Traditional Persian Music
I believe this book (with its accopanying 5 CD's)is a unique and most valualbe work regardign the traditional Persian music (music of Iran.) This publication presents the Radif of Miraza Abdullah with a clear notation. It's introduction by Manoochehr Sadeghi is superb. Accompanying CD's are outsanding instructional tools.

Persian music traditionally has been passed through generations by oral means from master to student. Only within the past hundren years has this music been presented in notation to preserve this huge Persian heritage for future generations This publication with its CD set is a priceless tool for students of Persian music who are unable to learn this ancient and complex music from the masters of this art form.

American approach to IAS...
This book gives the full coverage of current IASs (at the end of 2002) and extensively discusses ongoing IASB projects which are expected to come in force in 2003.

The book gives somewhat different from the European/UK approach to IASs... for example, benchmark treatment is assumed by authors as "preferred". The other major source of IAS guidance - Butterworths Tolley's UK and International GAAP - specifically states that "although the terms 'benchmark' and 'allowed alternative' were retained, the IASC Board has made it clear that both treatments enjoy equal status. The fact that one approach is labelled 'benchmark' does not mean that it is the Board's preferred approach.".

All in all Wiley IAS 2003 is a must buy for all dealing with IASs. Due to lack of current US textbook in international accounting this book becomes more that a reference for a professional. It may also be useful source for accounting students and teachers wishing to better understand differences between US GAAP/IAS differences in treatments and approaches.

Very Practical Book
The book tells us what to do, how to do, and above all why should we do in a particular way. I want to give a suggestion to authors. Just like they have given an appendix that explains the whole scenario of a particular business situation (Time sheet application), same way they should give all steps including coding at one place in an appendix. If space for complete solution at one place is possible only in one language , I will suggest VB since it is widely used. At present they have given this information in pieces at various places inside the book which is good but not the ultimate.

Excellent display of knowledgable information.
Having experience in enterprise solution development put me directly into the path of Visual Studio 6. This book, along with my previous knowledge aided me in piecing my ideas together to form an appealing corporate solution. This is the first book I bought, and the last I need to. Thank you!

Scholarly work, in need of Vol II
Dr. Vidyarthi must have done ages of research and hard work to have written this part of the book. Basically dealing with divine revelations about the coming of a Prophet in earlier scriptures, this book only deals with Bible and the Torah. Second Volume is desperately needed which should deal with Vedas and Puranas of Hinduism. His original work in Urdu has dealt with it.

All in all, a good read, which might be warded away as wishful interpretation by Dr. Vidyarthi, by those who have no sound arguments to discredit or disprove his interpretations.

Reviewing the 'M I W S': My humble opinion
Reading this very work of A.H. Vidyarthi is really an exciting experiance. The title itself is enough to catch the reader and their mind to go futher and futher in the reading. The message is crystal clear. The writer firmly upholding the idea that the Prophet Muhammad have been mentioned in the earliest sacred scriptures of the world religions. Actually, that is what the Quran states. From the approach taken, the writer strongly agrees that all of the world's major religions derive from the same source of the religion brought by the Prophet Muhammad. If not, how can his coming have been mentioned in those scriptures.

Touching about Muhammad in the Old and New Testament is not a suprising discussion, for the Quran itself talks about these two Holy Books a lot via its content. The Quran also tells and narates almost quarter of its content about Moses and Jesus. Nevertheless if we put the traditions and sayings of the Prophet himself in account. The relationship of historical banckground of these trio monotheism religions is well known. But to talk about Muhammad in Hinduism and Buddhism scriptures (for example), is very an extra intresting topic.

Via this volume, the writer covers the topic regarding the prophecies of the coming Muhammad in the Torah and Bible. The discussion is so good and details, supported by very sound research methods. However, no matter how good this work is, we should clear in our mind, all the discussions and opinions in this book is merely the personal opinions of the writer. Eventhough I enjoy the book, but in some points, I'm disagree with the intrepetations of some Quranic verses.

Basically, this work is amazing. I do suggest this book for anybody especially those who love the subject of comparative religions.

Portrain of a Courtesan
Umrao Jan Ada is perhaps one of the most enigmatic, and forgotten female figures in South Asian literature. To date, the question of her existence, her beauty, her scholarly abilities and her poetic gifts remain a mystery. The book is an account of Umrao's life, documented by a close friend and supposedly dictated by Umrao. While the novel offers no twists and turns shuttling the reader into a "what happens next?" frenzy, it is a remarkable and very effective attempt to capture the essense of what it meant to be a courtesan in royal india. The novel weaves Umrao's story with a delicate sprinkiling of poetry, royal societal dynamics, as well as an indepth glance at a long since forgotten profession. I highly reccommend this novel to any enthusiast of Royal India, Indian poetry, and South Asian studies in general. For poetry enthusiasts, and for those readers who are well versed in Urdu, the Urdu version of this book is remarkable.

Urdu literature at its peak...
A courtesans life told as no other than Ruswa could tell it. He uses the very flower of the urdu language to his advantage. It is the passion, pleasue and glory of mughal India and her incomparable courtesans.

Orthodoxy Is Not Islam
This book mainly focuses and successfully with cogent arguments disturbs the foundation of modern day Islamic thought. Maudoudi's philosophy was deeply flawed and this book is an excellent proclamation to true Islamic values. This book gives proof after proof from the Qu'ran, hadith and sunnah to establish Islam as a peace loving religion and not a graveyard for fanatics who ascribe the death penalty to apostasy. Indeed it was the work of medevil scholars which corrupted Islamic juresprudence and continually disfigure the name Islam.

This book is a must read for Western socialists and thinkers who fail to understand why terrorism is so closely linked to Islam.

Deep analysis of so-called RELIGIOUS TERRORISM
I'd like to say that this book is more than sufficient in itself, to not only remove the stain of Terrorism from the face of Islam and other Religions , but author has exposed the roots of REAL TERRORISM in the name of God, its Causes and elements responsible for it, in an extremely beautiful and logical way. After reading this book, no reasonable person can blame the innocent believers for any kind of bloodshed and terrorism. This book exposes the facts we use to overlook very often.

Murder in the name of Allah
One great book which wipes off the elegation of terrorism from the face of Islam which is a religion of peace. Gives an insight to the true concept of Jihad. Unveils the crooked bloody buisiness going on in the name of religion. A must read for all Muslims and Non-Muslims. A real eye opener. I recommend the other books of the auther should also be examined esp. the book " Revelation, Rationality, Knowledge and Truth" which is a masterpiece.
