Funny
Biff is a senior in high school who has never had a girlfriend. He has worshipped a girl named Tommie from afar for over a year, but just can't seem to get up the courage to call her. He is still enamored with Tommie when he meets a niece of a family friend and unexpectedly falls for her. I thought this book was funny and true to life -- I recommend it.

number one out of one hundred
Studying for my Masters degree in library science, had to review 100 ya books----this was my number one pick by a long shot! Brilliant character development.

Awesome!!

This book is a parenting "bible"!
This book is informative. It is concise, and easy to read. It gives many helpful examples. It also gives great deal of alternatives for difficult situations you find yourself in with your children. It has many ideas which are similar to "Children the Challenge." Another very helpful book. I started using the ideas of this book and saw immediate results in my children and myself.

Great Parenting Tools
This book is an easy to read book that can add some very helpful tools to your parenting "tool belt". I facilitate effective parenting classes and use this book as the text book.

This book is why we have a great kid!
We give this to every prospective new parent without fail because it is THE BEST. No other way to put it. Our 8 yr old is an incredible kid because she can talk to us, we can talk to her, we all understand how to comunicate and understand each other, and what to do when we don't. It has helped us through deaths, moves, toilet training, fears, "bad" friends, school, misbehaviors, social situations, etc. There is a special place in the afterlife for these authors. They have made our family a success. The dialogue will sound contrived and phony to readers at first, but please trust us when we say-IT WORKS! Now it seems as normal as can be, and is the only way I will ever interact with a child (or certain adults!)from now on!

Lovely Book - No Gold!
I bought this one for my daughter who was studying Robert Frost in first grade. The illustrations are lovely, and she treasures the book. The only disappointment was that it doesn't contain the poem "Nothing Gold Can Stay" (one of our favorites). From the cover picture, I'd expected it to contain that one.
Still, I'm glad I bought it for her.

Awsome
I have read this book by Robert Frost end to end. When I first saw this book I had to read it. I read Robert Frost last year in school. This book can be read to any age at any time. I thik some of Robert Frosts pomes can tech kids about life. That is what I think of this Robert Frost book.

Robert Frost (Poetry for Young People).
I love Robert Frost's poetry and was looking for a good way to introduce his wonderful words to young children. I have found that way through this beautiful book. I am an assistant principal and can't wait to share this book with my teachers and students. As I read this book, I felt like I was in New England during all four seasons. A must buy for poetry lovers and Robert Frost fans.

Lone Wolf's quest for revenge!
Joe Dever's 'Caverns of Kalte' is the third gamebook in the fantastic, legendary Lone Wolf series. Following the demise of Zagarna, Lone Wolf is set upon a mission to bring Vonotar the Traitor - renegade Magician - to justice. However, Vonotar has found refuge within the icy wastes of Kalte, a hard, merciless wilderness. Where even the ferocities of nature are against him, Lone Wolf must brave the inhabitants of Kalte then steal himself into the magician's fortress. A great sequel to end the legacy of Zagarna, despite it being a part of the Lone Wolf Novice series (books 1-5). In particular, I found the Ice Barbarians a superb feature to this gamebook.

Another great hit from Dever!
The Caverns of Kalte is yet another of the many great Lone Wolf books from Gary Chalk and Joe Dever. This "episode" is set in an icy waistland called Kalte. You are sent to track down another of the Darklords minions and bringing him to justice. I have been collecting these books for seven years and I have never gotten tired of reading a single one of them! I suggest you read one too, you will become addicted like me.

Brr! An iceland is a great place to have an adventure!
You guide Lone Wolf into the icy desert of Kalte to capture Vonotar the Traitor-the very man who betrayed Sommerlund to the Darklords, and gave the evil creatures the information to bring the destruction of the Kai-your brethren! It is a matter of revenge as you penetrate the the stronghold of Kalte and its inhabitants-the Ice Barbarians! However, Vonotar has become the Brumulmarc of the Ice Barbarians, which translates to him being the king, so it is a quest to avoid as many barbarians as possible, and bring the foul traitor to final justice-banishment from Magnamund to an alter world! Hey, sounds like a great opening for another adventure...

One Dream Of Freedom
Jesse is a 17 teen year old man who just moved out with his older brother Abel. He is attending Fresno State University. Abel and Jesse are afraid of the Vietnam War. They don't want to be drafted and then the pressures of school. They work on a farm where they pluck and pull whatever is in season. Abel does end up getting drafted and Jesse wants to go enlist so he can protect his older brother. Jesse's friend Jesus tells him not to go. Jesse listens to Jesus and goes back to his field labor job. I think this can relate to young man going through a dysfunctional family. As a side affect of that he has problems with girls. He has confusion about goals in his life.

