What's that sound behind you?
Two more great stories from Bradbury here. First, "The Ravine"...a genuinely scary tale lifted from everybody's nightmares. In a town where a man is killing lonely women and leaving their bodies in the ravine, a woman decides to walk home alone - at night! - through that same area! The story is incredible, and the sound effects make you feel like you're walking with her as she jumps at every sound, and then desperately tries to outrun whatever she feels behind her. Top notch story! In "Here There Be Tigers", we have the story of a group of astronauts who land on the perfect planet - or is it? Two tales you won't want to miss!

Good introductions to Bradbury
Ray Bradbury has become a much revered master of the SF/fantasy/horror, and rightfully so. As a part of the "Great Author Series," three of his best short stories are presented in a sturdy hardcover edition

"The Other Foot" takes place twenty years after African-Americans left Earth for Mars, and have lived peacefully for many years in an enviroment free of racism and segregation. But old grudges and hatreds flare up when a Caucasian man arrives in a rocketship.

"April Witch" is about Cecy, a part of the bizarre Family also featured in "From the Dust Returned." The immortal, mind-travelling Cecy longs to fall in love, but the only way she can is to temporarily possess the body of a young girl and romance a mortal man...

"The Veldt" is a chilling look at what happens in a mechanized house where a holographic nursery begins to exert a mysterious power over its inhabitants.

Ray Bradbury's mastering of the subtle message, the sense of the surreal, and a growing sense of horror are well shown in this collection. His prose is spare and his dialogue is simple, but each story packs a punch. This edition is also very well bound, with a pleasant hard cover and thick, smooth paper. And as an extra bonus, there are study guides for each of the three stories, and a biography of the author at the end

For those new to Bradbury, this is a good introduction with some of his best material.

Great book
I think that this is one of Ray Bradbury's best. Its a tale of a man who has to fight the society he's been excepted to after he meets a girl. I thought that it was one of the best books I've read. It was so brilliantly written and if you like books with lots of details and about messed up societies, this is your book!

Science fiction at its best
I believe that S is for Space is THE best book I have ever read. There are several short stories that are entertaining and easy to understand. Bradbury once again captures the human essence in a series of stories. This is a great book for beginners or even advanced readers.

The title says it all
By now, most folks recognize that Bradbury is one of the great practitioners of the modern short story. Here is a selection of eerie tales not written but hand-picked by the sci-fi & fantasy master (tho' he did include one of his own stories too). The first tale alone, Robert M. Coates's "The Hour After Westerley," is worth the trouble it'll take to track this book down. Story fans, fantasy fans, horror fans, Bradbury fans -- this is a worthy collection from someone who knows.
