While My Pretty One Sleeps
I really enjoyed this book.I especially liked the ending. It was a great storie of mystery, horror, murder, and love. I would recamend this book to eny one who likes mysteries, and murders. I also really like the auther she is a great wrighter.

Full of Suspense !!
As little as I like to read books which involve the abuse of children, I found this to be a gripping novel which covered the condition of Multi Personality Disorders as well as the often common reason for murder--greed! Laurie is a very beautiful girl who was kidnapped at the age of 4 and was held and abused sexually for 2 years.During the years of abuse, the tiny child learned to retreat into her mind to block out whar was happening. After her rescue, she made wonderful progress until the accidental death of her parents, which made her alter personalities emerge. When one of her teachers is murdered and she is connected with the scene, her sister Sarah, a prosecutor with the District Attorney's Office, becomes aware that the murder may have been committed by one of her alter personalities. Meanwhile Laurie's kidnappers,Bic and Opal have become TV evangelists and are intent on continuing their control over Laurie's fragile mind. This is a suspensful thriller and will keep you glued to the book till the end.

Don't start it unless you have the time to finish it!
"You Belong To Me" by Mary Higgins Clark was an intriguing and suspenseful murder mystery. Even after I finished the story I wanted to still continue reading about the private and professional lives of the characters that were presented in such interesting details.

Excellent Readings of Excellent Stories!
I actually own the Audible.com copy of these books, and purchased it because I had heard the Audio Book of Lucky Day and wanted to hear it again and share it with others.

Lucky Day and Trapped are among the best of the 5 stories, as they are fairly short and keep you very interested the whole time. The longer features are also good however they are read by males with lower voices and were harder to hear because I was on an Airplane, so I did not listen to them as much.

Lucky Day has a very great climax and you will be shocked and amused as the narrator dramtically reveals the last few paragraphs.

Trapped is a less known Dean R. Koontz story, however it is a very good one, and is quite believable!

I share these treasures with my friends in my car, and long plane trips seem much shorter with this book! If you don't buy it, find someone who did because there is hours of entertainment you shouldn't miss!

You will be on the edge of your seat . . .
This cassette is worth it just to hear "Lucky Day" by Mary Higgins Clark and "Trapped" by Dean Koontz. In fact, this cassette hooked me on Mary Higgins Clark. Both stories are full of suspense. You will be sitting on the seat of your chair trying to figure out in "Lucky Day" who killed the old man, why, and why the woman's husband is suddenly acting so strange. At the end, you experience the same shock the characters do and rethink your own relationship with the one you love and trust the most. In "Trapped," super intelligent lab rats escape and take on the task of of trapping the humans that created them before they themselves become trapped. When the rats blow up a farmhouse on their own accord, you begin to wonder if the rats have actually won.

Mysteriously interesting
Being an ardent Agatha Christie fan, Mary Higgins Clark was recommended to me and this was the first volume of her books that I read.

There aren't any detectives like Hercules Poirot or Miss Marple still the stories keep you glued to the book till you reach the end.

'Weep no more, my lady' has a certain Christie's touch. The story is about a young woman Elizabeth. Her sister, Leila is murdered and Ted, her sister's fiance is convicted, with Elizebeth being the only witness. There are other charachters like Leila's friend the Baron and Baroness, her agent, another rival actress. The interesting thing is that each charachter has some motive for the murder. And finally the real murderer turns out to be... (You have to read the book to find out).

'Stillwatch' is about a young reporter who is making a television documentary. But what she does NOT know is that this documentary is linked to her past and will affect her present life. Not much of a mystery here but still an interesting read.

'A cry in the night' reminded me of Alfred Hitchcock's movie Psycho and hence the reason for 4 stars.

A good selection for those who have a preference for mysteries (minus politics, violence and sex).

A sure thriller for all those SUSPENSE LOVERS!
This was the second Mary Higgins Clark book Ive read and I must say the best. My first being silent night. The contents are very intruging, shocking, and captivating. I highly reccomend this book. I gave it 4 stars because some points are too into depth. As a whole this book was intelligently awesome.

Stillwatch
If you enjoy these suspenseful books, then this is the book for you. It's a book about a woman named Pat, who is a reporter for a local cable news station that is doing a segment on Senator Abbigal Jennings and how she may become the first female Vice President. Along the way she comes into problems. Pat is starting to get threats about the airing of the segment. What could the Senator be hiding that could put herself at danger to not get elected the first female Vice President?

