Aquinas and Analogy
Published in Hardcover by Catholic Univ of Amer Pr (1996)
Author: Ralph M. McInerny
Amazon base price: $39.95

Look Elsewhere
This work is confused. McInerny tries to separate the logic of analogy from its real foundation in being. His criticisms of Cajetan just don't seem to hit the mark. The confusion can be summed up in his statement that "analogy" is itself used analogously. Well, if there is not some sense in which "analogy" is used univocally, then "analogy" loses any definite meaning. It becomes simply the night in which all cows are black. If you want to read something better by McInerny, read his translation and commentary on Aquinas' Disputed Question on Virtue. Ethics appears to be his forte.

Life is more than a metaphor
I found the book clear enough. To those with an honest desire to understand reality on a sounder basis than many contemporary philosophies allow,I highly recommend this book.To those who want live in a well paid soft focus world I commend the previous reviewers

"The startling truth about G.M.'s secret probe into the public and private life of Ralph Nader." Following publication of Nader's book on the Chevrolet Corvair, "Unsafe At Any Speed", Nader first suspected he was under surveillance. This is the "scandal sheet" of that surveillance.

Don't waste your money on this one.
This book has very little useful material. It is mostly reprinted stuff (that is also of very little use). Even the packaging is bad (it looks as if it was reproduced on a cheap copy machine, with low toner). The five star review that appears for this book is obviously from the publisher/author.

Outdated Concepts and Information
Worst book ever on the subject with a misleading title. A combination of old material and sales brochures.

I have never read a book with so many errors.
This book is horrible. It is full of errors (both technical and spelling/grammar). I can't believe anyone would publish this.

This book is junk
I'm a UC Davis student who took the plant biology course that uses this book. The professor doesn't even follow the book because it's so bad. It's unorganized, confusing, and useless for my class. Even some of the illustrations in the book are wrong. Don't buy this book if you just plan to learn plant biology. If you have to buy this book because course requirement, good luck

Professionals Guide to Auto Repossession (Investigation Series)

Get rich Quick! - a how to by Cantrel Chris, & Rod Richburg
I sure wish there where negative numbers in the rating system!

For someone to depict them self as an asset recovery professional, AKA "repo man" in a self center COWBOY of the industry... Dam Shame! And lets not forget the photo copier pictures!

Do not waste your money on this book.....

This book is not recommended for people looking to get into the business!

Free advice:

I suggest you get out your local phone book, and look up lawyers, private investigators, and your local towing company and ask questions, tell them you'd like some information on internship, or ask them how you could be an apprentice in the field... There are a lot of older pro's out there willing to train people, but you have to prove you might be able to do the job, and do the first thing, track them down using all of your tools available to you! I.E., Phone, Internet, general conversation etc.

This book will definitely give some people the wrong ideas....

Professional's Guide to Auto Repossession
I agree with one of the other reviewers on this book. I too purchased this book to help in the starting of a repo service. Although this book contains factual information, it contains very little info for your buck. There are very low quality pictures in this book, lots of wasted space, and over half the book contains no useful info. Save your money on this book. I only wish I had read the reviews before I purchased this book!!!

don't buy it!!!!
This was one of the worst books I have ever read! 1/2 the book had poor information and the other 1/2 was just "filler". They actually put a photo copy of a tow truck in the book. If you need to be shown what a tow truck looks like then doing repos are not for you. If I could get my money back, I would! The author wrote a forward, and if what he said was true, he has no business working for a repo agency! from what he said and did to obtain a unit, he could have killed himself of someone else. It actualy takes brains to do auto repo, something this author is lacking! If you know even as little a 10% about the auto repo buisness then you know 10% more then the author. save your money, go and work for an auto repo company and learn it from them.
