"Crazed vengeance dooms America. Only one man can save us."
The title above this review is how the book is described on the front of my battered paperback edition. The man who can save us is McCracken, though Johnny Wareagle and Sal Belamo do their parts. The vengeance is from an almost cliched source of villiany, though the treatment is somewhat different in this novel. Read it and you'll see what I mean. In The Omicron Legion blood and thunder is the order of the day, with helpings of angst and soul searching. It's good thriller material. Read it as soon as you can locate your copy. Even if it's a battered copy with a cracked spine and maybe even missing a cover, grab it and read it. Experience it.
Another Rogue Agent Blaine McCracken Thriller!
I have read several Jon Land Books over the years and my favorite ones are the Blaine McCracken series. Not since Ian Fleming's James Bond books have I been intrigued with a repeating character such as Mr. Land had created with McCracken. Each chapter keeps me on the edge of my seat as I find it hard to put the book down as the anticipation of what is going to happen next is too great. The development of the characters are clear and concise in this book as they are in the rest of the series. You will become intrigued in the adventure of Blaine McCracken and his friend Johnny Wareagle as they try to stop a mad man's plot take control of the Government

Being honest with God
Rachel's Cry; Prayer of Lament and Rebirth of Hope, by Billman and Migliore, seeks to recover the biblical tradition of lament and protest, and exemplify its importance in one's spiritual life, especially for those who grieve while facing irrational suffering. The biblical figure Rachel is seen as metaphor "of the wholeness of prayer and spirituality that needs to be reclaimed by Christians today." Rachel's cry, her laminations, "need to be reclaimed in Christian prayer, the liturgy of the church, and pastoral ministry." The prayer of lament is the "unsettling tradition of prayer that includes expressions of complaint, anger, grief, despair and protest to God," found throughout the Bible, most often in the Psalms. One who did not believe in God could not have written these laments; they are honest, open conversations with a living, listening, God. The prayer of lament can co-exists with the prayer of praise and joy; in fact, it must if those that suffer are to be honest with them and with God. "How can the prayer of lament be free and joyful if the realities of broken human life are not named and lamented?" Lament adds to the wholeness of Christian life, and has its place with praise and thanksgiving in a holistic understanding of prayer. I highly recommend this book for those that are grieving or are seeking to comfort those that are suffering.

Not the expected version
I was disappointed by this version, because it is not the original one (listed as 91 minutes). It was okay, but seemed rather choppy. Approximately 14 minutes were edited for this version, likely to omit nudity (for whatever reason) which was mentioned in other reviews of the movie. I cannot understand the prudishness that continues to exist in American movies, and some foreign movies that are distributed here (which are often edited). Not recommended unless you find the 91 minute version, which I'm still looking for.
Interesting for Scouts and Nature Lovers
Beginning in the mountains on some remote Siberian location, Siberian Scout Adventure follows two groups of Russian Scouts as they trek through the woods in anticipation of challenging games and the hopes of earning their scouting batches.
Although a little bland, the movie is light-hearted escapist entertainment - nature lovers will especially like the beautiful shots of the Siberian landscape. Scouts in the USA may be interested in the distinctions between them and the Russian Scouts. The movie does not provide any intellectual or emotional challenges and should be seen as a reality-show-type feature you may see on some cable show in which the camera tags along for the ride.
Siberian Scout Adventure ( Video Description )
"Courage" is the name of the game, and the players are eight freshfaced youngsters from the Prince Alexei Troop of the Siberian Forest pathfinders. These are city boys, some experiencing the wilds of nature for the first time, and it shows in their wondrous eyes as they explore this beautiful new environment. But much more than that, this is a test of both physical strength and mental fortitude, unlike anything they have ever faced before. With military precision, they must tackle daunting obstacles such as rappelling down rocky cliffs, crossing freezing mountain streams, and rafting roaring rapids. Constanly pushing forward, they are hot on the trail of clues that will lead them to their goal. And, boys being boys, there's plenty of fun to be had too. Part death-defying drama, part coming-of-age sweetness, SIBERIAN SCOUT ADVENTURE is stunningly visual tale of eigth youths who enter treacherous terrain as wide-eyed kids, and exit on their way to becoming proud and confident young men.
