Unnecessary
The leadership lessons are relevant to todays businesses.
Even if your not a frequent follower of the Star Trek series,
the lessons throughout this book are very relevant to the
leadership characteristics of a successful business.
In short, you've hired people to do a job,
let them do the job.
Easy, fun and practical reading
This was an entertaining book, combining my love of ST:TNG and my professional career. As an IT project manager, I'm always seeking new ways to understand my job and my people. There are valid business lessons to be gleaned from the stories. It is an easy read, fun to see how the basic concept is wrapped around the context of a particular episode.

FUN TO LOOK AT BUT THESE AIRCRAFT ARE IMPRACTICAL
This book nicely rounds out the 'Crimson Skies' series, but an actual fighter pilot should have been consulted -- in my case, my brother in the Marines. None of the aircraft depicted had good situational visibility, like the real-world P-51 Mustang. Worse yet, the large number of models is inconsistent with the series' premise of an America split into several countries, because of the enormous engineering manpower and production capital required for even a single plane. America's vast warplane production of WWII came nowhere near having this many different planes. A multi-countried America certainly could not.
Not bad designs throughout...
The Crimson Skies Aircraft Manual is a must for anyone remotely interested in the Crimson Skies universe. The manual details the history and armaments of each aircraft as well as any weaknesses. The only problem I have with the book is that the diagrams of each aircraft are far too similar. If the planes were really made by competing manufacturers and countries, the designs would reflect that. Other than that, the book is fantastic for casual enjoyment or hardcore gameplay.

Who Said It?
About half of the pages in this book are devoted to theology for kids proselytizing Christianity. The other half tries to show how history and science are compressed into Genesis. Overall the book is badly written, and tries to convince the reader that old Earth creationism has been proven compatible with science. Don't waste your money.
God said, "Boy, this book is good!"
When this book was written, it was intended for youngsters, but adults will glean a lot from it, too! Bruce and Stan's explanation of how God created the universe is intelligent, funny, entertaining and biblically acurate. Whether you are a kid or have kids, this informative book will discuss the hows and whys of God's creation plan (and where we fit into the big picture). It also highlights other questions you've always wondered about (I know I have.), but were too afraid to ask. Like: "Why doesn't the bible mention dinosaurs or cavemen?" and "Did God cause the "Big Bang?" Bruce and Stan have a wonderful, witty approach to the creation story. (Their one-liners are knee-slappers!) You'll not only learn how humans are set apart When God made us in His image, but you'll laugh out loud at the off beat humor in this book. With Bruce and Stan learning about God is FUN!

Additionally, I found the Star Trek metaphor used rather clumsily, from the continual references to "the Starfleet" (which got on my Trek nerd nerves) to the ending of each entry with "Make it so". I would have preferred more insight into leadership and less attempts to sound like Picard.
While this book was pleasant to read, I simply do not find it that useful. One would be advised to look for leadership lessons in the past (perhaps from Confucius or Sun Tzu), rather than in a fictitious 24th century.
