a great forgotten book
I stumbled on this book in my elementary school library when I was in 4th grade. The book was already out of print at the time, but I loved it.
It was one of the first books that actually caught my attention long enough for me to read it all the way through. Before this book I had regulated myself to the ranks of Sweet Valley Twins books, and the slightly higher quality Baby Sitters Club series. I might go so far as to credit this book as turning me into an avid reader that has resulted in my being an English major today.
This was just such a touching and magical story. I wish they would re-release it so that someday I can share it with my children.

AMAZING MEMORIES
My gosh! I also read this book as a child and it has stayed with me all these years. I am 36, and I've been looking for this book for years. I thought I had the name wrong, I have also thought maybe I dreamt it! I can't believe this book has astounded so many people, yet remains so elusive! Let's all write the Publisher and get this book back in the public again! Our children should be able to get the pleasure we've received from this book. They too would check it out again and again from the library! It feels good to finally find the author and verify the name of this book at least!

My All Time Favorite Book!
My school librarian recommended this book to me when I was in fifth grade, and like others have said, I checked it out over and over again. I just fell in love with it. It was so magical and mysterious and moving. I felt like I was transported every time I read it.
I'd been trying for years to find it so that I could finally have my own copy. I always checked any book store or website I found to see if they had it, but they never did. Then, this Christmas my aunt gave me the best present I've ever received--my very own copy of To Nowhere and Back! She was able to locate it through Amazon.[com.] I was so happy, I literally cried!
I just finished reading it again, and it was just as wonderful as I remembered. It was just as magical, and even better, this time it reminded me of how it felt to be ten years old. The twenty year search was definitely worth it!

Entertaining, inspiring, highly recommended reading.
Berber is an orphaned lamb who thinks he is 'human" because his adoptive-mother is human and has white hair just like his wool coat. Berber: A Lamb's Tale is an utterly charming and original story told from Berber's point-of-view and details his many escapades with the other farm creatures. Margaret Johnson, drawing upon her many years of raising all manner of animals, has written an entertaining, inspiring, highly recommended story for young readers that is enhanced throughout with full-color illustrations.

Absolutely Precious
Berber is absolutely precious. This is a childs book that adults can enjoy. You will read it over and over to your children.

It's a hit!
I absolutely loved this book. It is a great story for children, but one that the adults will love to read to them. (and after they go to bed read it to themselves). Margaret clearly loves and understands animals, and has a lot to share about them. Especially enjoyable is how she tells the story from the lamb's view, and you know, I think she did know exactly what the lamb was thinking. It's a great story with a great message and I hope that many more people have a chance to read it. ADD IT TO YOUR SHOPPING CART!

Everything you always wanted to know about pathophys........
I have the first edition of Dr. Lorraine Wilson's pathophys. text and have just bought the fifth edition. It is an excellent resource for any nurse who wants to maintain a current knowledge base in pathophysiology. It is a great resource. It is obvious that the main editor, Dr. Wilson, takes great pride in the accuracy of the submissions and strives to produce a high quality text book. I understand that Dr. Wilson is completing the 6th edition but no word as to when it will be released.

Excellent resource for the new ICU nurse!!!
I have been a fan of Sylvia Price's Pathophysiology text since I first studied for the CCRN exam in 1982. I have bought periodic updated versions since that time and recommend it to all my preceptees and CCRN study group members. The clarity of her authors' explanations makes understanding the pathophysiology of conditions commonly seen in ICU very easy. I do not have enough words to express how highly I recommend this book to any nurse beginning a critical care career.

Fabulous Book
My students and I learned more from this book than we did from our regular text book. It is very visual and helps teach the concepts with clarity!

a great way to learn about electro-magnetism
I enjoyed making the circuits using both the book and the CD-ROM. They both worked really well together. I learned what types of solids stick to magnets and once I went through the entire book and CD I took the quiz and found it fun and easy. I especially liked the slime pit activity.

Witty and passionate autobiography-as-fiction
Anyone who has read Anderson's wonderful autobiography ('My Thirty Years' War,' 'The Fiery Fountains,' 'The Strange Necessity,' all sadly now out of print) must read this novel -- it has the same ebullient, erudite tone and the same passion for life. Many of the characters' names are thinly-veiled pseudonyms for the real people in Anderson's life, and Mathilda Hills fills in the blanks in her long introduction which explains how she came to find this manuscript. This is a priceless piece of Modernist history and a great lesbian love story, but I think it will be appreciated best by those already familiar with Anderson, founder of 'The Little Review,' and her personal history.

Lost and found
Much thanks to Mathilda Hills for bringing this story to us! This beautiful and lyric love story is only heightened by the biographical information Hills provides. I hope the publisher will eventually provide a paperback edition, so more people would be enticed to read this stunning tale.

read this book
This book is broadly synthetic, deeply though implicitly historiographical, and deliciously sublime. I've read it now twice and though it may occasionally flag under the impressive crush of its voluminously well-documented research, the clarity of its ambition provides much worth reading and thinking about.

A wonderful book for academics and non-academics alike
This is one of the most important books written on political culture in Imperial Germany. Anderson skillfully demonstrates that this era contained a vibrant culture of political contestation and democratic spirit. Despite the authoritarian aspects of the Imperial German government and constitution, Germans did not blindly follow the lead of entrenched elites.

In addition to its many contributions to academic debates in modern German history, _Practicing Democracy_ is a lively, well-written book, with wonderful anecdotes and engaging prose. It would be stimulating even for those with only an amateur interest in history.

The recent U.S. election debacle also adds saliency to what Anderson has to say. Much of her material is drawn from the records of election challenges, and offers insights into the difficult process of conducting free and fair elections, while also pointing out that ideas of election fairness are culturally conditioned.

As a historian of Germany and a lover of books and politics, I give this book my highest recommendation.

Young people will be delighted in addition to being informed. And even adults will be charmed by the personal history of Gwinn Vivian, who grew up in glorious, mysterious Chaco Canyon and became the "living history" reporter on this amazing place. Fabri's Insects is "fabrulous!"
This story is told from the point of view of Paul, Henri Fabri's son. Paul relates his boyhood experiences being involved with his father's lifework, the study of insects. This is a true "living" science book that will grab your children's interest. Each chapter focuses on one insect that Fabri and his children studied. The pencil drawings focus on the close family relations of this homeschooling family in the 1800's. The drawings also clearly illustrate the insects. This book may inspire the study of an insect and recording the findings in a nature notebook. I look forward to reading more books in this series.

Excellent for young people
An exciting tale of the first meeting of Europeans with the aboriginal people of Canada. Set on Vancouver Island, the story is a primer for the issues we face today. But Margaret Anderson is above all, a storyteller in this action-packed adventure.
