A Fantastic Treasure For Your Library
Cousteau's lifelong love of the ocean lives on! He and Philippe Diole wrote this very non-technical book that does a nice, thorough job of describing the general life and features of the octopus, with one chapter on the squid. (So if you love the squid, this is probably not your book.) Written in 1973, the book is still relevant at the beginning of the 21st century. Great full-page color photos of divers and beautiful octopi up close in the natural environment of the octopi; the photos alone are worth buying the book! The true value of the book, though, rests in Cousteau's firm belief (and mine, too) in the inherent intelligence found in the octopus, which has one of the more active brains among all sea creatures, and a comprehensive description of many phases of their lives. What you don't know about this shy, mysterious, and private creature will amaze you, and you will find out much by reading the book. A true treasure for anyone's library regardless of your age!

beautiful, informative intro to a part of Costeau's realm
High quality abundance of color photos, startling B&W shots, and a crisp informative text make this three book set a first rate collection for those wishing more than a cursory view of Whales, Sharks, and Dolphins. Like his National Geographic specials, Cousteau presents his information in a superb and unique manner, peeling back our ignorance of specific phenomena while maintaining an open view on the larger scheme of things.

These are excellent books: informative; educational; and very much alive.

Enjoyable, informative book on a much beloved explorer
This is an older written book about the life of JacquesCousteau, which I read with my son for his school project. It is avery basic book, nothing sophisticated, and my 4th grader was able to read it without a problem. The book was actually an enjoyable read and I learned quite a lot about Cousteau, whom I have admired for a long time. The book was accompanied by black and white pencil drawings, which added to the enjoyability of the book.

Because this book did not go into immense detail, it would not be appropriate for someone doing a school project requiring lots of dates and details.

For any child who wants to learn more about Jacques Cousteau, my son and I would both recommend this book as a very good introduction. Personally, after reading the book, I would like to read an "adult" book to learn more about this most determined and fascinating man.

Jacques-Yves Cousteau: Exploring the Wonders of the Deep(Inn
Jacques-yves Cousteau:Exploring the Wonders of the Deep(Innovative Minds) is a very well written book. Its shows the true wonder of the sea and helps us to fathom our planets true beauty through the ocean. This book is a shining example of a book to capture the heart of Captian Cousteau in the pages of this book. The information in this documentory have shown me the true nature of this world and its ocean. This book is a wonderful resource to the ocean and not only the life, but the mind of Jacques-Yves Cousteau.

don't believe everything you read
Hopefully no one will read this book. Nahas' research is not accurate and it pains me to think that anyone would believe this and would base their lives around this crap.If you read it, read it informed and don't beleive everything you read anyways.

Great research into Marijuana
...Dr. Nahas is a distinguished and respected world-leading authority into the research of marijuana. Study what the world's most renowned environmentalist, Jacques Yves Cousteau said in his prefaces to Dr. Nahas's books...
I personally found Dr. Nahas's research and analysis of marijuana and the results of them in accordance with the law of chemistry and they gave me and my family an inside about the particular chemical structures and substances of marijuana and their dangerous pharmacological effects and influences on the human body and especially the human brain. I can recommend also the book of Dr. Nahas with following titles: "Drug Abuse in the Modern World" (1981) ISBN 0-08-026300-3, "The Great White Plague" (1981) ISBN 0-8397-1700-8, "Cannabis" ISBN 0-8493-8310-2.

It was better than Cats.
Great Book Now I just gotta comment on the guy above me here citing the "Drug And Alcohol Review"......Nice title.....Isn't alcohol a drug????? If they would just take a giant step forward out of the drug war propaganda rhetoric and just be honest. "Alcohol And OTHER Drugs Review"......I could accept that.

Drink up America.