Jesse
This book is about two Mexican brothers,Jesse and Abel who are tired of struggling to be abel to live the next day. They both work long hours in cotton and grape fields to be abel to put themselves through college, but no matter hard they try things always get in their way.

Recommendations:
I think that i would recommend this book to everyone adults and my peers.
I would like my peers to read this book because it would help them to see that no matter who or what comes in their wat , never give up but keep on going because if it is for the good it will only make you a better person.

This story touched my life
This is a beautifully written and poignant story about 17 year old Jesse, a Mexican-American boy coming of age during the turmoil of the Vietnam War. I was inspired by Jesse's optimism and charmed by his innocence and simplicity. Despite his poverty and family difficulties, Jesse aspires to get an education and become an artist. By the end of this book, I felt that I knew Jesse and that he had become a friend.

An average book, with good qualities.
The second book of the Magnakai and the seventh in the incredible international bestselling roleplaying series, Castle Death takes you to the forbidden Isle of Khor, upon which Kazan-Oud, Castle Death, stands. For many centuries this terrible fortress has been the abode of a powerful sorcerer called Zahda, and the Magicians of Dessi, a realm of exotic creatures and sprawling jungles, can only hope to contain Zahda's growing power. This would hold no real importance to your quest for the seven Lorestones except for one fact: the Lorestone of Herdos was captured by the forces of evil upon the defeat of its creator and carried to Kazan-Oud, where Zahda coupled it with its foul twin, the Doomstone of Naaros. From this accursed gem Zahda draws all of his power, and as long as the Doomstone exists you will be unable to take the Lorestone without great physical harm.

It brought relief and a smile to my daughter's face!
After a particularly tough few weeks getting back to school, I bought this book for my 14 Y-O daughter, who has some Learning Differences after surgery, & radiation for removal of a brain tumor. Today, she was bouncing again and all smiles, as she read aloud to me some of the paragraphs from the book.

She felt normal again ! Priceless !

If you have a teen with LD, you know what I mean. Just buy it and wait for them to start leafing through it. It has simple and straightforward paragraphs that are not threatening to a teen with LD, and it helps them focus on what matters to them. Parents be warned it is not all about school work, so be prepared, but also about getting a job, dating, driving, etc.

Great Self-Help Book for Teens with Learning Disabilities
Discusses using your high school and teenage years to become the best possible adult. Includes sections on making and keeping friends, using the IEP process to get a good education, relationships with the opposite sex, and whether or not you should get a part time job.

This book is well-laid out and is written in an engaging style.

Unique
As a child of 8 or so, I read this book to myself. At first read, I thought it a rather strange book. It was only after three more reads later in my life that I finally understood the plot. This book is well worth the money simply because of the beautiful images that made me cry as an 8 year old, but save your dollars until your child is old enough to sort through the images to find the plot.

Wonderful Story
I loved RAINBOW GARDEN as a little girl. As an adult, I still re-read it every couple of years. In my opinion, this beautiful story should be considered a Christian classic. Both well-written and touching, RAINBOW GARDEN is a story about how a lonely little girl finds fulness of joy. Patricia M. St. John paints wonderful pictures of happy childhood and those little incidents that have such great meaning and excitement.

Wish they still wrote books like this for children!
This is the story of a little girl who feels lost in the world, as her mother is too busy with her own life to care for her. Her father is dead and now her mother is taking a new job in a different country, requiring lots of travelling, without Elaine. Elaine must go live with a family of six children. Through the time she spends with them, she finds Jesus and learns to love others more than herself. An excellent protrayal of real life situations, not glossed over, but told with propiety. I read this story to my four children ages 3 to 9 and they loved it.

Great Book for young adults; its not about vampires
I enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the relationship between the grandfather and Johnny. This book is not about vampires but about the alienation that is experienced because of ones race. Johnny is Native American who finds it difficult to understand what that means; and Rebecca is half human and half vampire who finds it tempted to blend into the human world despite the pressures from her vampire world. This book explores the challenges they experience and the solutions they try to come up with. Great book.

Uniquely Gothic
The Vampire's Beautiful Daughter is about a teenage boy named Johnny who realizes that his identity crisis is miniscule compared to Rebecca, the exotically beautiful half-vampire who has only a few days to choose whether she should be a vampire or remain mortal. Together, the two diverse teens each find their own painfully right paths. This book has humorous twists on the serious realities of being different.

