Experiencing God is an excellent study and will greatly impact your life. I have facilitated this course on many occasions, but with teenagers I have found that they do not easily grasp the concepts that are taught in the material. You will need to adapt the leader's guide to fit their unique needs; however, overall it is good. I taught about eight young people two years ago, and they really "stuck" with the commitment, moreso than any other group I have led. The key is that they commit to it and the leader make it as fun as possible. Moreover, I encouraged my kids to journal and I was pleasantly surprised at their entries. The sharing of their entries with the rest of the group helped solidify the concepts and also held them accountable to do the lessons each day. Teenagers can do it!

This book is a release of the four Gospels from the Holman Christian Standard Bible translation with snippets of commentary from Henry Blackaby. The translation reads remarkably like the NIV, with occasional departures on sentence structure and the like. The translators seem to be using the Nestle-Aland greek text as the source(same as NIV). What sets this translation apart are the small differences. Capitalization of pronouns regarding Christ; quoted text from the Old Testament is set in bold. Also, there seems to be a greater number of footnotes with more references to the original greek. I was pleased to see several footnotes regarding the literal word structure of passages. Although not part of the translation itself, the book contains several word studies on important usages of greek terms alongside the bits of commentary by Mr. Blackaby. The commentary is more inspirational than informational, but a welcome addition nonetheless.

All in all, if you like and use the NIV or NASB, then this book is a good way to take another look at the Gospels.

I was appalled to read on page 49 that "a girl with a Catholic background was saved in our church." I was always taught to respect others in their religious beliefs, and that you do not have to belong to a particular religion to be SAVED.I really cannot understand how a man of God can write in this manner.

This book provides some of the very best insights into Godly faith - what it really is and how God blesses those who truly live by faith.

This is an excellent study guide of Abrams (Abrahams) life in God shaping his spiritual life to be known as God's Friend. Very direct and easy to understand communication of God's principles of faith and obiedence.
