Interesting....
I read this book in my teens, now in my 30's am reading it again. These types of books amaze me all the time. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece, but for some leisure reading it's okay. I will say it's a page turner at several parts. I may read one or two of her other books in the future.

Not my usual scene
Usually I love mystery/thriller/horror novels however a friend leant me a couple of Jackie Collins and I must say they are a perfect distraction and change. Her books are sexy and have so many sub stories running through them it enthralls you to find out whos doing who of hollywood. I always have this feeling that I should know which character represents who in real life because I'm sure some of the characters are based on real people ! They really draw you in and make you think about the characters I often say to myself "No No don't do that you numbskull argh !" Lovers and Gamblers has a surprising ending and the main character really gives everyone something to think about when he handles a bad situation. I also like how Jackie Collins really differentiates between sex and love.

Sometimes You Just Gotta Roll the Dice!
This book is one of Jackie Collins' best. I just re-read it (over a decade since the last time). Even after the HUNDREDS of books I've devoured since then this book still kept me entertained and on the edge of my seat until the end. You'll love the story and the characters even if they are just a tad dated (70's) in terms of clothes and catch phrases! That only adds to its "classic" status right!

Not as good as Hollywood Wives....
but it was still worth the read. Jackie Collins always knows how to write a fast paced book, and this certainly is no exception.

Hollywood Husbands main characters are: Jack Python, whose one hour weekly talk show is THE show to watch on tv; Howard Solomon is the head of Orpheus Studios and has a lot of power behind the camera; and Mannon Cable is an actor who is still in love with is ex wife Whitney, another super star in her own right. However, Mannon is currently married to a bimbo named Melanie-Shanna, who he married to make Whitney jealous.

The plotlines revolve around these characters, with a cast of many others including a dynamic character named Silver Anderson. Her storyline alone makes this book a good read!

I had a hard time getting into this book when I first started reading it. It wasn't that the pace was slow, but I couldn't figure out where the plot line was going. Too many characters to keep track of in the beginning, but I soon found myself immersed in the story lines.

This may not be my favorite Jackie Collins novel, but I hope those of you who chose Hollywood Husbands as your first Jackie Collins novel try one of her better books, such as the Lucky Santangelo novels, and you'll see why Jackie Collins' fans are hooked.

This was the first Jackie Collins....
....book I ever read and I was hooked from that day! I love her way with words. She has a lot of talent and knows how to keep her readers faithful and hooked. I think the fact that she's spilling the beans on the real Hollywood is the real reason everyone loves her books so much. I was a fan the day I finished the last page of this book. HIGHLY recommend it.

Fantasic page-turner
Hollywood Wives is quite possibly the most ingenius novel since Valley of the Dolls. It's a page turner in every sense of the word--fascinating, exciting, juicy, trashy, and addicting. It definitely ranks as one of my all-time favorite novels. The author masterfully weaves various storylines together, culminating in a nailbiting conclusion, and she does it all with a tongue in cheek tone and unbearable suspense. I hope time is kind to this book, because it deserves a place in literary history. Highly Recommended, but be warned, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PUT IT DOWN!

One of the Best Novels of All Time (Trashy or Otherwise)
I have a degree in English literature, so I've read volumes and volumes of the best pieces of English litererature from the past 400 years. This juicy little novel by Jackie Collins ranks as one of my all-time favorites. While some may critics dismiss it as mere trash, you cannot deny the fascinating character portrayals and unexpected back stories that reminded me of Dickens at his best. The author masterfully weaves various storylines together, culminating in a nailbiting conclusion, and she does it all with a tongue in cheek tone. I hope time is kind to this book, because it deserves a place in literary history.

Hollywood Wives.......WOW!!
This was the first Jackie Collins book I had ever read. It was a WONDERFUL adventure. Jackie introduces you to characters that will undoubtedly feel like close friends when you've completed the story. Her story flows at a very good pace to always keep you surprised. She finds ways to interject humor to keep her characters in a very "human" light.

At first, I was skeptical when presented this book; however, now I am a TRUE fan and have read over a dozen Jackie Collins' novels. It's a WONDERFUL ESCAPE............

