I've said that the plot is very weak, and one big reason the plot is so weak is because the murder of Leah's husband is never fully explained in the end. This is a pivotal part of the story, yet the actual details are never offered and the loose ends are never tied up. Basically, the writing is especially awful, anyway, so no one should be surprised when important elements are completely left out. I kept finding sentence fragments, misplaced modifiers, and dangling participles. I'm wondering how the editors just let all of that slide. I can't have respect for such poor editing. It's also full of phrases that don't make any sense, such as "his gaze touched her features." I have too much respect for proper English not to complain about these problems.
I read the book for a cheap thrill, I guess you could say. I thought I might find it amusing. I think the idea of a Christian romance novel is quite silly, since it sounds like the biggest oxymoron. I certainly wouldn't recommend anyone wasting his or her money on it, whether he or she is a romance novel fan, Christian, or both. It just doesn't work.
