Looking for motivation to lose weight? These ideas work.
THANK YOU, JAN YAGER! I'VE LOST 30 LBS IN THREE MONTHS AND I'M STILL GOING! I listen to your audiotape repeatedly and it still motivates me. Everytime I listen to it, I hear something new that hadn't sunk in before. For years the numbers on my scale didn't budge. The only thing that did was the scale trying to jump out of the way and scream everytime I approached it. The seven principles of managing weight are simply listed and explained by the author. This is not a diet. It is an audiotape designed to tell you what worked for the author(who has successfully lost 75 pounds). At first, I was trying to analyze which principle was the best, but I found that the combination of the seven AND FOLLOWING THEM with a strong commitment is the key to lifelong weight management. Thanks Again. Jan Yager changed my life forever.

great buy!
I found this book fascinating to read through! The entries cover a little bit of everything...and the best part is that it's all easy to understand. It's great to just flip through and read random entries. If you find the topic of sleep even mildly interesting, I'd definately recommend this book!

A very personal story.
ingenious, powerful work... among the best anyone ever attempted to write. but the trouble is... not enough words... add a few and it will be perfect. But then of course, there is the ageless question? "what words shall I add?" Finding that answer will have you up nights with this page turner.

Registered Nurse reader
Sleeping Well is a comprehensive resource book on sleep and sleep disorders. It is an invaluable tool to have on hand in professional settings such as hospitals, doctor's offices and sleep centers. Surprisingly, due to it's easy conversational style, it is equally valuable in the home.
As a professional, I use this thoroughly researched book, (with its convenient A-Z section for quick reference) to learn about disorders such as narcolepsy, sleep apnea, insomnia and restless legs syndrome, to mention just a few!
As a layperson it answers my everyday questions such as "Why does my 80 year old father sleep so poorly?" "Why can't I function after losing a night's sleep?" "Is it possible to "make up" that lost sleep?" "What effect does shift work have on my policeman husband and what are possible solutions?" "How can I help my teenager get the sleep she needs and how much does she really need?" "Can my salesman brother minimize the effects of jet lag?"
From bed wetting to sleep walking, from REM sleep to snoring, this book contains so much information and advice on what we spend a major part of our lives doing, that I, for one, don't know how I ever got along without it! It's reassuring to know I'm never going to be without it again. I highly recommend this book!

The American Express of Novels
Great characters and fascinating storyline hooked me from the beginning. Just like American Express, I couldn't leave home without it--took this book everywhere I went!

Just Try to Put It Down
I couldn't put the book down. UNTIMELY DEATH is just about the best novel of its kind that I have read. It drew me in in a way that even the best mystery writers never could.

Fred and Jan Yager obviously have delivered the foundation for a franchise series of mystery novels. Hope to see Kimberly Stone and Alan Blake in action again soon.

Untimely Death is an excellent read.
Don't pick up this book if you have something important to do because you will not want to put it down. Untimely Death is a real page-burner.

Character development is good -- the people are real, and I can't wait for another book featuring Kimberly Stone. The Yagers' familiarity with New York gives us Left Coasters a view you won't find in a travelogue, and the descriptions are fascinating.

The well-designed plot moves at a perfect pace, and the suspension builds steadily, until the end, when you might discover you've been holding your breath a long time.

When I see the name Yager on a title, I'm not going to look any further. I'm going to get it, find a nice chunk of time and settle down for another good read.

Friends tell us who we are
No matter what stage in life we are in, friends are needed for sharing experiences and receiving support whether if good or bad things happen to us. They are our mental 'lifesavers' and without them we do much worse and are more woundable. Like our family, our friends are the reason for the persons we are and participate in shaping our life as we grow.

The author, Dr. Jan Yager has a Ph.D in sociology and her books are also based on interviews and surveys. She has created the word Friendshifts® to show us the way our friendships change as we go from one stage in life to another.

Our friendships change as our life does. We make friends in our childhood, as teens, as adults, and in our elderly life. We form new friends by moving, change in interests, entering a new school or getting a new job, a promotion or a new sport.

More insights in this book are how to be a better friend, how to prevent a friendship from ending and how we handle it when it does. Furthermore, it tells us about friendships at work and gender friendships.

Friendshifts is also read in Germany!
„Friendship is the most important thing in my life", „Without my friends my life would not be worth living.": especially in light of the continuing „singleization" (I just created this word. I hope you understand what I mean with this) of society, we come to realize that friendship is becoming more and more important. These days, it is very often the case that it is not the husband or wife that we are sharing our lives with, but a circle of intimate friends. However, to form friendships, to maintain and cultivate them and also to deal with the sometimes inevitable ending of a friendship has to be learned and understood.

With her book "Friendshifts", Dr Jan Yager gives us the possibility to do just that! She helps us to take a close look at our friendship patterns, both in the workplace and in our private lives. An important book in a time that tends to be emotionally uprooted. A book for practically everybody: for young and old, for men and women. Because: isn't friendship an universal, an all encompassing theme/topic for each and every one of us?

Anette M., a reader from Germany.

Disappointing!
I was looking for inspiration on creativity following loss, but this relatively small and very personal collection of poems was not it at all. Very disappointing, especially if you pay for the hardcover!

The Healing Power of Creative Mourning
I read this book for the second time this week and found the poems honest and open about the pain experienced by the authors. Having lost both my parents and a brother, I found myself connecting with their feelings and dealing with my own. It inspired me to write my own thoughts and experiences surrounding death which proved to be a catalyst in my own healing.

A remarkable and memorable anthology of poems.
The Healing Power Of Creative Mourning is a remarkable and memorable anthology of poems by Jan Yager, Fred Yager, Priscilla Orr, Seth Alan Barkas, and Scott Yager addressing the universal themes of coping with illness, death, grief, loss, and bereavement. .......................

Slapdash and disappointing
This book combines a book of days with an address book (that allows only 11/16" to write in 'name/address/phone/email', a birthday card/gift record, a holiday list (whose pages are the same as the b'day card/gift record), and a few pages for 'notes'. The typography is uninspired, the layout looks like an afterthought. For keeping track of birthdays (which is what I wanted to do in the first place), I recommend Sally Fox's 'Medieval Woman: Illuminated Book of Days'. Better production, higher quality, and (I believe) cheaper.

Words cannot describe this book!
Nothing like this has ever been written.
