As the story goes, Herculeah finds out that Meat's Uncle Neiman is mixed up in some tricky business and somebody's out to get him. Of course Herculeah comes to the rescue once again and solves the mystery. This book will make you want to read it from cover to cover. The vivid description make it as real as can be. Hilarious stories for kids who love to laugh
My kids are in high school and they still remember the antics of the Golly sisters, siblings with funny adventures and fancy dreams! Along with Amelia Bedelia books, the Golly sisters encouraged my kids to begin reading at a very early age just to relive the antics on their own without Mommy's help. Highly recommend the Golly sisters with a whoop and a holler!

My Dog, My Hero ..... The best book ever!
There are many, many, many books that I love to read, but most of all I love to read the book, My Dog My Hero. It is my favorite book. Even though it is short, it is wonderful. One reason it is my favorite book is because it is an animal book. I love animal books, especially dog books. They just give me that feeling . That really good feeling. Next, I like this book so much because the dogs are so brave. One example is when a small dog is on ice, but the ice breaks .The puppy is stuck in the freezing cold water. Then, the big heroic dog leaped into the icy lake only to save the small puppy. I absolutely love this book. Finally, the third reason I like this book so much is because.......well......I don't know, I guess its because these dogs risk their lives for their owner or another dog. This is truly my favorite book.

THE SADDEST BOOK EVER!
My reading lab class just finished reading CRACKER JACKSON, and we all liked it. It was a very good book because I would read ahead when I was not supposed to, just to see what was going to happen. When I read this book I couldn't stop reading it. The book is about a guy named CRACKER JACKSON. He has a big problem, and he is the only one that can help. The problem is his old babysitter Alma is being abused by her husband named Billie Ray. Cracker is the only preson who can help Alma. You should never stay with a person like Billie Ray. The first time they hit you, you should leave because they will think it is okay to hit you. For example, Alma went back and got hurt even worse. That's not love at all.
A fascinating story
I just finished reading Cracker Jackson. It's about a boy named Jackson Hunter who is trying to help a woman named Alma who is getting beaten by her husband named Billy Ray. He tries to stop Billy Ray from hitting her by taking her to Avondale, a women's shelter, because one time he not only hit Alma, but he also hit her baby whose name is Nicole. She is about 6 months old. But when they are about 15 minutes away from Avondale, Alma decides to go back because she is afraid that if he finds out that she left him, he would hurt her, or even kill her. Goat, Jackson's best friend. But when they come back, Billy Ray finds out what happened, and beats her and the baby also, and gets them put in the hospital. A few weeks later Alma and the baby get out of the hospital.
My opinion of the book is that it is a good book, and I really enjoyed reading it. The lesson to be learned from this book is to learn from your mistakes and don't follow in Alma's footsteps.

A Review of 'The Animal, the Vegetable, and John D. Jones
This book contains some extremely well-developed characters. It also has an excellent storyline. It is about two sisters whose father is 'dating' a woman with a son-John D. Jones. The girls are very resentful of these newcomers. The sisters feel that John and his mother have invaded their privacy, especially when their father invites them to go on holiday with the family. The girls and John get on very badly. The two sisters are determined to make life for him and his mother as difficult as possible. I will not give away the ending completely but John does something which convinces the girls to give him a chance. I thought that this book was very gripping, as I was worried about what would happen-would the girls drive John and his mother away, or would they brave it? A good read.
excitement
This is a trip for Clara and delores spending their time at the beach with their father having a good time. Their father was at his final divores and he wanted his time alone with his two daughters.

This book was a winner with us!
We just finished reading The Pinballs in our fourth-grade classroom. Most of us thought it was a great book. We felt that we learned a lot about what it's like for someone to have to leave his or her family and go to a foster home for a while. We were interested in how Carlie changes. At the beginning she is sharp-tongued with everyone and she's angry all the time. Later on, she begins to trust and really care about the other foster kids and Mr. and Mrs. Mason, the foster parents. Carlie is not the only one who changes. We saw that Harvey reaches a deeper understanding of his father. Instead of just hating him for running over his legs with his car, he becomes more understanding after realizing that his mother never answered any of his letters (his mother ran away to join a commune). We liked what Carlie and Thomas J did at the end of the book to bring Harvey out of his depression in the hospital. We're not going to say what that is, though, because we want everyone who reads this review to read the book.
2 Thumbs Up and 2 Toes Up too!
The "Pinballs" is a wonderful book. It brings laughter, tears, and joy to the reader. Carlie, Thomas J., and Harvey - all are foster children sent to a foster home. Carlie was abused, Harvey's dad ran over his legs, and Thomas J. lived with older twins until they broke there hips. My student teacher read this book to me and the class in the fourth grade. We had activies to do with the book. This book is one of my favorites and will always be my favorite! If you like happy, sad, and fun moments, this book is for you! Please take my word for it! You will become keen to this book forever and ever and ever!

The Pinballs is a book about three children who are sent to a foster home. The three children are Carlie, Harvey, and Thomas J. Carlie is a fourteen-year-old girl who is at the foster home because her stepfathers abused her. Harvey is a thirteen-year-old boy who is at a foster home because his father had drinking problem and he couldn't take care of Harvey. Thomas J. is an eight year old boy who is at the foster home because when he was two his natal parents left him at the door step of the eighty-two year old Benson twins and they broke their hips walking down a path to their house and they couldn't care for him. So those three children were sent the Mason Foster Home. At first Carlie doesn't like anybody in the house, Harvey really doesn't communicate and Thomas J. talks too loud. What will happen to Carlie? What will happen to Harvey? What will happen to Thomas J.? Find out in The Pinballs by Betsy Byars.
I think the Pinballs was very good because most of the characters were dynamic. Betsy Byars painted a vivid picture of the characters. There is a very big lesson that taught in this book and you will have to read this book to find out. I would suggest this to any person above the age of ten.

The moon and I review
"The Moon and I" is an excellent book that tells the life of the famous author, Betsy Byars. It is a good autobiography. It has vivid descriptions. Betsy writes about her life and how she met a black snake, Moon. I like this book because it makes me feel like I'm with her in her life. What I dislike about this book is that the title was a little misleading. I thought it was about a moon! I recommend this book to anyone; it is for all ages.
Light-hearted autobiography of Betsy Byars
It all starts with a black snake and goes from there. Betsy tells you how she writes books and why she does it.
Cool Book!
In this excellently written book, Betsy Byars describes her friendship with moon (a snake she finds),tells bits of her childhood adventures, and gives helpful writing tips. A book that most anyone will enjoy. Betsy Byars has an amazing way with words! I had never read any of her books, but now am rushing to the library to check some out. I really enjoyed this book because it is well written and interesting. It is also inspiring as I want to be an author.
