A thoughtful afterword complements this exquisite work
Echoes Of Memory is a collection of selected Italian poetry by the celebrated contemporary writer Lucio Mariani. Each poem is presented both in the original Italian and a facing English translation; the emotion and longing ring through the verses regardless of their language. A thoughtful afterword complements this exquisite work. Alphabets of Surrender: They say it's always the same poem that gets written/The way highland waters spray selfsame streams/The way a doe treks el mismo camino in the snow/If not for the imperceptible sidesteps of suspicion/If not for the grave alarm that sounds new alphabets of surrender/And prompts each of us to cry the poem that is ours alone.

For Those Who Have Fallen in Love with Key West
For those who love Key West, this book will confirm that affection. It will also offer insight into what it's like for those who arrive, fall in love with Key West, and decide to stay. The twenty delicious stories include one called "Leaf Woman," by Margit Bisztray, a revealing oblique peep into the interior life of a woman who typifies one of the many young people who swarm to Key West to find the only work available is low-end drone jobs. The cover with the Key West row house with the rooster perched on the railing of the porch is quintessential Key West.

man go man go read mango summers
I have read this book , and once again the authors from key west have brought me back to the Island that I long to call home. Especially Bruce Weiss's piece " Chicken Wars " was fabulous In my opinion Bruce is one of the best new authors of our time , and I can't wait to see what his next novel to read. Also David Kauflet piece was also excellent. Once again proving that he still has a great depth of talent to pull from. Definitely a book worth reading.

Another hit!!
The third and latest short-story collection by a diverse and dedicated group of Key West resident-writers continues to keep a finger on the pulse of this tiny, delightfully deranged island. Their latest offering is whimsical, entertaining and right on target.

Nondenominational stories of mystical encounters
This is a fairly short book filled with letters from readers of the author's previous book on angels describing their own mystical encounters. I think "mystical encounters letters" describes the contents better than angel letters because many of the letters have no direct relationships with angels as we usually picture them. While this is a good book that surely provides help and inspiration to many readers, I personally found several entries to be quite mundane and far from angel-related. Many of the wonders described come down to personal "feelings" and seemingly ordinary circumstances. I should say that, as we all know, God works in mysterious ways, and I am sure that some of His greatest miracles and inspirations are utterly mundane and uneventful to eyes viewing the scene externally. I do not mean to cast aspersions on any of the letters I read; I am only saying that the contents of some of them, while personally meaningful to the writers, will probably strike some readers as events of chance or coincidence.

It is important to say that this book is not "preachy." It addresses all sorts of believers and nonbelievers; there are quotes from the Bible, the Koran, and even non-theological writers interspersed in the margins throughout the book. Among those letters testifying to a certain faith, we find Jewish, Catholic, and even non-religious statements of faith. Clearly, this book can indeed provide motivation and comfort to an assortment of readers, no matter their religion. Since the topics covered range from death to emotional trauma to simple appreciation of the beauties of nature, I feel sure that everyone who reads this book will find at least one section that speaks to him/her personally and provides a measure of comfort, peace, or inspiration.

Wonderful follow-up to Burnham's previous book...
This book is a welcome addition to Burnham's collection of stories of encounters with angels. After the success of her first book, "A Book of Angels", the letters came pouring in, from all over, recounting even more angelic meetings.

I find reading both these books to be enormously comforting. The stories they tell, from real people who've had real experiences, reassure me that none of us is alone, that help is at hand, and that no one need have fear. A touching and encouraging follow up to her first book.

Ordinary people who've had extraordinary experiences
I read the hardcover edition of this book a couple of years ago while staying at a friend's mountain retreat. It was powerful & deeply moving far beyond words. Unlike so many of the books & articles which have appeared in response to the flood of popular interest about angels, ANGEL LETTERS recounts a number of truly supernatural experiences -- not merely the wonderful expression of goodness through kind human hearts, but goodness of another order of magnitude entirely. The letters come from people of widely diverse backgrounds, and are written with simplicity & heartfelt authenticity -- very little "religious" sugarcoating here. Their experiences range from the inspiring (in most cases) to the mundane, to frightening or mysterious; all are fascinating, and it is clear the writers of each of these letters experienced something unique & unforgettable. Thank you, Sophy Burnham, for sharing these jewels!

Extremely fast response and shipment
The response and shipment from the seller was extremely fast. Also, the book was in an excellent condition as was described by the seller. A trustworthy seller I would say.

Very Good Book
This book covers wide range of topics in C including data structure implementation and does them well. It is a good introductory book as well as reference. My only gripe is that his symbol precedence chart is confusing.

excellent !
This is an excellent book for those who have had some kind of programming experience. If u have taken an introductory course in computer science u will find this book to be a gem. It covers the topics that are fundamental to c programming ie the Data strcutres in depth. I would recommend this book for anyone who is serious about learning C. Also check out his "data structures in java" which is another valuable book for those interested in java.

The Quotation of Versailles
This book was recommended as further reading in my History of European Garden Design course, and proved helpful in understanding the quotation of Versailles to the imperial gardens of Rome, and then lead me to research why L'Enfant would use Versailles for the blueprint of Washington D.C.

