Elisabeth laird's The Inside outing Is somewhat of a generic children's book. Julie the main character gets up bright and early for a day of fun at the beach. To her dismay she discoves that the rain clouds above her house had a slitly differnt day planded for her. Never the less Julie and her friends decided not to let the weather get the best of them. Instead they use their imaginations and created their oun day of fun. I didn't particularly like this story and would have given it a lower score if it weren't for the presentation. I feel that the pictures really make the book what it is and without those pictures it would be just another childrens story.

Almost everyone has read a book sometime or another in their life, but they have never read a book like this one. This particular book captivates the reader's attention and allows them to imagine a far away place as if they are in the setting of the story theirselves. Also the maid brings alot of fun to the story with her constant poems and songs. The story is a very well written s tory, for the plot, characters which are almost real, the setting are so real it is amazing. When I first read this exciting book my mind traveled to the mansion of the artist. I also shared his pain, along with the cat's pain and sadness while reading this story. I really recommend that everyone should read The Cat Who When To Heaven. It is a execellent children's book, as well as a family book. So check it out or purchase it please and you won't be dissatisfied.

Anyone out there that can help me in trying to explain with the psychological struggle she went through with her children, husband, career,and life in general would be appreciated.

I have read Great Expectations and David Copperfield and enjoyed them immensely. These books offer a wonderful, colorful cast of characters. So, I thought I would try Bleak House. I slogged through 150 pages and finally gave up! Tedious is the operative word here! The characters were dessicated and one-dimensional and I felt as if the plot was not moving forward at all. Overall, a major disappointment.

I found this the best written prose that I have read so far by Dickens, and it ranks amongst the best written books that I've read by anyone. His assassination of the British establishment sometimes almost made me wince, yet I always found it entertaining and not preachy. I didn't find the plot as good, or the characters as sympathetic as A Tale of Two Cities (my favourite), but it beats the melodrama of Great Expectations by a long shot. I actually found this a far more damning indictment of society than Hard Times, contrary to what I'd been led to believe. Highly recommended.
