We had lots of fun with this book until the stickers ran out. Then we used real band-aids. The book does a good job of teaching how to take care of a wound but in a fun way.

Our family will be taking this book on vacation to the ocean with us this year! Mr. Brown does a great job of showing kids that it is natural to be disappointed when plans don't work out the way we expected. We have found that this tale of our friend Arthur is a great tool for teaching our young boys to be flexible and find the positive aspects of a situation they did not anticipate. It also serves as a great reminder to parents to have a back-up plan!

This simple but sweet 'Arthur' work is probably aimed at a younger audience than the main targets of the T.V. show- 3rd graders, however, like all 'Arthur' works, it can appeal to all ages. The plot is something of a simple mystery that should work the brains of youngsters, and at least amuse the older readers. The illustrations are probably the best part of the book, each page is vividly illustrated in full color with plenty of ambient background details as well. My only complaint is that Marc gets some of the details wrong. For example, D.W. gets her face painted as a cat, and on the very next page, it is gone. Also, the number of pink stripes on outfit seems to keep changing. (Okay, okay, one gets bored.) Overall, excellent work though.

Great Book! My boys (ages 3 1/2 and 20 months) loves this book! It is a great tool to teach them the alphabet, letter recognition, etc. The only down fall is they use it so much the reuseable stickers are starting to tear and loose their adhesive.

Terrific gift item.

D.W fliips is a great book for young children. If your children are intrested in the Arthur series then this is a good book for them. In this book DW learns the importance of following saftey rules in her gymnastics class. She also has to face pressure from other gymnastics' members. Learning how to follow saftey rules is important for any child, participating in any sport. They learn lessons right along with DW, without being preached at, or having to face the problem themselves. The story is realistic, and in my own gymnastics career, problems similar to DW's often occur. If your child is not intrested in Arthur, gymnastics or sports of any kind, then I would recommend buying a different book that they would appreciate more.

It was really funny, but I think DW should have listened to her Mom and not done some bad stuff.

The fingerplays in Marc Browns collection are easy and well illustrated in this book. Traditional rhymes help children to feel confident in trying the fingerplays. The illustrations are also charming if you just feel like listening to the rhymes. They cause children to ask questions, think about the possible meaning of the rhymes and challenge their own imaginations.

Hand Rhymes has been a great asset to my toddler classroom. The children love doing the fine moter actions to the fun rhymes. The children love the pictures also. This is a great book for any age!

a good find. wish that the rest of the titles are also availble in audio cd version. my kids, who are audio-visual learners, love it. they are slowly developing an interest towards the reading of books.

This book not only gives words, but the motions too, of 8 different hand rhymes. It's in board book form so it doesn't have to be kept out of baby's reach. Bright pictures are entertaining, too. Most of the rhymes we knew, but some were new ones we had never heard. I'm looking forward to happy times using this book.
