Making math too fun to resist
This is an incredible book- really more of an activity center. My three year old absolutely loves it and the paper engineering is gorgeous. The book consists of many pages of pop-up illustrations and countless cards to explore different facets of numbers, shapes and introductory time skills. Text for adults gives suggestions on how to use the materials. My son adores the number stencils and especially the "pop-up die"- it pops into a 3" cube. It goes along with the simplest board game ever invented. You roll the die, and move your animal game-piece that number of spaces. Then the animals can come in "first", "second", or "third". There are countless cards: colored shapes to arrange into designs, and 2-D vs 3-D shapes too. Some cards have numbers 1-10, or domino dots to count. You can sort them into order, or use them for elementary equation excercises too. There are rudimentary counting games. For example, the two lilly pads. There are three frogs on one pad, move one to the other pad and two remain. For more advancved children there are sets of basic equations presented as a sort of pop-up book slide rule. There is also a cool teaching clock- as you rotate the hour hand, each number turns from white to red, the digital clock read-out shows below too. There are cards with the days of the week, and with pictured activities that occur at different times of the day. There is even a section with number rhymes to learn. This book is exciting and fun for my three year old and will continue to provide him with challanges as he grows and learns. I can't believe it...what a deal.

Pop-up spectacular... the majesty and glory of "The Story."
"...Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger."
...and the glory shown 'round about...
captured in this divine masterpiece.
The shepherds, the Wisemen, the angels, the star, the animals shown in "three dimensional" magnificience of pop-up!

The Music Pack by Ron Van Der Meer and Michael Berkeley
This book is definitely one of the best books I have ever read. With its awesome 3-D pop-ups,this book is surely a book that everyone in your family would enjoy. Even if you are four year of age there are still things to do in this book! It has pop-up instruments that you can actually play! The book tells you about world music, and also comes with a CD full of classcal music. It includes timelines of various musical masters throughout the centuries. This book is packed with so much information that if you were to read it you would instantly become educated in how to use instruments and how music is created. I highly recommend this book to any music lover, or music teacher. I have been playing two instruments for about three years, and this book is just as fun as playing the real thing!

Great fun with lots to play with and do!
My daughter just loves this "book". It has alot of pieces so there is more to play with and is very detailed. I haven't been able to find any other paper doll books that even come close to this.

Wow! What An Entertaining Book . . .
It's impossible to describe this book completely since so much of what it contains is hands-on interactive material, but I promise the book is WONDERFUL. Every page overflows with movable examples of music memorbilia (everything from a CD player to collectible guitars), pop-ups, miniture books, and more.

The CD is outstanding and the text is equally impressive. It's incredible how much went into the production of this book. It covers every era -- a delight to own. My teenagers and their friends can't put this book down, but adults love it equally as much. My husband is a musician (a rather pompous one, but don't tell him I said that!), and even HE loves this book. If you're into collecting Rock and Roll memorbilia, or if you're looking for a great gift for a rock fan, this is a surefire hit. Written by the Curator of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum and longtime Music Editor of Rolling Stone. Fun!

Truely a fascinating learning experience
Just as the title states, this book is amazing. The hands on activities really do help children to learn, feel and understand the senses and how our brain works. This book should be brought back into print for children of this generation. This is an excellent way for parents and their children to spend quality time together.

always a standby
Our 7th month old daughter has loved this book since she was about 3 months old. Its a simple story with repeatitive words. Its vibrant and colorful, with pop-out figures on every page. It is one book that will calm her and actually makes her giggle. It is a great book for allowing your baby to interact because there are flaps that need to be lifted on every page. It just delights us to see how much she enjoys this simple little book.

Learn About Shapes
The book was very thin carboard. Not sturdy enough for small ones. Also there were too many small pieces and they fit in places that aren't strong enough.

Learn About Shapes: With Flips, Flaps, Slides, Tabs and Pop-
This book is great for teaching shapes beyond the basic square, triangle, circle, rectangle, & oval. It is rare to find a children's book that addresses shapes like pentagon, hexagon & octagon. This one does. Too bad it is out of print.

FUN
I had purchased this book at the same time I purchased the Learning about Numbers with flips and flaps.. I really enjoyed the other book, but this one was enjoyable as well. My son loves it either way, because he honestly cannot get enough of sesame street. The book is very fun, and I would recommend any parent to purchase it for their children.