Another thrill-ride from master of Hollywood romance/mystery
Jackie Collins has done it again with "Power." She's put together a page-turner that will keep you reeling, with characters you'll care about and a plot that is ever-thickening. Frankly, I'm already "obsessing" about the next book in this miniseries, "Obsession!"

POWER INDEED! by M. Boucher
I've just finished reading the latest from popular fiction Jackie Collins, and let me tell you it is one hell of a ride! Like Stephen King and John Saul before her, Collins has peened a serial book (divided in four parts) which tells the tale of Madison Castelli, a journalist from the Big Apple, who goes to L.A. to interview Freddie Leon, the head of one of the biggest talent agency in the business. Unbeknownst to her(and us) there's a killer on the loose who murders high-priced call-girls.

Who is the murderer? Kevin Page, the back-stabbing partner of Freddie Leon? Jimmy Sica, the anchorman with the killer(not a hint!) looks? His brother Jake, the photograher? Or is it Bobby, the evasive husband of sexpot Salli T. Turner?

True to the form, Collins has sketched a wonderful, scandalously who-done-it novella that grab the reader and never let go. Her characters are all appealing, especially the one of Madison. She has the fisty don't-bleep!-with-me- Lucky Santangelo attitude, which is always a welcoming change from the tiring submassive women-characters who dominate the litterary world.

Well written, intricately structured, POWER is Collins at her best. She has successfully achieved what she'd set out to do: keep us reading way into the night!

Jackie at her best
This book was very fast-paced; an easy read. Jackie is one of my favorite authors. I can't wait for her to finish the series. If you are a Jackie Collins fan, you won't be disappointed.

Another raunchy novel by Jackie Collins
This novel, more than any other Jackie Collins novel I've read to date, seems to concentrate on one thing: sex. It seems to be the main theme of the entire book.

Cleo James is the main character. She's a British journalist working for a magazine called Image, and she spends her time interviewing celebrities. And, she's good at it. In the mean time, she finds her husband having sex in his office with one of her closest friends, and soon her life turns upside down. She decides to live it up as a free single woman (as a way of getting revenge), and meets several men that turn HER life upside down.

Another interesting character is Muffin (no last name). She's a celebrity in her own right, being a centerfold model in England. Her married boyfriend Jon, a professional photographer, helps her find her way to the top. Their dreams take them to America, where they hope to make it BIG time. She meets some other celebrities that help change her life around in a big way.

Throw in a few more racy characters and you have a Jackie Collins novel. This is one of her trashier novels, and if you like that sort of stuff, you'll love this!

Scenes From Real World of Women
I had read this in the moon light, which made me a sensation about this book. It potraits the scenes of sexual life of divorced women. The scenes are not virtual you do feel that it is happening around you. It focuses the real sexual prblems of divorced women and how they solve it. If a man will read this book he will go out to find any divorced women caling for the help and suerly he will be on the top of someone. I do recommend that you must read this book it will get you involved in some sampathies about divorced women. I myself read this book twice and some scenes countless times.

I had owened this book but unfortunately lost it. If Someone can donate this book do ask my address by e-Mail: zee_shani@usa.net

unsatisfying, but still a page-turner
Thrill had all of Jackie Collins ingredients--sex, a fast-pace, beautiful movie stars, secrets, a stalker. But the book wasn't as thought out as Jackie Collins's other page-turners. Lara Ivory, a gorgeous movie star was being stalked by Alison Sewell--not giving away any plot here. It was established right away that Alison was keeping tabs on Lara, though Lara was unaware. And a female stalker was fresh! And readers are allowed into Alison's mind. It was rare learning what made a baddie tick. But that alone doesn't save the tome. While Lara was being harassed, she was busy making a movie. She didn't complain to her friends, or go to the police about being stalked. She was rather blase about it. In fact, she spent more time swooning over the dashing, enigmatic Joey Lorenzo. Her thoughts should have been preoccupied with a lunatic keeping her under surveillance. She even went on a nocturnal walk with Joey shortly after meeting him. For all she knew, Joey could have been her stalker! In addition to Lara's disregard for her safety, a child molester was allowed to go free. Hey, revenge is a prevalent them in Jackie Collins novels, so why was this allowed? Geez! The book was flawed, yet, easy to read, but disappointing. Usually, Jackie Collins writes strong women--women who can be role-models--not airheads. And the bad guys usually get their comeuppance. Big time. So, I'd wait for "Thrill" to come out in paper-back. It ain't worth the hard-cover price.