Suspenseful
I like Mary Higgins Clark and her book A Stranger Is Watching though not my favorite of her books is good and suspenseful and I recommend it to any fans of this author.

Great author; great book
Four stars go to a wonderful author with several published books. A Stranger Is Watching was particularly intriguing. It keeps the reader interested and not wanting to stop. The short chapters make it an easy book to get hooked on. The mother of a family is killed and a local teen is found guilty of the murder. Ronald Thompson knows he did not kill Nina Peterson but he will be executed in just fifty-two hours. Steve Peterson, the husband of the victim and his new girlfriend, Sharon Martin have different points of view on capital punishment. Sharon and six year old Neil, son of Steve and Nina, get kidnapped by a man for ransom. Only Mary Higgins Clark could write a story this twisted and terrifying. With a good storyline to keep readers of all ages turning to read just "one more chapter," I would recommend this book to anybody that likes suspense. The only negative thing about this book is the way there are so many different groups of people and every chapter switches to tell about a different group each time. The first three chapters are kind of boring but once you get into the meat of the story and discover what is going on, there is no putting it down.

A stranger is watching
A stranger is watching by Mary Higgins Clark is a great book. It is about a little boy, whose mom was murdered a few years ago and his dad's new girl friend. They get kidnapped and are held for ransom. Now, I don't want to give the book away, but it is a great book with many twists and turns. Mary Higgins Clark, being the great author she is, does a great job of tying other people into the story.

A stranger is watching was a great book to me because of all of the suspense. The book even shows a little bit about working together and liking each other gets you a long way. If you like suspense and are a fan of Mary Higgins Clark books, this is a book you will definitly want to read!

Silent Night

Sleep In Heavenly Peace
Mary Higgins Clark has a countless number of excellently written books, and this one is just another addition to her wonderful collection. In SILENT NIGHT, Clark writes another super Christmas time thriller.

With her husband stricken with Leukemia, Catherine Dornan is about to take her two boys, Michael and Brian, to the hospital to present him with a very special gift. While out on the streets, Catherine accidentally drops her wallet with this special gift, a St. Christopher medal, and Brian chases after the woman, Cally, who picks it up. From there, the novel really takes off as Brian is eventually kidnapped and held captive by an escaped prisoner on a race to the Canadian border in the midst of a heavy snowstorm.

In this ferociously fast-paced story, Clark manages to mesh together an outstanding cast of diverse characters, all of whom tie in to the search for Brian. The well-developed plot is constantly changing, leaving the reader in a pleasant, rapid page-turning frenzy.

Overall, this is a very well-written book that is hard to put down. Clark is an amazing storyteller, and her imagery and detailed writing make for an enjoyable read. The suspense will have you on the edge of your seat, as this is not a calm and silent night.

Silent Night
I loved the novel. It was absolutely prefect. When I read the novel, I couldn't put it down! It keeps you on the edge of your seat through the whole book. Mary Higgins Clark just has a way of keeping you into the novel until you finish one her suspense-filled books. In the novel Silent Night, a lady named Catherine Dornan lost her wallet and her son. Her wallet fall out of her handbag, and her son ran after it. A lady named Cally Hunter stole her wallet and ran with it. However, when Cally got home her bother who is an escape killer, was there waiting for her. Brian, Catherine's son followed Cally home and consequently, Jimmy; Cally's bother, kidnapped him. The only thing Brian Dornan was worried about was getting back to his mother before Christmas and for him to get back the St. Christopher medal to his father, so he can get well. Risking his own life and safety...what a kid! You'll have to read the book to find out how the story ends. In my opinion, all of the characters in the novel are plausible because their actions and reactions are very believable, by how Mary Higgins Clark wrote it. I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did.

