonment, but the memories of what took place remain and she needs Cade's help. Eliza claims that she herself is innocent and that Jake's murder was committed by a person under the control of the Blair Witch. As she warns Cade, everyone who hears her story ends up dead. Will Cade be the next victim of the Blair Witch?

"The Prisoner" is the sixth book in the Blair Witch Casefiles series. It was a fast-paced, entertaining and genuinely scary book, although it did lack the suspense of some of the previous books. I love every book in the series so far and this one did not disappoint. I recommend this to all Blair Witch fans.

Great book, can't wait to read the rest...
This book was a very good read, in fact it only took me a day to read it.(even though it was a short book)The story is about a young girl who is convicted of murder for a crime she claims she did not commite, that in fact it was the blair witch....and anyone who she tells her story to dies...so she asks Cade Merrill for help and he ends up reading her diary (which you will be reading in the book). While the story is really good...it was also depressing caues it turnes out sad. And of course sincs it is of the Blair Witch you still dont fine any truth about anything, you just read the story. I cant wait to ready the other 7 books in The blair witch Files. You can go to the website if you want to now more about the books, there are even clues to each of the books you can read, like the e-mails of the people who wrote to Cade Merrill and other interesting stuff. ...

Charmed by The Novel
Another entertaining episode that has the Charmed Ones operate in an enchanting field. This time it's ghosts from the 50's that can't get their peace until the mystery is solved. Having read all 10 Charmed-books that have been published so far (or that I know of), I must say that this is not the top-thriller because I did find the characters of Brett and Marjorie and Wendy a bit flat. That doesn't mean the book is not good, it's just that the others were better because their characters were more lively.

An Awesome Book
If you like Charmed, the show, you will love this book. I have read every charmed book besides the 2 new one's and this one was my favorite. Phoebe is doing a school project and she runs into ghosts that spirits haven't Rest In Peace yet. Phoebe has to figure out how to stop them before she and her partner are killed at the halloween party at college. The ghost that will kill them believe that they are his ex-girlfriend and friend. Really good book and I love it!

One of the Best books
This book is as interesting a read as the other five books in the Charmed Series. I like way the writer lets us know what Phoebe feels in the story. This book is very worth it and i would recommend it to everybody.

A Interesting read.
This book was very catchy. I read it in a day. It isn't one of those books that you read and it teaches you nothing. I had never really heard of the washington avalanche, so it was interesting to me and I learned something. The story was about a girl about to turn 18 named Virgina [called Ginny] and when she does turn 18, her brother has something horrible planned. She runs away from her step-brothers house a few months before she turns 18 to escape her cruel fate. When she get's on the train a girl about her own age helps her hide. They become friends and find out that they both have the same name! ginny's new friend is coming out west to marry a man she knows nothing about, but made a death bed promise that she would. ginny and Virgina decide to switch places, so Virginia can check out her fiance from a distance and Ginny can stay hidden from her brother. But when "Virginas" fiance arrives on board ginny is swept off her feet. The same with him! But ginny has to tell him the truth. But now the passengers on the train are threatened by the brutal snow storm and threatening avalanche. This was a great book. I was kinda disapointed on what ginny does in the end, but hey, what's a good book without a few mistakes?! Over all it was still good and I would recomend it.

AMAZING! Held you interested the WHOLE time
This book was so amazing. I don't know why but one day at the library I saw a book called Stephanie: Heart of Gold....weird as I am I took it thinking a book with the same name as me would be good. I was hooked right after I read that book. I checked out more and more books by Cameron Dokey. She's an amazing writer...the romance she talks about it's so close to what teenagers face. This is definatly a young adult novel. It is mysterious, romantic, and also sad. Crying may be an option that will happen sooner or later. But it's worth reading it, the book is amazing.

A terrific series that is a "must read"!
I have enjoyed all of the books in this series so far. Washington Avalanche, 1910 is no exception. Two girls, both named Virginia, meet be chance on an ill-fated train ride through Washington state. Neither of them realize that the outcome of their meeting, and the results of a plan they hatch to disguise their real reasons for this train trip, will change their lives forever. This book is full of romance, history and sadness (this was a horrific accident in American history), but I found it enjoyable and a good read.

For the thrill with out to much thought
I have read two books from this series and neither were to impressive. This books main charactor was charming and interesting and getting introduced to her psychic ability of touching an object of a missing person/child and then entering into the thoughts of that person is quite a well read UNTIL about half way through when that darn plot gets in the way. This book is rightfully written for the young adult. I like reading young adult for easy reading which this book provided but the problem was that the plot had a twist (farely obvious one) that made a decent but very obvious story into a bareable one. The cuteness factor is pretty high, but at the same time it doesn't even go to far indepth in any detail that really gives a book some weight.

Really good!
Amy has clairvoyance. She used to use her gift to help find missing people. All she has to do is touch something that meant a lot to the person, and she is in their head, seeing what they see.
After a specific case that she can't seem to shake off, Amy quits working with the police. She is fine until one day she is sought out by a man named Elmore Granger who asks that she find his son Nick.
She eventually gets inside Nicks head, and finds out that he is underwater in a coffin. She uses her ability to comfort Nick, and feels a strong connection with him--a connection she cant seem to get rid of.
She has to find him. But will she get there before it's too late?
This was a wonderful book! I really loved it! It was beautifully written and i couldn't put it down!

It's Awesome!
Okay, I would've preferred more love scenes or something, but it was great, and it kept me on the edge of my seat. I started reading it in bed, and didn't turn of the light till I was done! (9:30pm--1:00am!) Read this book! You won't be dissapointed!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer #16: Here Be Monsters

Very Predictable, but okay
I didn't really enjoy this book because you knew what was going to happen. It was obvious that the vamps were killing the people, and Buffy would of course save the day. The twist with the demons was good, but I wouldn't recommend this book. Dokey is still a newer writer, so taking that into account the book was fair. Not number one on my book list, but an average read.

