One of Gygax's last rulebooks
Here it is, the most coveted AD&D hardcover in existence - not only for its rarity, but for the excellence of its rules! Here, you get 128 pages of how to play ninjas, samurai, wu-jen, and more; the elaborate Honor system, oriental magic, and the unique monsters and treasures of Kara-Tur, all in one beautiful reference! The golden age of the 1st edition game, here in one volume.

The Best Forgotten Realms book ever.
This book is fantastic, and adds so much depth to the campaign. It has everything you need to run an Oriental Adventure, or make characters in an oriental setting. TSR has yet to duplicate in any other book the remarkebly well balanced rules of this book. For example, the Ninja in Oriental Adventures is more inetersting, better devolped, and more enjoyable to paly with only a few pages of coverage than anything in the 2nd edition complete book of Ninjas. IF you can find it, buy it, you will not regret it. The only drawbacks are that A) the book is out of print, and B) AD&D is moving to 3rd edition, and Oriental Adventures exists solely as a 1st edition book, so the rule converstaion may or may not proove difficult.

The Ultimate Campaign Ender
This is, Quite honestly, the one of the best campaign ending module ican think of... except perhaps the throne of bloodstone, or Queen of the Demonweb Pits. Of course, if you dont use it as a campaign mod, and use it as a one shot one, your Players will be in for quite a shock after the first chapter, one of, if not THE best opening for pure shock value in any mod i have ever seen. If you can find this one, GET IT, its worth it.

Scary Stuff
Any veteran AD&D player knows the name Vecna, and this module demonstrates why. This a tough, deadly adventure. Vecna and his ex-lieutenant Kas are still around, and, YIKES! are they mean. Good atmosphere, good plotting, nice art, weird creatures, and a cameo by Iuz: what more could you ask for?

When your Child Struggles - The Myths of 20/20 Vision
I was referred to Behavioral Optometrist by another mother who's son was having difficulty reading. The eye doctor tested my kids and gave me this book to read which clearly defines the seven aspects of vision. Each aspect directly relates to what we see or don't see, how we see it and how it affects our comprehension of the 3-D world, language, and reading. It clearly defines behavioral signs that indicate vision difficluties. Both my sons were found to have problems with 2 or 3 aspects of vision. We caught it early when it can be remedied. This book is highly valuable for every parent.

VISION EXPLAINED IN LAYMAN'S TERMS
Those of us who do not have difficulties with sight can not appreciate the complexities involved in our vision. A person can have 20/20 eyesight, but still have difficulty reading from a book or copying from the blackboard due to eye muscle inefficiencies. This book explains in simple terms how the eyes need to coordinate to avoid stress when reading or working. Many times the child can actually be experiencing double vision, but is unable to verbalize that because he/she doesn't realize it isn't normal. That may be the only way they've ever seen letters.

Whether your child is already going through vision therapy or if you are considering the merits of vision therapy, this book will help you understand what therapy can do for you. I strongly recommend it for any parent who's child is having difficulty reading for unexplained reasons.

A staggering achievement. After viewing the exhibition at the San Francisco MoMA, I became very interested in this subject. I've found it to be an amazing introduction into the world of Art/Architecture for those whose interest lies within the graphic arts. Thoroughly enjoyable, highly enlightening. An Excellent Introduction to the Gospels
This book is an excellent choice to introduce anyone to the Gospels, particularly the stories of Jesus' birth, early life, and parables. The stories themselves are clearly told, and beautifully illustrated. They are not embellished with unnecessary or confusing additions, and they stick closely to the Biblical original, so that the stories are easily recognizable when the reader is ready to pick up the Bible itself. The embellishments that are included, and which make this book so much more interesting and informative than most, are in the margins. The author has put in small paragraphs, photos, and drawings that tell about life in the time of Jesus. From the old Roman coins to the staff and crook that would have been carried by the shepherds, these notes help the reader identify with the characters and understand the context of the stories. Beginning with the first page (a map of ancient Israel with notes about Jesus' life and the location of each story) and continuing through the wonderful index, this book will delight and educate any child 9-12 years old, and most older children and adults as well. If you are looking for a way to show someone what the Gospels and the life of Jesus are all about, you could not pick a better place to start than this book.

Conan for AD&D 1st edition
Conan Unchained! is an AD&D (1st edition) module for character levels 10-14. It is set in Robert E. Howard's world of the Hyborian Age, and is designed for use with four pre-generated characters: Conan, Nestor, Juma, and Valeria (though other characters can be substituted). The adventure itself pits the characters against an evil magic-user who has taken control of a Turanian city.

As a real bonus, this module contains information on running a campaign set in the Hyborian Age. Rules are given for "luck points" and fear factors. Also, information is given on the use of spell casters.

This module is absolutely a masterpiece. It is very well written, and has a lot of "goodies." If you can get this work, then do so!

Pacific Northwest cooks and boaters, rejoice
This cookbook should be on the shelf of every good cook on the Northwest coast, and not just those who are in boats. It focuses on locally available ingredients (shellfish, fish, berries, sea asparagus) and ease of preparation. The ingredients are ones you'll be likely to have on hand, and there are excellent photographs of the various shellfish, fish, berries and plants which can be found in the wild. Nearly every recipe is accompanied by a beautiful photograph of the prepared dish. All the dishes can be prepared in a ship's galley (extremely small kitchen). There are sections about provisioning, gathering shellfish, storage of salmon, using a diesel stove, and even how to cook salmon the traditional Indian way -- in a cedar frame over a beach fire. I've tried a number of the recipes and they are delicious!

The Declassified Eisenhower : A Divided Legacy of Peace and Political Warfare

A scholar 'declassifies' the Eisenhower presidency .
I have kept the paperback version of this book nearby ever since it was published. It acts as an antidote to the warm and fuzzy image of 'Ike' as everyone's weekend golfing grandad, and restores a sense of the Cold War's origins and global strategies to Ike's presidency that pursued it covertly in the Western Hemisphere [Guatemala.] Wiesen Cook's scholarly treatment is anything but sensational; its long footnotes often contain the most startling revelations. Revisionists are often simply realists, and this study's realism is long overdue as a corrective of the highly PR-spun 'memorialization' of The Eisenhower Era.