A Great love Story with a modern gothic twist
I thought The Vampire's Beautiful Daughter was an excellent book. I picked it up and read it all the way through without stopping. It's about a boy who moves to a new town and has to go to a different school. He meets. well, a half-vampire. He falls in love with her and screws up her choice to stay half human or become a full vampire. You'll have to read it to find out the details, but I truly reccommend it.

Brians Winter
Brain's Winter Essay
The novel brains winter the author Gary Paulsen produces an absolute masterpiece. Brian who is a thirteen-year-old boy has crashed while going to Canada to visit his father. He has already survived the summer and part of fall but will he survive winter. It is the sequel to Hatchet and it gives an awesome description of the struggles in the winter. For example Brain needed to use his survival skills like to hunt animals, build a shelter, and provide warmth. Brian had gone through the summer trying to survive and stay alive, and he had thought that it was tough. But now he is in a whole new world. It is below freezing temperatures, food is harder to hunt in the snow, and he had to kill more animals for food plus to use the skin to stay warm. As he moves along winter and he gets used to the surrounding he hunts larger animals such as moose and deer. One day he went after a moose and was attacked and hurt in the process of killing it. So he tried smaller game and he then killed a deer. He thought the deer had suffered to much and he felt bad for it. But later in the book he found that when the moose was attacked by the pack of wolves he was no longer in sorrow for the deer. The deer compared to the moose was so much quicker. The wolves attacked and practically ate it alive while the moose struggles to get away.
In the first couple chapters of the book Brian was a little unprepared for the winter. He had felt better now that he had the survival pack with the food, lighter, pots, and sleeping bag. He had felt the cold air and the leaves falling off the trees, but he had ignored all the signs that nature was telling him. He then noticed he could see his breath and ice started to form around the lake. He then realized that it was going to change fast and he needed to catch up to be ready and prepared.
Brian had had a good idea of what the winter would be like. He had gotten many ideas from nature to make his shelter warmer and to have better chances of surviving this winter. For example, Brian had seen the beavers making a house by packing mud around the outside of their shelter and so Brian had done the same. He then realized that he now had a warmer shelter so all he had to do was make a little fire to make it warm. Brian also later in the book discovered that he needed snowshoes to stay above the snow. He had got this idea from the rabbits because in the winter the rabbits adapted by growing bigger feet to get away from predators easier.
I would rate this book a four out of five stars because it is a nonstop action book. It is a great book for the outdoorsy type of person and it is a heart pounding descriptions such as both the moose killings. And the author has one of the best ending out of all the books I've ever read. But you have to read it to find that out.

Brian's Winter
In the novel Brian's Winter a boy named Brian Robeson gets in a plane crash in the Canadian wilderness. He was stuck there for about 94 days now. Well with in those days Brian made a lot of mistakes like not look at what is going on around you like the weather for example. Well Brian did pay attention to the animals like the beavers, bears, wolves, and rabbits. Brian first came to the Canadian wilderness with just a hatchet. But when Brian finally noticed what was going on around him he made things like snowshoes and a parka to help him survive.
I liked the novel Brian's Winter because it gives you a lot of good survival tips to know how to live in the wilderness, if it ever happens to you at all in your lifetime. I also had a connection or to, like when he felt bad when he killed the animals, but you need to for you to survive. I also liked the way that the author kept on making you guess what was going to happen. That is what made me want to read the book more and more One of the dislikes that I had in the novel was that some of the graphics of when he killed some animals I thought it was gross.
I think I would rate this book a 9 out of 1-10 because of some of the graphics but other than that I think it was a rather good book.

This is the best book¿read it!
Brian Robeson is a teenage boy and he wants to survive the wilderness. The novel Brian's Winter is written with great, realistic details. It was also written with simplicity, which is why I liked it. I could understand it, completely. Brian is a thirteen-year-old boy who hasn't been rescued, from the novel Hatchet. So he has to face the cold winter months, alone in Northern Canada. This time, Brian has a survival kit, which he found in the plane wreck. The kit includes a rifle, two butane lighters, a fishing line and a sleeping bag. But he still has to find some food, to stay alive...I liked this book because it has a lot of hunting, and suspense in it. When Brian was in the woods alone, he hunted, and I could imagine that I was he. One part I liked in particular was when he found the Cree, and he was warm and stayed full of food.
