A Cat-Fest Of Laughs!
Anyone who likes funny things and cats will love this book. It is full of little stories and one liners and cartoons about cats and what they do, all amusing. Everything is done in black and white. My daughter, 10 years old, also found this book full of laughs. The only problem I had with this volume is that the binding along the spine became separated, but I recommend it anyway.

The 1st book I read after graduating from university!
If you're a cat owner, you would find this book reviewing all your feelings (happy or unhappy) about cats. Then, after you've read this book, you would ask yourself: Your cat owns you or You own your cat? 'cause you finally understand know why you can't control the cat - cats are more superior than men.

Actually, this is the first book I can finish after I graduated from university 4 years ago! Very interesting comics, thanks to Jackie Geyer. Humourous content, thanks to Stephen Baker. A must read for any cat lover (and also for those who want to 'own' a cat).

Awesome! conveys facts in a hilarious manner....
Mr Baker should be given an honerary Ph.D. in Veternary Science, specialization in cat psychology.

Excellent guide to implement precepts into daily life
Thich Nhat Hanh has updated the traditional Buddhist precepts in this book. His version goes beyond "do not kill," for example, to be mindful of that we might be killing inadvertently. He makes us aware of the broadness of the precepts and thus encourages us to be more mindful. If we are not mindful, we break the precepts. Therefore, he calls them Mindfulness Trainings. Thay's approach frames the precepts in a way that is helpful in our daily life. He makes them relevant.

Time Out of Mindfulness
In a world of deceit, excess, killing, lying and stealing, the present moment works with faith FOR A FUTURE TO BE POSSIBLE by enlightenment from the Buddha, the practice of love and understanding, and ever bigger and greater numbers of communities seeking wisdom, harmony and awareness. Art and meditation send energy into cell nutrition and nervous system health. Mindfulness teaches respect for all life, generosity, responsibility, careful speech and healthy diet for concentration and insight. Nobel Prize winner Thich Nhat Hanh's book is a beautifully reader-friendly steppingstone to THE GOOD HEART by the Fourteenth Dalai Lama, AWAKENING THE BUDDHIST HEART by Lama Surya Das, and LOVINGKINDNESS by Sharon Salzberg.

Adorable!
I actually read this book years ago, but it still comes to mind. I have two young furballs from the humane society and I'd never quite seen that "look" from a cat (you'll know what I mean when you see the illustrations) until we got our youngest, a little 9 month old tiger who has that grin perpetually plastered to his cute little furry face. "How to Live With a Neurotic Cat Owner" is hilarious. The author has cat owners pegged down by category (ever wanted to know what your cat thinks about you?) I'm the hugging type (the illustration is actually fairly accurate! =) And the wriggling frustration of our "kids" when being carried proves that this book has it right when it comes to the "Proper Way to Carry A Cat" not to mention the perfectly designed cat living space and so on. I'm on amazon.com to get a new copy, because my old one is still at my mother's house--she wouldn't let it go! =)

A must-have for any Java programmer
This is an excellent book. There are many topics covered in a straightforward manner that you won't find anywhere else. Many clever solutions - I learned a lot from using this book and I've been programming in Java for a while. One of the few computer books worth the steep price.

Great value for intermediate/advanced
You will not be sorry if you buy this book. The book uses a straightforward approach to some of the complicated as well as simple issues. The book is very well organized, and explanations are very clear. I would not recommend it for the beginners, but even if you are just getting comfortable with Java, this book would be an excellent value. CD that comes with this book is also very helpful.

Excellent book
I really liked this book. It deals with very important topics from basic to quite advanced in a very straightforward manner. I use it all the time.

Hits Close To Home¿
I loved this book. Everything in it reminds me of the fun and antics that I experience with my two Pugs. I would highly recommend this to any dog owner or soon to be dog owner. It is a lot of fun and has many "out loud" laughs.

Excellent and very funny!
I got this book as a gift and really enjoyed it! It made me laugh from beggining to end. Very funny and great as a gift for dog lovers.