Buffy Books once again Rock
Here Be Monsters is a really good Buffy book, once again the novels take place during season 3 of Buffy and this one is really good, it took me only 2 days to read, the ending is suprising and i really wasnt seeing the twist coming. If u want a good read i recommend this book one of the best in the series

excellent reading
This book is an excellent editioin to the buffy series. when buffy stakes a pair of horrible, persistant, crazy, twin male vamps whom she thought were bad, she meets their mother. their mother promises to make buffy's life miserable by taking away the one thing she cares about most, her mother. momma vamp calls for help to the greek goddess, Nemesis, who tells buffy that the only way she can get her mother back is to undergo a trial at the vampires mansion that night. she is not allowed to bring any weapons and she must come alone. this story shows the incredible bond between slayer and slayeretts. especially angel, who struggles not to rush to buffy's aid. i can't even describe how moving this book was and how amazingly real it seemed. the details made me able to imagine every creature, every deamon and every situation down to the tiniest details. so i would definately reccomend this book to any fan or even non-fans. it is a great book

What happened that summer after sophomore year...
I made of point of finally reading "How I Survived My Summer Vacation, Volume 1" after watching the first season from of "Buffy the Vampire Season" in chronological order, so I could appreciate the attempt of this collection of short stories to answer the question "What REALLY happened that summer after sophomore year?" But it soon became clear that what is involved her is less filling in the gap and more foreshadowing what is to come. It is impossible to read about Giles and Jenny without thinking she is half a year way from having her neck broken by Angelus. The six stories here begin with some notion of continuity, as a demon mage named Absalom has shown up to help the Anointed One after the death of the Master. But that only holds up for half the book. The first story, "Dust" by Michelle West, is the best of the bunch, focusing on Buffy, who is suddenly having visions of the death of everybody she touches, which makes going to live with her father for the summer more difficult than she expected. Nancy Holder's "Absalom Rising" tells of how the Master's minions and Giles, Angel and the Scoobys fought over the Master's bones. Cameron Dokey gets two bites of the apple: "Looks Can Kill" is the second best story in the bunch, focusing on Giles and Angel trying to get along with each other without Buffy to mediate. "No Place Like..." takes us back to Buffy in L.A., where she becomes involved in a nice little ghost story. The last pair of stories try to go for the comedy a bit too much and are hardly worth the effort. "Uncle Dead and the Fourth of July" by Yvonne Navarro finds Jenny dragging Giles to the 4th of July picnic where a group of zombie soldiers show up to have some fun. Then in "The Show Must Go One" by Paul Ruditis has Giles and Jenny going to see a production of "MacBeth" because five of the stage crew are vampires and the other two are Willow and Xander. At the end of this there is but one burning question: Where's Cordelia? Time always stands still between seasons on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," so I am sure we can look forward to future collections of short stories to download detailing what happened each summer, from the summer Buffy ran away to L.A. to the one she spent in her grave. They will probably also be mixed bags like this one, but certainly we can appreciate the effort to fill in the gaps.

Filling in the gap of Buffy summer fun after Season One

A killer collection perfect for summer vacation.
This book is a collection of short stories set between seasons one and two of Buffy. All six of the stories were excellant. In the first one, Dust by Michelle West, Buffy recieves gruesome visions of death every time she touches a person. Buffy must face her own worst fears, and confront what happened the night she died and was revived. The second story is titled Absalom Rising and is by prolific Buffy writer Nancy Holder. A sorceror named Absalom comes to Sunnydale and rallies what is left of the Master's followers. His plan: have them steal the Master's bones so that they can ressurect him. Now Giles, Jenny, Angel, Willow, and Xander must stop Absalom and his followers without the help of Buffy, who is in LA with her Dad. Next up is Looks Can Kill by Cameron Dokey. A shape-shifter who can assume the shape of any living creature attempts to defeat the Scooby Gang by the tried and true method of divide and conquer. His ultimate goal - to capture Buffy by taking on the shape of one of her friends. The fourth story, No Place Like..., is also by Cameron Dokey. It is set in LA and involves Buffy trying to free the trapped spirits of a group of children. Fifth is Uncle Dead and the Fourth of July. At a Fourth of July parade, a group of zombie soldiers try to take over the town, and Giles, Jenny, and Angel must put the zombies back to rest before midnight - or Sunnydale is doomed. The last story is The Show Must Go On by Paul Ruditis. In this story, the backstage crew (all vampires) of a travelling theater group recreate death scenes from famous plays. The gang has to stop the vamps before they kill everyone in the audience. This is a great Buffy book for you to read on your summer vacation. Which, hopefully, will be exciting, but not have any of the horrifying elements of the Scooby Gang's summer vacations.

A DISAPPOINTMENT!
Cameron Dokey has written excellent romantic novels. Although, this hasn't been one of her best novels. The beginning of the story was good although it lacks in the end. The story could have been excellent if she had worked more on the conflict and the characters involving in the novel. I would have liked if Cameron had to portrayed the antagonist more realistic in the novel. Yet, I think this novel is similar to the other novel she did called THE TALISMAN.

Another great book by Cameron Dokey.
Heart's Desire was another great book by Cameron Dokey. It combined romance, suspense, and a bit of horror. Jeanine is an ordinary teenage girl who buys an Egyptian pendant at a second hand store one rainy day. On a class trip to the museum, the pendant awakens a young Egyptian man, who during the time of the Middle Kingdom, was cursed by an unfaithful lover. Jeanine is determined to deal with this situation practically - until she finds herself falling in love with him. I highly reccomend this book to teens who like horror and romance stories.

HEARTS DESIRE
