The framers of the Constitution in their own words
An essential book for every American both young or old, male or female, Democrat or Republican. A delightful discovery on the need of God and guns (or perhaps swords) in the United States and the intolerance of a government in charge of all but answerable to noone. An undeniably perfect fit for todays culture.

Discover your roots from the men that gave their lives for the signing of the Constitution; true heroes. Their resolve was unquestionable and the love for country without reproach.

They brought us so far. We've walked away. Read it and weep. BK

Excellent book on combating terrorism
I thought that this book, an edited volume of experts from various countries on strategies to combat terrorism was done very well. The perspectives of (in-country) European, U.S., Latin American, Middle Eastern, and Asian analysts shows that terrorism is a global problem and there must be global solutions. The contributors also discuss the consequences of 9/11 so that adds to the helpfulness of the book.

A Concordance for Dummies
A Bible verse flits through your mind, but you can't remember it exactly, and you're not sure where to find it. You look in the Concordance in the back of your Bible. No help. Even the gigantic Strong's Concordance (which gives you a hernia to lift!) doesn't help because it's keyed only to the King James translation. Cruden's to the rescue! Look up a key word and you find the reference in 'most any translation. Example: you remember somewhere in Scripture the phrase, "God inhabits the praise of His people. So you look under "praise" and you find Psalm 22:3: "OH Thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel." OK, so you didn't recall it quite right. Now you know. Another example: you're curious what the Bible has to say about JOY. Wow! More than 2 columns of references on joy and joyful! A Bible study in itself. As a writer, I adore this book, but anyone who loves God's word and studying it will, too.

How to Manage Talent

The Gutz of Deal-Making In Tinseltown
I'm saddened to discover this classic is out of print. Walter Hurst really knew how to weave through the technicalities and legalities of Hollywood Show Biz during the 1970's and 80's. Newcomers to the biz have lost a valuable resource. I certainly benefitted from the sample contracts and forms provided in this and about fifteen other books he published.

Brings back a lot memories to a tin can sailor in the KW
Very good description of life on a tin can during Korea. I was a radarman petty officer on the USS Eversole (DD789). Some flaws: I saw no "posh hotels" in Yokosuka; in fact, nothing posh in Japan at that time. Misspelled the Keyes from Desdiv 31. Accurate description of a tin can in a typhoon except I believe the descriptions of rolls in the high 50-degrees and up to 70 degrees exceed the design limits of a top-heavy Sumner. The worst I ever experienced was 47-degrees and we almost didn't come out of it. The "incident" that MacArthur was apparently trying to create off Swatow begs for verification. Have never read of the incident in any history of the war, including a book on the covert/intelligence side. Without giving a source for the information, the author is asking a lot of the reader. But I highly recommend the book for any tin can sailor in the Korean War.

Back home in Indiana
This is a fabulous book that truly depicts the down home feel of Indiana. As a life-long resident, I am able to reflect on the many places I have visited throughout the years. The photography was beautiful and made me proud of my midwest heritage. I first purchased this book for my daughter to take to her host family in Germany and have now purchased it for myself and for gifts.

The only music book that gave me what I wanted!
I have learned a few instruments over the years and looked at many books to try to learn piano. This is the only book I saw that gave me what I wnted, the ability to learn piano. It didn't give lots of nice little songs and other frily stuff. It got my chops up... got me running! You can play when you work with this book.

Succinct and Relevant
Alexander and Lyons have outlined a strategy for service organizations to shift (their) historical models of selling that will place any organzation ahead of customer demand and expectations. An awesome transformation will take place for the company that applies "the Knowledge-based" blueprints to actually create demand and stop the wasteful "reactionary sales methods" that are most common today. Great Resource!

This is not a review, simply a correction of your listing of this book--it is not by Alexander Hamilton, it is by Hamilton and James Madison, being an exchange of arguments between them.

The Life and Work of Dr. Alister MacKenzie
A collaboration of love - not only for Dr. MacKenzie but the essential history of the game of golf. Insightful, textured prose combined with correspondence, primary architectural renderings by Dr. MacKenzie and photographs, this work is the finest published on his life, and his life's work. This book comes with my highest recommendation and should be an integral
addition to every golf library.