If you are a REAL Dog Owner, you need this book!
My daughter gave me this book for Christmas. It made my day! I could swear that my 4 year old Chinese Sharpei, Smokey, had written it! I looked over and he was watching me while I read and laughed my way through it. My neighbor has the world's "dumbest and biggest" bulldog, Duke and I am getting him a copy. My son is a Vet, and he is getting a copy! Read it and see your self in this Dog-Mirror!

Read it And Did IT!
Very detailed book. Lasik is not as simple as it looks. Your doctors experience will make the differnce in the possible need for a "touch up" or hitting the mark the first time. This book provides so much information that anyone considering lasik should have it. You will be spending at least a couple of thousand dollars for lasik (or less if you go to a "puppy mill").

I was approx 20/800 with high astigmatism and am now 20/20!! Recommend my doctor in Denver (I did a lot of research)if you can make it. Dr. Spivack at the Spivack Vision Center Englewood Colorado "spivack.com"

A Focus on the Facts
For anyone considering laser vision correction this forthright book gives a realistic idea of what to expect before, during, and after surgery from the patient's and the surgeon's perspective. Dr. Slade makes the prospect of undergoing laser eye surgery less mysterious, less threatening. He answers myriads of questions but also guides you to the vital questions to ask both yourself and your potential surgeon. His focus is on patient education, which is crucial to making an informed decision and to managing the natural fear of eye surgery. Medical illustrations and a glossary help clarify medical concepts. Besides the emphasis on surgery the text provides basic information about the eyes such as how they function, why some eyes do not work so well, and how to understand your prescription for eyeglasses. For those contemplating a lifetime investment in better vision this book should prove an invaluable asset.

After reading the author's history of refractive surgery it becomes evident that eye surgery now a reality would have been considered science fiction less than a generation ago. Appropriately the book ends on this positive note, "With time and endless effect, one generation's prayer becomes the next generation's answer." If you choose to have laser eye surgery, just warn your chauffeur that postoperatively you may become preoccupied with reading every sign, license plate, and billboard in sight. Those of us who have experienced a blurred world can truly appreciate the out-of-this-world difference a laser and a highly skilled ophthalmologist can make--a world in focus at last.

Fantastic
The Complete Book of Laser Eye Surgery(2000) by Dr. Slade explained every facet of the Lasik eye procedure. I was extremely impressed by the book. The book also includes an interesting story about one of the authors, Dorothy Kay Brockman. She was very near-sighted and had good results with the Lasik. The book explains: how the eye works, the entire Lasik correction procedure, it explained the surgery, and what you could expect after the surgery. This book is must reading!

Beautiful drawings, breath-taking narrative
My husband and I love this book -- fortunately our son (age 4 yrs) is finally able to listen to the whole story. He has shown great interest in the story and how it relates to his obsession with the transcon railway. (We call our son Train Brain).

He has been moved to draw after we have shared the book and we think that is wonderful, since it doesn't involve trains.

Seriously, it is a wonderful story and very well illustrated. We will probably donate this book to our son's classroom library later this year. We are grateful to have recieved it as gift from the artist in our family.

Story of an Indian boy and how he saves his tribe.
This book for children is about a young plains Indian boy who hears a folk tale about how buffaloes are formed at the bottom of a lake far to the south of the boy's village. He goes in search of the lake and, in so doing, saves his village from an attack by an enemy tribe. The book was illustrated by Stephen Gammell and it was a 1982 Caldecott Honor book (i.e., a runner-up to the Medal winner) for best illustration in a book for children. Any child will love to have the story read to them.

X-rated Intellectual, Indeed!
Ah, the delectable Susie Bright. This book, though several years old, is fabulous. In it, Ms. Bright cunningly explores several themes and individuals with wit and intelligence. Her description of a discussion she had with adult film (and I do mean film) director Andrew Blake on her dislike of his lack of realism in his films' lesbian scenes is right on. Another great tale is her fantasy involving Dan Quayle. Yes, that's right, J. Danforth himself is lucky enough to have been the subject of one of Ms. Bright's sexual fantasies, or, at least, she will have us think so.

As is true of all of her books, Sexwise by Susie Bright is not to be missed.