Good Readin'
Mary Higgins Clark has done it again. Her wonderfully written novel, Silent Night, was as thrilling as a roller coaster ride in a snowstorm. The story starts out by introducing the Dornan family. Mother, Catherine, and her two sons, oldest Michael, youngest Brian. While visiting the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, Brian notices his mother's wallet drop. It is then picked up by a woman, Cally, who runs off to her apartment, followed by ten year old Brian. When at the apartment, Cally's brother, an escaped felon, takes the wallet and the poor frightened Brian. Jimmy and Brian drive(in a stolen car)to Canada, so Jimmy can escape prosecution. This horrifying ride could be Brian's last. From the beginning word to the last, there is never a dull moment in Silent Night. Author, Mary Higgins Clark's words flow from her mind to the page where her readers get hooked. Many times, Clark uses very descriptive words that are combined with great ideas. The mood through out the book is hopeful, yet depressing at the same time. Mary Higgins Clark uses innocent childern, obedient to their mother, and shoves them into a scary, yet real world situations. Many childern, good or bad, are kidnapped in this society. Silent Night shows the happy ending from a particular situation. As the book, Literary Lifelines states, "She [Mary Higgins Clark] often writes stories about childern in danger, as well as stories about woman living in isolated places." The plot seems to pour from the depths of Clark's deepest fears, joys, and opinions. Her idea of characters and their personalities were magical. "[Jimmy]Sideons has a screw loose, sir." During the car ride toward Canada, the young hostage, Brian, had a lucky medal that his ill father gave to him. "...He [Brian] closed his hand over it [the St. Christopher medal] and mentally pictured the strong saint who carried the little kid across the dangerous river, who had taken care of his grandfather, who would make his dad better, and who... he didn't finish but in his mind he could see himself on the shoulders of the saint." Clark shows the faith of a piece of medal. But, that piece of medal, will ultimately affect his outcome. The descriptive words Clark uses are imaginative and magical. "For a moment there was silence and then the quiet was shattered as the sirens screamed and wailed." Her writing suggests she has experienced these situations. Those who have been through it all are the best storytellers. If you enjoy a book that keeps you on the edge of your seat, read Silent Night. Mary Higgins Clark's magical words blend together with the real world characters plus the magnificent imagery to create a spellbinding story that ends in suspense.

Mary Higgins Clark Disappoints Again!
MHC is probably the most overrated author I have ever encountered. America's "Queen of Suspense?" Her stories me to sleep, and I consider myself a fairly big reader. And I'm female, too. Not one character in this story has any depth whatsoever--I've seen less one-dimensional characters in children's books! The main character is a total snob who had me hoping that she'd be offed. There was a whole plethora of characters difficult to keep track of, made even more difficult due to the fact that there was nothing distinct about any of them. I'm sick of all of these uncreative, formulaic wastes of paper spewed out every year by MHC. The only reason I read this book was because my flight was delayed four hours, and I refused to quit, seeing how I spent some of my own good money on it. Every single book of hers is the same, the only thing different is that the characters have different names: shallow, snobby damsel in distress, spurns the advances of a love interest, always wealthy, always lives in NYC, always of Irish background, always nearly killed, always pulled out of danger unrealistically, always falling for the love interest in the end. I say MHC either needs to come up with a different premise or switch careers. Her only effort that was, to me, creative, original, and even mildly suspenseful was "A Cry in the Night." That book at least had an interesting psychological twist in it. But for the rest of them, tough luck. Unless you're eleven years old and you are unable to distinguish a thoughtful, interesting novel from one written by a hackneyed, over-hyped author who was never that talented to begin with, ignore anything written by MHC. Instead, watch some paint dry. I guarentee you you'll be more entertained.

Keeps you guessing.
When Emily Graham decides to leave the big city, she purchases her ancestral home in Spring Lake, and along with it some long-buried secrets. Emily is still emotionally and mentally recuperating from being stalked, although her stalker has been captured and jailed, or has he? Somebody is watching Emily, taking pictures of her, and leaving them for her to find. To add to her troubles, the day she closes on her house, two bodies are discovered buried in her back yard. Over a century ago, three young women in Spring Lake disappeared without a trace (one of them being Madeline Shapley, sister of Emily's great-great-grandmother), and it would seem as though history is repeating itself when women start disappearing on the exact dates as the girls did over one hundred years before. The author does a wonderful job of taking us from one scene to another without being confusing, and keeps the reader guessing as to who might be after Emily now while throwing in some surprising plot twists. Definitely a must read for fans of Mary Higgins Clark.

Outstanding reading
Mary Higgins Clark takes her readers for a trip into the minds of mysteries. On The Street Where You Live, presents parallel murders committed 100 years apart. The curious reader will try to desipher how the comparisons of these past murders with the present ones fit together. I loved her main character who finds living in her great-grand-aunts home in Spring Lake the entrance to this mystery. She reveals to us how her great grand aunts older sister sat on the same porch she now sits on and suddenly disappeared never to be heard from again. That is until they begin to dig up her backyard for a pool and low a behold are great grand aunt is discovered. Along with someone else. This book grabs you into this murderess mystery and makes sure you won't stop reading until the 1890 and 1990's come together. I think you will enjoy it, as I did. I plan to read other novels by her.