Elegant, gracefully erudite, and concise.
An elegant, gracefully erudite and concise intellectual history. It is a focussed and yet wide-ranging look at the function and meaning of French 18th century formal gardens, specifically Vaux-le-Vicomte, Versailles, and Chantilly. The sources cited are also fascinating, and it is a book that leads you to many others. I found it quite wonderful, and am looking forward to reading more by the author.

It is a perfect book for kids and adults who watch the show.
It is a copy of the first episode of the show "The Journey of Allen Strange." It talks about Allen's arrival to California when he stows away on a Zelon spaceship and is accidently left on Earth, but is cared for and protected by Robbie and Josh Stevenson who try to keep it a secret. A perfect book for kids and adults that are really, really out there!

Data Structures & Algorithm Analysis in Java
I give this book only 2 stars. This book is not for students taking their first course in data structures. However, I first encountered it as a required text for an introductory Data Structures course that I took. This book is not an easy nor an enjoyable read. It does not contain nearly enough visual aides i.e., graphics, screen shots, diagrams to help a reader develop a mental image of abstract data structures. It is far too technical to be used as an introductory text to Data Structures. It is a colorless, lifeless presentation of a subject that actually can be quite fun and interesting. How can a book on Data Structure be fun or interesting...Please see my review of "Data Structures And Algorithms in Java" by Robert LaFore. Mr. Lafore's book is OUTSTANDING! It has great graphics, simple explanations, a great Table of Contents, and Index. I bought it and it was instrumental in my getting a "A" in the course. I recommend you buy it instead of Mr. Weiss's product.

A Great Book For a Serious Study.
After reading the book, I believe it is intended for those who possess the knowledge of the Java programming language and who wish to obtain a thorough, in-depth knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and algorithm analysis.

I used this book as a supplementary material in a graduate course on Algorithms, and I found that the book's explanations of the algorithms and their analysis are concise, easy-to-understand, and fairly complete. Complicated concepts are explained clearly and illustrated with appropriate examples.

Nevertheless, I would not recommend this book for beginners or for those who are not interested in having a thorough understanding of algorithms.

Knowledge is Power and Painful, too
Well, I have to admit I did not expect much from this book. But to my overly pleasant surprise, I found this volume quite useful both as a resource for algorhythms and data processing...Forget the Bible, this is the only book one truly needs. And it's fun to say "Java." Amen.

Good book
As a C.S. major, I had to buy this book for my class. The author uses concise vocabulary and explanations, and gets straight 2 the point. The best part of this book are the ref. that are at the end of each chapter. To understand and appreciate the richness of this book, you have to have an understanding 'bout the topic of data structure (preferably in C++). The author does a very good explanation about the topic of graphs, the logic used is simple by following his examples and explanation. The only reason I rate the book 4 stars rather than 5 is the # of examples are limited and there are no solutions for the problems.
Overall, I would recommend this book to any CS student that wants to go one step further in the Data Structure analysis.

If you want to leave those beginners eating dust...
This book is excellent, I also own the C and Java versions and I love them all. For a long time I knew the basics of programmin, I knew Basic, VB, C, C++ and Java, but I really couldn't get anything advanced done, I simply got stuck and didn't know what to do and how.

This book changed it all. But make sure you are ready for this. Some have said that this is for academics only or that it is too difficult. You MUST know the basics first! Someone complained that the code is uncommented, Geez... The code fragments are quite short and very basic C++. If you don't know how to handle structs, templates, pointers and variable operations, then don't complain that this book is too difficult. You just haven't got the basics yet.

When you know the basics but need to know how to store data into the memory for the optimal use (instead of relying on arrays for everything), you must read a book on Data Structures and this book is among the best. Yes, it makes you work, yes you have to read carefully through the examples, but that is the nature of these things. You are no longer a beginner in first grade.

It is good to know some math, but if you don't need to learn the analysis (mostly for academic use) then you can skip the analysis stuff. Just learn to implement the structures and algorithms, the text will tell you which are the best ones.

code...
As a computer science student having this book for (dinner) my course in structures and algorithms, my comment will not be of the fool proof theoretical academical type.
I find this book very useful.
It has a lot of code examples, and in my oppinion it is perfect
for those who has some experience writing C++ code.
The implementations rely heavily on templates, which
(will effectively scare away the remaining students)
is actualy irrelevant when it comes to most of the algorithms.
I say this even if our course only covered 60-70 % of the book.
Luckily for me, I already loved templates when I started the course, but I dont think this was the case for most of my fellow students.
The book is vell organized, and it has a lot of "easy to understand" drawings all the way through.
It starts with a tutorial on advanced C++ topics for those who just finished their ABC book in C++ programming
(like Deitel&Deitel).
The code examples are very professional, tight and bug free.

If you are happy writing C code, this book is not for you.
There is some use of STL througout the book, but it does not require you to be an expert on the topic.
I think it has a deep and thorough examination of all the topics, and it covers more structures and algorithms I could dream of for at least the next 2 years.

I recommend this book to all C++ code writing engineer students
(who are not afraid of irrelevant templates)