engrossing
I think the author did an excellent job with this book. I am a big Jackie Collins fan and I was not disappointed with "Thrill". I found the relationship w/Joey and Lara very touching. Eventually everyone got what they deserved. EXCELLENT READING!!!!!!!!!!

Another page turner by Jackie Collins
Jackie Collins has done it again, with another book that can't be put down once you have started to read it. She keeps you guessing almost to the very end, who the mystery man is. After a ways into the book, I figured Lara would end up with Joey in the end, but I didn't want her to until almost the very end, when he told his side of his life, then I wanted them to be together. The ending is very suspensful, with many different storylines all going on at once, which kept me reading until late into the night to finish. When I was finally done, I was ready for another new Jackie Collins book, because I have read them all. This is definitely a must read!

Put yourself in their shoes!
This is the first Jackie Collins book that I have read in at least 5 years. It has been a long time and I can see what I have been missing. It was a quick, easy read and even though there is a little bit over 500 pages, I polished it off very quickly. I devoured the juicy details of the Hollywood lives that are depicted in this book. It was a definite page turner and I felt that Collins really brought the characters to life. At first, I was a little bit unsure if I would like the characters. But after awhile I felt myself sympathizing with almost all of them in some form or another. I am generally not attracted to this genre, but I must say that Jackie is a winner. I am once again hooked by her writing style and can't wait to reread the first one. This book will take you to LA behind the scences and take you to places that you usually only see in the movies!

Couldn't Put It Down
Granted, Jackie Collins is not the best writer in the world, and she doesn't pretend to be. Her characters are cliched and their dialogue is at times painful to read. What she does write here, however, is a juicy page turner, a delicious guilty pleasure. I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next, and when I got to the end I was satisfied, yet sad that the adventure was over. This is definitely one of Collins' best novels in a long time. Still, nothing has been able to top the original Hollywood Wives for interesting characters, shocking surprises and jaw-dropping twists and turns.

Great Summer Reading!!!!
Hollywood Wives - The New Generation is my favorite summer read so far! I love the fact that Michael Scorsinni is back from Hollywood Kids. All the new characters are the usual Collins mix of glamour, power and sex! I highly recommend this book. Jackie as usual has outdone herself again!

Enjoyable Easy Read
I read a lot of Jackie Collins' books. The thing I like about her books is they are easy reads, entertaining about Hollywood and right to the point. I recommend this book. I had it read quickly and was entertained to the end.

I LIKED IT!!
I thought this books is pretty good. Since it was written to be 4 separate books what i didnt like was that in the beggining of everybooks she would talk about the one that i just finished. Overall her characters were well illustrated in my mind by the way that jackie collins had intended.

SUPERB!!
These were the first ever Jackie Collins books i ever read and I was hooked within the first chapter of "Power". I had to read them in installments as they were released as individual books over here in the UK. I had never beeen interested in so called "love stories" as I thought Collins wrote but the murders, sex and sleaze kept me well hooked. I love the way each book ends with a cliff hanger, likle the un-named dead blonde. And the last book just closes everything off perfectly. I am now well and truly hooked on Jackie Collins' books and I'd advise everyone to read the Lucky series, they are just ace. HAPPY JACKIE COLLINS READING A'BODY!!

Jackie Collins is an out-of-touch goddess
I LOVE Jackie Collins but she really needs to update her sense of style. Her 70's books are dead-on in terms of fashion and dialogue, but she doesn't have an ear or eye for the younger generation. It's still a fun book, but in the same way that California Dreams can be a fun TV show.