A suspenseful novel a woman who witnesses a murder
This exciting novel is about a woman named Lacey Farrell, who lives in Manhattan and is a real estate agent. One day she is witness to the murder of Isabelle Waring, whose daughter, Heather, was killed in a car accident. Lacey is placed in the witness protection program, and sent to live in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Before Isabelle died, she made Lacey promise to give her daughter's journal to her father, and asked her to read it too. Isabelle was convinced that Heather's death was not an accident. So Lacey takes the journal, gives the original copy to the police, gives a copy to Heather's father, and makes a copy for herself. But then she gets into trouble with the police, because they say that she could be charged with removal of evidence from a crime scene. While Lacey is in Minneapolis, somehow the murderer of Isabelle Waring has managed to track her down. I enjoyed reading this novel, because I liked being kept in suspense and not knowing what would happen next. I recommend this book to people who like to read suspenseful books with unpredictable plots. This novel is so unpredictable, it will keep readers guessing throughout the entire book.

Another EXCELLENT book by the Queen of Suspense!
Pretend You Don't See Her is one of Mary Higgins Clark's best. It starts off with a bang and keeps your adrenalin up through out the entire book. You won't be able to put down this incredibly suspenseful novel. I suggest you read it.

The book is about a woman named Lacey Farrell, a real estate agent. One day, while showing a skyline co-op, Lacey is witness to a murder, and the dying words of the victim. The victim tells Lacey to take her dead daughter's jounal, which Lacey makes a copy for herself, then gives to the police. Lacey is put in the witness protection program and sent to live in Minneapolis. She then discovers that the killer has traced her to Minneapolis. Lacey heads back to New York, determined to find out who's behind the death's of two women, before she herself is killed.

Wonderful, as always
Pretend You Don't See Her is Mary Higgins Clark's clever and terrifying new book. It is the story of Lacey Farrell, a young real estate agent on the Manhattan scene. In the mist of selling a late young lady's skyline co-op, Lacey is witness to the murder of her client, Isabelle Waring, the mother of the late Heather Landi. Ms. Waring is convinced that her attacker is after a journal kept by her daughter up until the day she died. Although Lacey hands over the journal to the police, it is not before she makes a copy for herself-a move that could turn out to be almost fatal. After numerous threats are made on her life, Lacey is placed in the witness protection program and moves to Minneapolis. Here, Lacey must assume a totally new identity until the killer can be brought to trial. At first, it was hard for Lacey to assume her new identity of Alice Carroll, but eventually she grows into the new Lacey. While in Minneapolis, Lacey becomes attracted to Tom Lynch, a local radio-show host. Tom and "Alice" go on a few dates, but due to all the confusion, Lacey breaks off their relationship. Shortly after her break with Tom, Lacey discovers that the killer has traced her to Minneapolis. Fearing for her life, Lacey returns home to Manhattan. Left with only her courage and the clues in Heather Landi's journal, Lacey races against the clock in search of identifying who was after her and the journal. Will Lacey Farrell live long enough to put her murderer away for good? Mary Higgins Clark combines murder, mystery, and fun together to make her fifteenth novel one of her best yet.

Lottery Winner's a winner!
I love this suspenseful thriller It kept on the edge of my sit with each story. I could hardly put the book down. Mary Higgins Clark is a great mystery/suspense writer, which is why she is called the "Queen of Suspense." This book is a plus. If you haven't read it, you need to go and pick up this award-winning novel.

pretty good!!!!!!!!!
The Lottery Winner by: Mary Higgins Clark The book is a collection of murder mysteries. My favorite section is "Bye-Bye Baby Bunting;" it is about a baby who is stolen from a hospital room. It is suspenseful, but short. My least favorite section is "The Lottery Winner;" it is about someone's stolen diamonds and Aliviah and Willy came to the rescue and turns out someone gets killed. It dragged on and got boring. Overall the book was good and I would recommend it to anyone who likes these types of books.

I loved this book and so would anyone who likes a good read.
I think that Mary Higgins Clark is a wonderful writer. In almost any book of hers I read it changes drastically at the end. I love the suspense she gives you in all of her books.

What happened?
This book was the most boring Mary Higgins Clark book I have ever read. I usually love her books and can't put them down, but I found myself struggling to finish this one. I mean, most of the story takes place in a NURSING HOME! Wooo, that's thrilling. I'm normally a huge fan of Clark's, but I have to say that this book disappointed me greatly. To anyone who's never read Clark's books before, I recommend "A Cry in the Night" or "Pretend You Don't See Her" and advise you to skip this one.

