Enough to pass
A very good studying material. The only thing is the lack of enough questions.

Different light help a great deal
Well, I got some work exp. and read some books including MS' own training kit. Then I start reviewing these 250 or so pages per book and I sure learn a few things from it. exam notes tell what part is important and why it will be likely on the test by MS. And the CD exam simulation really open your eyes. Like in real life, there are errors in the books, there are test questions that can have different answers in real life. But the good thing about it is ... you get a good feel of what MS test is all about and with a different light shining on it you get a real understanding of NT ... the good prep to the passing of the test is just an icing on the cakes.

Brilliant idea, uninspired execution
Comics like "Two-Fisted Science" serve nothing but a good purpose. They remind us that comics - like other art forms - can be about anything, and are not captives of the humor, fantasy and adventure genres.

A science-themed comic is especially appropriate, as the art-text combination inherent to comics would seem perfect for conveying complex/cosmic ideas. This collection features some terrific artists - notably Bernie Mireault, David Lasky, Colleen Doran and Sean Bieri - but I was a bit disappointed in the writing. Ottaviani's stories so intent on being unorthodox and different that they instead become meandering and confusing. Oftentimes I was unsure of what exactly was at stake for each story and why we should care about what was being told. And I would expect to actually learn more about SCIENCE in such a book. Also, the organization of the book into seemingly random sections, and the clumsy, unimaginative publication design diminished the effect.

I give the book high marks for effort, nice artwork, and the especially interesting portraits of Richard Feynman, but overall I'd rate "Two-Fisted Science" a noble failure.

science/history in graphic medium
We have given this book to various friends who have enjoyed the hard science topics in the 'comic book' format. We also have given it to nieces and nephews, who may not realize that they are being exposed to science and history. We can chat with them about it later, to see how much they have absorbed and to encourage them to reread it (comics are fun after all).

Understanding the Neoclassical Comedies of Moliere
This Cliffs Notes volume by Denis M. Calandra and James L. Roberts examines three Neoclassical comedies by Moliere. The volume begins with a section on the Life and Background of the author and an excellent section that distinguishes "Neoclassical Comedy" of Moliere from the "Romantic Comedy" epitomized by Shakespeare. Following a concise explication of Moliere's Comic Technique, Calandra and Roberts look at "Tartuffe," "The Misanthrope" and "The Bourgeois Gentleman." Each play is examined with a List of Characters, a General Plot Summary, Summaries and Commentaries that look at each of the five acts in turn looking at one or two scenes at a time, and then Character Analyses of the main characters. As always, the best way of making use of this little yellow book with the black stripes is to read the commentaries after you have read the corresponding scenes in the play. The greatest strength of this particular Cliffs Notes is the set up of Neoclassical Comedy and Moliere's comic technique. For those teaching/reading these plays that background information will allow better understanding of any one of these plays.

Thank God for Cliff Notes
Although this book doesn't have any inspiring ideas or new theories about Milton's Paradise Lost, it does help to understand what the heck happens. The Cliff Notes explains the characters, their history, and biblical references that many people don't fully know. Its a tad boring but it's much better than the actual thing! If you want to pass your test or write a B- essay on Paradise Lost you'll need this book to do it.

Understanding Shakespeare's best romantic comedy
Even before the film "Shakespeare in Love" revitalized interest in "Twelfth Night," this play has been one of the most read of the Bard's comedies. As with the other Cliffs Notes dealing with Shakespeare, this volume begins with a brief life of Shakespeare that collects what little is actually known about the man, followed by a brief synopsis of the play and a list of characters. The Summary and Commentary section looks at each scene of the play, and is most useful if you read the commentary after you have read the corresponding scene. You simply cannot get by just reading the summary with any Shakespeare play because the dialogue is absolute crucial to any understanding or appreciation of the characters/play. The character analyses look at Viola, Olivia, Duke Orsino, the comic trio of Sir Toby Belch, Sir Andrew Aguecheek, and Maria, and Malvolio. Unlike most of the little yellow books with the black stripes, you will not find sections dealing with specific literary themes or motifs. The best analysis of any Shakespeare play makes much better use of the dialogue that this particular volume does, so I have to reiterate that you cannot teach/read any play without being able to deal with specific language and key lines.