This was a surprisingly good suspense book!
I have not read a Jackie Collins book in a while, and had a little trouble starting this one. However, once the characters were developed, I was totally hooked. I truly had trouble putting this one down after a few pages. I was so involved I found myself wanting to try and tell the cops to protect Jordanna and Cheryl, a long time before they knew that's what they should be doing. I was glad to see some family reconciliations taking place, too, at the end of the book.

Where Does She Get These Ideas From?
For a while, I gave up on Jackie Collins because her readings had become predictable. Basically, most (if not all) of her settings revolve around rich kids getting in trouble; self-centered Hollywood celebraties and insane fans. However, her style of writing is incaptivating and still makes me want to pick up her books once in awhile. Collins is a temporary addiction.

Hollywood Kids has the same type enscenerio: glamor lifestyle, careless Hollywood parents and bratty grown up children. But, I really got into it toward the middle of the book when the girls got into trouble (like always), I think that's what makes any book exciting. This time trouble looked for them--which was refreshing for a change and that is why I liked this book.

There were too many characters that I couldn't keep up with until later on as I read--because the girls became the focus in the story. Since I was expecting the Collins' usual, the first few chapters were slow and boring. It got better.

I would like to read about REAL characters for a change--no more about Hollywood spoiled-rotten children, celebraties and their parents.

Overall, Collins is still a great writer.

Foreplay for her next book
Although I am a Jackie Collins fan, I found this book to be quite predictable. This story just sets you up for her next installment in the story of "Madison". I found this book to be a very quick read. I kept wondering when we would find out everything dealing with Madison's parents, alas nothing except in the last 10 pages we find out that she has a half-brother? Did anyone else see this coming? What was the deal with Rosarita and her family? How were they important to the story? They never had anything to do with Madison execpt for her passing Rosarita's husband while he was jogging. I truly enjoyed the books Ms. Collins wrote dealing with the Santangelo's, if she is try to recapture that feeling with this one, she missed. Hopefully the next installment will be more eye opening, if not bring back Lucky!

Beautiful people having lots of sex...
I like Jackie Collins books for a light read on the beach. Her older books, the Lucky series, Hollywood Wives, and Hollywood Husbands I particularly liked. This is trashy, averagely written "literature", so I take it for what it is.

Although this book is fairly entertaining, it is inherently flawed. One thing Jackie Collins is good at is creating a variety of characters and bringing them all together in the end. She does that in all her books, and Lethal Seduction is no different. However, this book nowhere near measures up to her previous efforts. In fact, it almost feels like a duplicate of all her other books.

I'm so tired of all the women being the most beautiful thing on the face of the Earth. Sure, they may be famous, but not all famous people are beautiful! Second, all of her characters speak the exact same way. Some of them may speak a bit more slangy, but the vulgarity abounds from every character. I can't imagine some of these characters saying the things she has them say. All everyone does is have sex, and lots of it. Come on, how about some depth! The Gem character was ridiculous, yet another perfect and innocent wannabe actress. Dexter talks to her for five minutes, and he's in love? And he practically stalks her from Vegas and she doesn't think he's a nutcase?

I don't know...this book is good for a day at the beach, but don't expect anything groundbreaking, and don't expect anything different from any of her other novels.

Typical Jackie Collins
This book is written in the true Jackie Collins fashion. Tales of the glitz and glamour of New York and Hollywood. That is what makes it so great. The book is mainly about Madison Castelli, the main character in her LA Connections series. It was great bringing her back and being able to see more of her life and history. It also brings in some unusual characters, although they are all the usual type of characters that you find in Jackie Collins novels.

Of course there's raunchy sex. If there wasn't, it wouldn't be Jackie Collins. She truly has a talent for writing and her characters come alive in every book she's written. This one is no exception. I haven't even finished the book yet, but I'm writing this review because it is such a great read.

She does an excellent job referencing other characters from several of her other books as well. Some that you'll hear mentioned in Lethal Seduction are Kris Phoenix, Lucky Santangelo and Charlie Dollar.

I look forward to the rest of the book. I hope her future books further develop some of the minor characters in this book. And of course another Lucky Santangelo novel would be greatly welcomed, though I'm not sure that will happen.