This is a great book!
Photographer Maggie Holloway is reunited with her stepmom Nuala, who hasn't seen Maggie for a long time. Nuala then wants Maggie to stay with her for a couple of weeks in Newport. When Maggie arrives, she finds out that Nuala has been murdered. Maggie then finds out that Nuala's house is left in her name. Maggie wants to know who did this and why they did it to her stepmom. She also wants to know what the intruder was looking for when they trashed the house. Who was it and why her??

Maggie just wanted a peaceful, fun week with her stepmom that she hadn't seen for ever. This is the first book I have read by Mary Higgins Clark. Its a great book. The book hooked me at the beginning and I found every chance that I could to read it. I've never liked reading much until this book. I could read her books over and over again. The only confusing thing was there was a lot of character and I did get them mixed up from time to time. It's not really a gushy-mushy book. It's fairly easy to read. I do recommend this book to anyone who likes mysterys, and easy reading.

Monlight Becomes You
This Mary Higgins Clark book is an extremely suspenseful read. I liked this book because of the way Clark decided to let Maggie and Naula meet. It was a wonderful way to start the unpredictable novel. This book is so thrilling that it will have you reading day and night. Taking place in Rhode Island, this book is about Maggie Holloway, a successful fashion photographer. While accompanying Liam Moore, Maggie's good friend, to a Moore-Payne reunion, she is reunited with her once stepmother, Naula Moore. In order to "catch up on things", Naula invites Maggie down from her Massachusetts apartment to come to her home for a week. Upon arriving there, she finds out that a burglar on a random break-in had killed Naula. Desperate to find out whom the murder is; Maggie explores the world of Latham Manor, the wealthy nursing home Naula was supposed to live in, and the cemetery where Naula was buried. This book's ending is so suspenseful; you will be on the edge of your seat, reading until you come to the last page.

Entertaining but could have been better
This book is vintage Mary Higgins Clark in that it has a fast-moving plotline that makes for effortless reading. What I have trouble with, however, is that the ending seems a bit rushed and that the so-called heroine never had an inklinhg of who the killer was until he came knocking on her door. Also, in trying to set up everyone as a suspect, most of the characters were underdeveloped and the whole book in general less involved than her earlier works. It seems to me that lately, the queen of suspense seems to have found a formula that worked and decided to stick with it. As a result, her previous three novels have been so similar in style and presentation that they were simply, well, forgettable. The fact that I was able to guess accurately who the killer is the moment he was introduced in all three books was another reason why I have stopped buying her books. For those of you who's looking for good/entertaining read, I strongly suggest that you try some of her earlier works such as "A Cry in the Night," "A Cradle Will Fall," and "I'll Be Seeing You." You'll definitely get more out of your money that way.

Ms. Clark Sr., is a class act; great new book!
Mary Higgins Clark is a winner. Usually the classic writers who are working on their 10+ book, lose some pep and vigor in their newer works.

I am glad to say that Ms. Clark, Sr., hasn't missed a beat. Her characters are clear, I like the suspense of "which of the men characters are the real bad guy?" I liked the characterization of the competition between Dr. Chandler and her sister. I felt the pain of Dr. Chandler's mother after being jilted for "Binky." That was a great touch!

I could see the whole thing unfolding. I like the Mother of Rachel, the rich woman who was dying and wanted to know what had happened to her only child.

This story has wonderfully engaging sub-plots and underlying theories.

Great Read. Quick Read. I finished in 2 days of solid late night reading.

Looking forward to the next one!

You Belong to Me: A fast and very entertaining read
Mary Higgins Clark has a talent. From the first page she has captured your interest and the book becomes an instant page-turner. Dr. Susan Chandler of New York City, through her radio show, becomes entangled in the web of a serial killer. Many characters are brought in to the novel including friends, family, investigators, and even some love interests of Susan. The entire mystery is unfolded through the eyes of all of these different people whichs makes for a very interesting read. The killer himself in Mary Higgins Clark books are always one of the characters talked about. The suspense never ends in this novel as you try to put all the clues together. The plot was excellent but the writing style was what really shinned in this book. Every sentence was significant to unsolving the mystery. Clark was able to describe everything in enough detail to make it like a movie in your head while keeping it to the point. If your looking for fast paced, heart racing novel for pure enjoyment, You Belong to Me by Mary Higgins Clark is the way to go!
