Excellent for research, not something to curl up with...
This book is an excellent resource if you're looking to do any type of research, it would also be perfect to use as a ready reference tool for identiying certain species, but it is written in a dictionary type of style so it is not an incredible easy read.

You can enjoy the primates world with this book!
Before I got this book, I didn't know about pramates at all. Because I didn't have much interest to primates. And now I'm interested in primates, and want to know more. On this book, there're many photos and stories about primates. You can enjoy primates world with this book.

Sound, quick, clear
This small book packs a lot of insight into a very few pages. It points out the virtues of bureaucracy -- and then shows one how to make organizations function better by adding "adhocracy" to the mix. It also provides some helpful tips about why big initiatives so often go wrong in organizations. If your organization is contemplating any kind of big change, this is a book to curl up with for a few hours. After that, you may well want to get back online and order copies for the other persons whose participation is needed in the change process.

This book is an excellent source. Lovett traces the development of the current trends in banking and financial law, beginning with the First Bank of the U.S. The book also explains how banking law evolved with respect to the existing economic and political climate. Buy this book! There is no better synopsis of banking/financial law.

A Critical Edition of I Sir John Oldcastle (The Renaissance Imagination, V. 9)
Published in Hardcover by Garland Pub (November, 1984)
Authors: Jonathan Rittenhouse, Anthony Munday, and William Shakespeare
Amazon base price: $15.00
Used price: $32.95
Average review score:

Oldcastle in myth compared to Oldcastle in history.
As a student of Shakespeare I bought this book to help me understand the connection between Oldcastle and Falstaff. Rittenhouse quotes Holinshed's CHRONICLES and Foxe's ACTS AND MONUMENTS for the historical Lollard who died a martyr's death under Henry V. He gives us the entire play (1 SIR JOHN OLDCASTLE)written in 1599 by four authors who borrowed heavily from Shakespeare. 2 SIR JOHN OLDCASTLE, wherein the bishops insist on his death, was suppressed as too hot a topic in the aftermath of the execution of Essex.

Oldcastle in the play is shown as loyal to Henry V and esteemed by many people of both high and low degree. A follower of Wycliff, he stood for removing the abuses of the Church. Those who benefited from the abuses, the bishops, wanted Henry V to see Oldcastle as disloyal to the crown.

For my purposes in comparing Oldcastle to Falstaff, the book was useful but I need to read about Wycliff and John Florio to complete the picture.

It was originally a doctoral dissertation.

Flowers of Greece and the Aegean

Worth the weight
I am a professional botanist so my standards are high. I checked Huxley and Taylor's book out of the University library and carried it in my backpack for a month. The only thing is you really need a backpack with an easily accessible pocket if you aren't going to just keep this book in your hands.

The Last Hero: Wild Bill Donovan
Published in Hardcover by Times Books (December, 1982)
Author: Anthony Brown
Amazon base price: $24.95
Used price: $5.25
Collectible price: $15.88
Average review score:

Comprehensive biography of father of OSS, later CIA
"Wild Bill" Donovan hails from Buffalo, N.Y.. In this extensive work of author Brown, we're provided his full story (as much as can be told, anyway) from WWII, Switzerland, the initial days at Rockefeller Center (and later, Langley), legal inception and structural formulation and dialogue with the president and military services to form the OSS, presently known as the CIA.

Exceptionally well-written (and just as exemplary, by the way, as author Brown does with Britain's analogue "C") and informative. Superb on WWII OSS operations in Europe. Author Brown explains much of what didn't already know, and fills-in wonderfully where we do.

Not short on pages, it captivates for just about every one of them.

What was the understanding then? That Hoover feared no one? You may disclose otherwise.

Good man, that Donovan. Good too, Brown, for work well done.

Middle East on a Shoestring
When one takes the initial steps of such an exotic trip as the middle east, a guide is needed to educate yourself on everything. Even the experienced traveler will find their trips to Europe did little to prepare them for the Middle East. This is why this guide does so much for the independant, and is so invaluable. Lonely planet has a history of helping people travel on a meagre budget, however gives a warm and caring introduction as to why indulging yourself occasionaly in the more expensive treasures can make your vaction. The authors expell the myths of all around violence in the region and firmly warns you where not to go. The religion and customs sections are so informative that I found myself prepared for the basics of Islamic life and ready to learn more. This book inspired me to take the unbeaten path and to still take in the wonderful tourist draws. Ive browsed through the two other major guides on the middle east, they dont compare to the thorough down to earth writing that Lonely Planet produces. Occasionaly, there could be more entries on Long Distance Travel (getting there and away) and there could have been more mention of the smaller budget tours that are offered in the region, however I still contend that this is the best pick for Middle East travel guides for all traveler of all Budgets.
