WONDERFUL,WONDERFUL STORIES
THIS WAS A DEFINITE BOOK WITH MANY STORIES THAT I COULD NOT PUT DOWN UNTIL I HAD READ THEM ALL. THE PLOTS WERE GOOD , THE CHARACTORS WERE BELIEVABLE, AND THE LENGH OF EACH STORY WAS RIGHT. WONDERFUL READING!

Four Enchanting Tales of Magic and Love!
"Once Upon a Castle" is a fabulous anthology by four very talented romance authors.

In Nora Roberts' "Spellbound," Calin travels to Ireland and ends up at the front door of the bewitchingly beautiful Bryna. Together, in the culmination of a thousand year spell, these two must fight an evil sorcerer who can only be conquered by true love. Calin must return Bryna's love freely, or the evil sorcerer will triumph and all will be lost. This is written in true NR style and will have readers captivated.

Next is Jill Gregory's "Castle Doom," in which Arianne sets out on a mission to save her brother Marcus from his evil captor, Julian. She finds an ally in Nicholas, an old friend of her brother, and together they must fight the evil Julian in order to save Marcus and free the people from his tyranny. In the midst of their dangerous plight, Arianne and Nicholas unexpectedly fall in love. This story was suspenseful and romantic and highly entertaining.

In "Falcon's Lair" by Ruth Ryan Langan, Felicity travels from her home in America to Ireland to help Oliver, an old friend of her father, with a terrible curse. Something is not quite right in this majestic old castle and Felicity finds help from a handsome spirit (Gareth). With Gareth's help Felicity begins to see that this home is filled with betrayal and sets out to save Oliver and his son. However Gareth and Felicity fall in love and break the rules that govern Gareth to be together, for which there will be dire consequences. This story will touch your heart and leave you believing in magic.

The final story is "Dragonspell" by Marianne Willman and I think this one was my favourite (it's just so hard to choose because they are all so good!). Princess Tressalara, with the help of 2 sorcerer's apprentices and a dashing and dangerous rebel named Cador, sets out to reclaim her kingdom from the evil usurper, Lector. Tressalara joins Cador's rebel camp originally as Trev, a young boy, but Cador immediately sees beneath her plain clothes and dirty face to the beautiful woman beneath. Cador and Tressalara fall head over heels in love with each other and enjoy a wonderful romance that readers will love. This tale will sweep you away to the magical land of Amelonia and leave you feeling fulfilled and satisfied.

This is an absolutely superior anthology. If you enjoy a good "happily ever after" and a bit of magic then you will LOVE this book. All four stories are well-written and lots of fun. You will be sad to see this one come to an end!

Four captivating tales of magic and true love
Escape into these four wonderful tales of magic and romance. I stayed up late reading these four tales late into the night, making me very tired for my classes the next day. I would recommend this book to anyone, who like I, has never outgrown fairy tales and still dreams that a world of castles, princes, and those magical words "they lived happily ever after" exists.

Not a book to be read quickly
Even for a book of poetry, this one is very dense and requires a lot of mental activity. Lowell was a very cerebral, academic poet, and it's hard to find two lines in a row in this book that don't contain some allusion to classical mythology, religion, or European culture. Nevertheless, Lowell's work somehow manages to avoid conventionality. Just be prepared to do some thinking when reading this book.

The Road to Castle Mount : The Science Fiction of Robert Silverberg
Published in Hardcover by Greenwood Publishing Group (30 October, 1999)
Author: Edgar L. Chapman
Amazon base price: $64.95
Used price: $44.50
Average review score:

An excellent overview of Silverberg's science fiction.
Robert Silverberg may possibly be the greatest science fiction writer who ever lived. Silverberg has written more than 70 novels since 1954, and a good 25 of them are mind-blowing classics. If you're a fan of sf and haven't read Nightwings, Up the Line, Downward to the Earth, Tower of Glass, The Book of Skulls, and Dying Inside, not to mention Lord Valentine's Castle, Tom O'Bedlam, and At Winter's End, then you're in for a treat.

Chapman's excellent literary analysis of RS's career features some thoughtful and thought-provoking interpretations of these and many other fascinating Silverberg books. You may not agree with every interpretation, but you certainly will enjoy reading this well-written and entertaining study. If you're a die-hard Silverberg fan this book is a must have.

Our Dreaming Mind

Interesting read
VdC gives a pretty good gloss-over history of dreaming and what certain people thought of them; how certain philosophers and psychologists thought of them. He also recounts several studies and the statistics that were drawn from them - which are quite interesting.
One of the studies on lucid dreaming describes the participants methods for inducing lucid dreams, and the method happens to be almost identical to a method I've successfully used before, which I originally got from a book called "Control Your Dreams".

The best book on dreming so far, if not the best imaginable
Robert Van De Castle has a sense of vocation for his subject that conveys beautifully. He speaks very plainly and directly, without talking down to the reader. He's as objective as you can be with a subject that's so completely subjective (yet universal.)

The one negative review of Van De castle's book is from a Freudian. There is not "disenchantment" with Freud, he has been largely discredited. Dreams are not intentionally disguised infantile sexual wishes. The 'sub'conscious does not consist entirely of repressed desires. Freud's idea of the ego as basically the entire mind reminds me of the idea of the Earth being the center of the universe. They are just products of a different era.

While sometimes a little simplistic in its prose style and speculative in nature, Our Dreaming Mind is on a much higher plane than the new age junk that largely consumes shelf space devoted to the subject in book stores. Well worth the investment.

Very Informative
This is a very informative book, well written, and a pratical piece to add to the library if you're studying dreams.
