Terriffic suspenseful tale woven with religious themes.
Don't let the tag line fool you. This is not your standard good triumph over evil story of religious endeavors. This is a down and dirty fight for the ownership of the potential Armageddon.
Throughout the book I was amazed to find that I couldn't pinpoint who was good and who was evil until nearly the very end. The subtle clues usually left me wondering if the clues were truly reality or just a bad nightmare. David Lynn Anderson has worked within a not-to-distant future and successfully brought the entire world to economic ruin in a very convincing manner.
I highly recommend this book for anyone that likes not only science fiction/fantasy, but to anyone who likes suspense and stories that mess with your mind. This novel left me wondering, "Where is God?!"
Business Law & the Legal Environment (16th Ed)
Published in Hardcover by South-Western College/West (December, 1997)
Amazon base price: $108.95

An astoundingly comprehensive overview of the legal process.
How better could an author examine the legal process than be a part of it? Obviously Ronald Anderson posed this question to himself and answered with complete discretion and insight. If only a bonus star could be awarded along with the first five, I would give them in all earnst.

A Compelling Law Textbook!
Legal textbooks by nature are encyclopedic and ponderous, however, this text is one of the most interesting and compelling books I have ever read on the subject of law. The material is presented clearly and rationally and each topic is supplemented heavily by significant "real-world" examples. The examples are timely and upbeat and very interesting to read. You will find it difficult to avoid reading all the real-world examples at one sitting. If you are forced to purchase this text for a Business Law class.....count yourself lucky. This one is the best. If you are merely curious about the inner-workings of torts, contract law and intellectual propery rights, then this is the book to buy.
Crime and the Politics of Hysteria: How the Willie Horton Story Changed American Justice
Published in Hardcover by Times Books (July, 1995)
Amazon base price: $25.00
Average review score:
Outstanding overview of Willie Horton case
Anderson does an excellent job of researching and interviewing to tell the true story of Willie Horton, both less and more frightening than the 1988 Bush campaign presented it

David and The Trash Talking Giant
I love these books. I first received Jonah's Trash God's Treasure as a gift and I was so excited to see that Joel had another book out. Not only do these books tell a wonderful story, my child loves to look for all the diffrent items used to make each scene. He goes back and looks and them over and over. What clever books
Downtown: A History of Downtown Minneapolis and Saint Paul in the Words of the People Who Lived It
Published in Paperback by Nodin Press (November, 1999)
Amazon base price: $14.98
Average review score:
Excellent
I really enjoyed this book. Being a resident of the Twin Cities for virtually my entire life (over 40 years) I could relate to most of the places mentioned in the book. The book itself is actually a fine collection of stories from people that actually lived in Minneapolis and St. Paul from the late 1800's thru the mid 1900's. These stories are interspersed with comments and background from the author/editor, who does a marvelous job of tying them all together. More than just a dry, factual history of the area, it brings alive what daily life was like for residents back then, and how it changed over the decades with the introduction of the car, movies, and even bathtubs. From the heydays of the 1890's to the Urban Renewal days of the 1950's, it made me aware of how much we've lost from those days, how far we've come over the years, and the wrong turns and detours we've made along the way.
Dragons: Truth, Myth, and Legend
Published in Library Binding by Artist & Writers Guild Books (July, 1998)
Amazon base price: $14.95
Average review score:
Excellent!
The drawings are what really made this book so good. The stories by themselves are not so interesting, but the illustrations of the dragons really sold this book for me. I believe they are done in fine colored pencil, and they are the first dragon pictures I have ever seen in my life that agree with my opinion of a dragon looks like. The only reason why I did not give this book a full ten is because I didn't take a perticular interest in the stories. An artist and/or a dragon fanatic (like me) would appreciate this book a lot.

Good Books are Timeless
This is the first book of the Poul Anderson series, "Flandry, Agent of Imperial Terra" and it was published in the mid-sixties. I say this up front because the book, story and characters live outside the copyright date and achieve that timeless quality you expect from authurs like Asimov, Burroughs and of course Poul Anderson. Flandry is just an ensign when we meet him in this story and at first, he doesn't even feel like the staring character. As the story unfolds, we expect more and more from our young ensign until the fate of Terra and other worlds hang on his every decision. Don't get me wrong, he's not made Emporer by books end. Through and through, he is just an ensign who plays the cards that are dealt him. It is said that great events make great men and we see Ensign Flandry take on a captivating shape. I haven't read the next books in the series, but have high hopes for the Long Night of the Terran Empire.
