I'v only read a few pages but from my point of view it is great it really shows the history in a fun way. But for those who see my review its a great book.

This is a great book. I love the perspective. For once, it's coming from someone other than a narrator. It really makes you look at the destruction and chaos in a new light. I live in Chicago, so it really hits home to me as well.

"Cabrini-Green" takes you from the comfort of your chair and puts you in notably the worst housing projects in America, Chicago's Cabrini Green housing development. It describes the vivid and promising past, the failure and corruption that led to it's downfall, and it's future as part of Chicago's urban renaissance. David Whitaker puts multiple interviews with life-long residence, ranging from the elderly to school children. The pictures are breathtaking, consisting of stunning black-and-whites on almost every page, illustrating the humble beginnings, the tenants, and the current demolition of the high rise projects. This book is a must have for any person interested in a less documented part of Chicago's gritty history. But a word of warning, people looking for a more fact based view on the topic shouldn't read this book, it is a compilation of personal accounts, and is very biased.

A fairly good book but crowded with the author's bias towards clinical research and the various regulatory agencies responsible for oversight.

Anyone thinking about getting involved in clinical research will enjoy and profit from reading Dr. Ginsberg's excellent guide to the business and craft of conducting clinical trials. He outlines the entire process from start to finish, made understandable with personal anecdotes garnered from 15 years of research. For Doctors, clinical research can be lucrative, professionally rewarding and capable of providing state of the art medical therapies to their patients. If you want to do it right, this guide is a savvy plan to do just that. A good read and a convenient reference for physicians, staff and patients considering participation in medical research.

Dr.David Ginsberg guides the reader through the complex world of clinical research.The book is an excellent prime to understand the drug research industry.I was fascinated by the simplicity and yet profound way that this author teaches the wisdom that a research has to have in order to be successful in this science.It will inspire every reader to want to do good.

This book is not what I expected. This book is truly Unauthorized, Phil Jackson would not accept this book. It is a book of random quotes that are pretty useless. I would suggest his Hoops book instead. That is a great read.

Whether you are a basketball fan or not, whether you know the first thing about Zen beliefs, this is a great book for anyone interested in the concept of team. In a very entertaining way, this book shows how the principles of team and love can improve your life on and off the court. Plus, you will truly appreciate the success of Phil Jackson regardless of your loyalty to the Chicago Bulls.

Sr Josephine's story of love and conversion moved me deeply. I viewed prisoners much differently after reading her book. Her presence among the most hardened of criminals reveals the power of love to change people's lives. Her theme of forgiveness is powerful, something to be personally reckoned with.

This book is not for scientists or laypeople interested in science. It falls into that field of science history where only the other 3 historians in the field will be forced to read. The most informative part of the book are the figures. (i.e, the data is not tarnished by trite, and insightless garble). Perhaps better entitled "Writing Quantum Foam."

I have found this to be an extremely helpful book due to my interests in physics. It is an interesting philosophical taint on a subject matter which is mostly fought in obscure mathematics. I would highly recommend this book to anyone with an interest in quantum physics philosophies.

This book is an excellent introduction, summary of and history of the debate on interpretation of quantum theory, a subject which demands careful reading. As such, it may be read to profit by those interested in some of the twists and turns of "received opinion". It is not for those who might like their pages covered in equations (- the text discusses J S Bell's elucidation of Von Neumann's errors on the subject of hidden variable theories - a clear case where the mathematics concealed rather than revealed). The book is widely referenced which should have enough range of material to satisfy and extend readers at all levels. In my top ten on the subject area.

This is the first doctor who book featuring the daleks. It suffers from the fact that it was written before the daleks as a race were fully developed so it suffers from some severe inconsistincies. Having said that there is some good imagary like the petrified forest (being a product of the kaled/thal war). It is also interesting just to see where these well known creatures began.

The second televised Doctor Who story introduced one of the most important elements in the show's history: the Daleks, the most constant opponents of the Doctor through his many lives. So popular were they that this novel was published in 1964. Written by the show's original script editor, it is not a straight adaptation of the show it is based on.

Mr Whitaker starts the novel with a variant version of the first episode of the series, although Ian is not a teacher and Susan has a different surname (English instead of Foreman). This version is rather more atmospheric than the equivalent in the novelisation of An Unearthly Child. In fact, writing the book in the first person (narrated by Ian) is an excellent device in this book.

Moving on into the story proper, it is again not a simple adaptation of the televised story. While fairly faithful, some of the deviations (like the glass Dalek) add interest in a way that the show could not actually portray at the time. The Thal characters are fairly well outlined (given that they are quite flat in the original serial), and the descriptions of the planetary environs is also good.

Way back when, Doctor Who books included line drawing illustrations. I've never been impressed with these, but those in this book are among the best, and obviously based on stills from the original.

An excellent, if inaccurate, adaptation of an important story. A pity they aren't all this good.

It is the most shallow coverage of Notes that I've ever seen. I still don't understand how they managed to pack so little information into so many pages.

For example, a new feature of 4.5 is Multidatabase indexing through a site search database. Here is the unabridged exerpt from this "reference" on site search:

"The Multi Databse Indexing feature enables you to create many indices at once. After these indices exist, it is possible to search more than one database at a time for data (such as a client's name or company name). This feature can be extremely helpfull when designing a Web page. As shown in figure 8.21, you must be a manager of the file to enable this option."

That's it. That pathetic, inane, useless, and technically incaccurate blurb is all the info this book provides on site search. They don't even know what a site search database is (its the tool used to actually build a multidatabase index). And the worst part is that the whole book is like this. Uhh... I don't know exactly what this is but uhh.... here's the property box for it and uhh... you can click boxes and stuff on it. And uhh.. oh, yeah, you have to have sufficient access to do that.

Avoid this one like the plague. New Riders Publishing should really be ashamed of themselves.

This book is less than useless, I had more questions than answars after reading it. The book is terribly shallow and never goes into any depth.

Some folks feel it is not a good book, so I went to a local bookstore and spent an hour leafing ... for the 2nd time. For my project [ where there were some challenges, this book came closest to giving me script pointers, though not solutions]

I beleive this book is by far the best I have seen for Notes/Domino 4.x and would be happy if they released one for R 5.0 - same manner....

Great book in my personal opinion..and stands out in the Notes/Domino arena.

The first round of novelisations of Doctor Who happened back in 1965. "The Crusaders" is the third of these. (Novelisations did not recommence until 1973 under the Target banner.)

The Doctor, Ian, Barbara and Vicki arrive in twelfth century Palestine, and are soon split up: Barbara is captured by the Saracens, while the rest fall in with King Richard the Lionhearted. While Ian is knighted and dispatched with a message to Saladin and to rescue Barbara, the Doctor and Vicki are caught up in court intrigue. Given the way things go, one could argue which of them is in the most danger.

Strong characterisation by David Whitaker (author of both the original script and this book) makes this book a very good read (sadly, we only have half of the story still existing on video), and yet again demonstrates that the historical stories were often very good, exceeding the science fiction stories in some cases.

This book is illustrated by line drawings. I wish it wasn't. They aren't very good.

Dennis Rodman gives us a jorney of his thoughts and what makes him tick. Rodman fails to mention the things we really want to know about, like his fling with Madonna and playing with Micheal Jordan.
