Leomon's Challenge
Published in Library Binding by Bt Bound (2001)
Author: John Whitman

Average review score:

Good book
Leomon's Challenge is where they meet up with Devimon, and they also battle more black gears. The first story is where the kids debate wether to go up to the top of Infinity Mountain or not. But when they're sleeping, Joe goes to the top of the mountain, only to meet a Unimon with a black gear. Read the rest yourself.

The next story is where the kids are on the top of the mountain, and then they decide to walk to nowhere. But then a Digimon named Leomon finds the kids, and he's infected by Devimon's touch of evil. And then Ogremon attacks, only he's just plain bad, so he doesn't need a touch of evil. There's too mouch to say, so read this exciting book.

Customer comment
Since I can't find anyplace else on your page for a book-related comment, I'll put it here. Your listing for American Poetry: the nineteenth century give no indication that it is a 2-vol. set, but that can be deduced *if* one happened to do a title search and got the separate listings for vols. 1 and 2.

I think this would be useful not to say essential information for the potential buyer.

The Nineteenth Century, Vol. 2
Volume 2 takes up where 1 left off, anthologizing in chronological order dozens of poets from Herman Melville (1819-1891) to Trumbull Stickney (1874-1904). Melville, Emily Dickinson, Sidney Lanier, and Stickney are given the most space. The last 150 or so pages of this anthology are given over to American Indian poetry and folk songs and spirituals. While I was a bit uncertain about what to expect from the Indian poetry, I was pleasantly surprised. Those poems and songs are printed in 19th century American English translations, and they mesh well with the rest of the volume

The 19th Century, Vol. 1
Volume 1 is a superb anthology of poetry, collecting poems from the works of dozens of poets, from Philip Freneau (1752-1832) to Walt Whitman (1819-1892). William Cullen Bryant, Maria Gowen Brooks, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, John Greenleaf Whittier, Edgar Allan Poe, Christopher Pearse Cranch, James Russell Lowell, and Whitman are given the most space. There is astonishing variety in here, with ballads, songs, and excerpts from epics; Romantic poems, Transcendentalist poems, political poems, etc, etc.

One wonderful thing about the Library of America's poetry anthologies is that they include something for just about every mood and every taste. Get this book: it will become a treasured part of your library.

Too chaotic.
It's a 17-minute tape, but it felt like two hours. My two-year old daughter enjoyed it at first, but quickly lost interest, even with us reading along in the book. There's too much chaos and too many annoying voices. Maybe she'd enjoy it if she were older, but I still think it'll be too chaotic to enjoy. Winnie the Pooh, Franklin, Brown Bear, Arthur and Brambly Hedge, are so much sweeter and low-key, yet interesting, enjoyable and educational.

My 5- and 3-year-old SONS love this book and tape.
I know it was quite sexist of me to think of Hello Kitty as a "girls' character", but I did. My mother-in-law gave this book and tape to my oldest son for his 4th birthday. I couldn't possibly have predicted it, but it was to become the most favored of our book/tape sets. Both of my little boys just love Hello Kitty and her friends and especially this particular caper.

The Shroud needs a special mineral so Hoole, tash, and zak pull into the nearest planet...Ithor.But they dont have that mineral. But a miner named hodge does. But hodge wants them to explore a cave he found for the mineral. So they go down there, sounds like a fair trade right?WRONG.There is a evil thing in that cave.A thing called...Spore!

Great for people who are familiar with STAR WARS books.
What is "Spore?" It's something beyond your imagination! When I read this, I couldn't believe what I was reading--I had never thought of something like "Spore." When you read about this, you'll probably be just as shocked as I was. This book is full of surprises. I would recommend this book for children under 11 years old, simply because older kids might be slightly bored by it, although this book has few flaws.

Colorful, but basically expanded rule book
This book might be helpful if you either: 1) Bought the Digi-battle card game and didn't quite understand all the rules. 2) Are thinking about getting into the game and are wondering what it involves. 3) Want a lot of cool pictures of Digimon cards.

There are some useful tables in this book, like which cards you need to play to get to the next level in different situations, but they completely ignore all the cards in the booster decks.

The sad thing is that after a few chapters, the book jumps off talking about the TV series, the animated series cards, and completely ignores the game.

A nice introduction to the game, and the checklist is extremely cool, but if you're already a player and looking to enhance your skills, this is not the book for you.

Xena:Warrior Princess (Xena)
I bought this book for my little cousin, who is a uge fan of Xena. When it arrived he insisted on me reading it to him. Being an avid fan myself I agreed, and I think that this book does an incredible job of telling the story of Xena. It does justice to the series and the trilogy that first introduced us to Xena. He loved it and so did I.

Not the Planet of the Apes
This has everything to do with the recent movie and nothing to do with the real book. The real book had messages that were really lost in the recent film, it was close to a modern day Gulliver's Travels, raising questions about how we treat animals, our science and our society.

This will no doubt be fairly close to the recent film, which is okay hokum. Excepting the massive holes in the plot of the recent movie... How did horses arrive on the planet? Where were the non-chimps on the station etc?

Good For The Kids
This book was written for kids who enjoyed the remake of Planet of the Apes. Grown-ups will probably not enjoy it but it was not intended for grown-ups. The book is a nice effort for the kids. The mediocre script for the movie did not leave the author of the book with much to work with. It is nice to see that a new generation of Apes has begun and I welcome the effort of the author.

Halfway decent children's book
I'm not sure what I expected, but this wasn't it. The story is clear enough, but the writing style is very bland. An attempt is made at Yoda's style of speaking, but without much success. The illustrations are not quite right. There's no excitement here, either in prose or pictures.

Though it's a book for kids (my guess, ages 8-12), it seems to me the small size would put off most children.

I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone except a Star Wars completist.
