I bought your book for my son's 22nd birthday. He loved the book so much that I bought myself a copy. Last weekend I watched the DVD and was amazed at how beautiful the photography and music is. I went to Burning Man for the past two years and the experience has completely changed my life. I get inspired by the creativity of all the beautiful people that work so hard to make it the greatest art show in the world. I decided to share my experiences with my relatives this Christmas by sending them all Drama in the Desert as presents, so I ordered another six copies. Thank you for everything. You are an amazing group of artists.

Being a fan of "Kansas", I was very interested in purchasing this book and I was not disappointed. This book will challenge your Christian thinking in a way that it has probably never been challenged before. I think what I like the most about it,is the honesty and unique way the Gospel of Luke is presented. It's certainly not what you hear today from the majority of radio preachers. I can't wait for the next volume. Great Book!

I enjoyed this book big time. Dave's point of view and his ability to put things in a manner that I understand are so valuable. Having followed his career for years as a musician with Kansas it's good to see him continue on to use the talents that the Lord has blessed him with. Check this book out.

There have been very few times in my life when I just couldn't put a book down and this has been one of them. I followed the author's life while he was a bass guitar player for the progressive rock group KANSAS and revelled at his profession of faith in Christ in the early '80s. After reading his book just a few short weeks ago I can still hear and see Dave on the outside but on the inside is clearly a heart and mind that the Lord has sculpted into a formidable warrior in his army of believers. His interpretation of the first few chapters of Luke is witty, humorous and clearly from his heart. He writes as though he were there himself.

I am computer savvy, but not a programmer. I had never written any HTML when I read this book, but after I finished it, I was able to put together a Web site. I think I learned more from this book than from a lot of the $50 Web books I've purchased since.

I found this book extremely helpful in re-working my websites. The book is easily read and understood - even for those who aren't "computer geeks". It builds up from the basic to the advanced in HTML writing in easily digestable chapters. I give it a hearty thumbs-up! Gabriele Endress

There are a lot of "The Web's so cool and if you just buy our book you can make a million dollars" kinds of books out there. I've gotten tired of them very quickly. For one, the Web is just new, it's not the salvation of mankind. For another, they always have some underlying motive (beyond making money), and usually its ramming their own web pages down your throat. Taylor doesn't do this. In fact, he makes you feel very welcome as he explains, in a pleasant narrative style, this big blob of networks called the Web. He's not condescending about it, he's not pushy about it, but he is excited about it, and it appears genuine. The book itself details the standard beginner stuff, with some advanced carrots that leave you drooling for more (I know how to do tables but how do I set up a counter?). Many of these books will disappear rapidly over time because of the advent of HTML editors like Netscape Gold, but this book will stick around - there's plenty in there for the advanced user too. One complaint: Dave, stop using Microsoft Internet Explorer!

I read this book on the 'plane from Seattle to Chicago a week or so ago. Given the period '89-'98 that the book covers, I was pleasantly surprised to see the included material on project 'Tempest' (Discovery II) released in 1999.

The author clearly had personal contact with many of the Landrover engineers and project staff for all three Discovery projects, and this added immensely to the value.

Much of the material is apparently leveraged from earlier magazine articles which likely helped it be factually accurate based on Land Rover staff available when the article was first published.

Thoroughly recommended for the Land Rover fan.

It is about the "old" Discovery (1989-1998) and James Taylor is probably the best person to tell us the story of this great vehicle. Every Discovery owner must have a copy of this book to understand the project evolution since 1989, with good information about its changes along those years (engines, gear boxes, electronics etc). There are good tips for those who want to buy a good second hand Discovery. In the end, Taylor describes the "New Discovery" project launched in 1999.

If you own a Discovery, irrespective of the country you are in, you will get a lot of info from this book. The Author has researched it well, and covers all the issues I wanted to know about my vehicle. Some of the photos are great, I esp. like the convertible model - a shame they were never put that one into production - I want one of those! This is not a technical manual as such, but it still has a lot of facts & figures. It is also helpful if you are considering options from other models and want to see what they look like. I have an ES model, but would like to get the factory wheel arch flares, and I know what they would look like... Recommended for a Discovery or Land Rover enthusiast, or if you intend to purchase one and want to do your research.

I travelled Corsica with a rented car. The book gave me almost all I needed - information about the atractions, historical background, cultural interesting articles, and tips about hotels etc... The tourist information offices know very little how to help tourists - with this book they are almost not needed.

How many other guides to Corsica aimed at independent travellers, written in English can you name? Yes, Corsica is covered in each and every guide to France as well, but those 20 or so pages in a 500-pages book aren't what you really want, are they? It would be unfair to say though that Corsica: The Rough Guide is the best one simply because it's also the only one -- both the authors and the editorial staff has done a pretty decent job on this one. Recommended.

Marvelous book - well written and takes all the fear out of going online to buy and sell at various e-auctions. Great book for beginners - it takes you through an auction step by step. For experienced folks it has great hints to increase your chances at winning auctions, plus a very good section on how to write descriptions of sale items to install confidence in buyers and get bids. Recommend this book to all Ebayers and other internet auction-goers.

This book not only tells how ebay functions, it also describes and rates a number of other auctions sites I didn't know existed. It explains all about buying and selling. Definitely a necessity for anyone thinking of selling on the net which seems more difficult to me than buying online. The book also has useful 'insider tips' boxed on the pages for added help. It also has figures showing how the actual online pages appear for various auction functions.If there is a comparable book available, I'm not aware of it. Well organized and most useful.

I've been reading this with my five year old son and it gives very interesting facts about desert animals. It has more information than the very basic books and not too overwhelming. It also has pages about both types of camels, so if your child likes camels, this is the book for you.

Comprehensive and easy to understand. All Internet tools are explained in such a way that you really can use them, no matter if you're using a PC or a terminal. Fred writes in a friendly style using question and answer format. He gives lot of examples and places to visit on the Net. I'd particularly recommend this book for teachers, students, and everybody else who isn't a techie.

The "Creating Cool HTML 4 Web Pages" by Dave Taylor is in my opinion the best beginners guide to writing and HTML for a number of reasons. First, the book covers each and every subject in a very detailed manner so if you're a beginner, or a pro at writing an HTML, all the information is very helpful. The book also demonstrates how to apply graphics, links, etc., with step to step instuctions and picture in the booklet just to make sure that what you did turned out "right". The book also includes a CD which has on it a demo for many softwares that will help make your web site great, and information in the book to also show you how to use them. Basically this is the best tutorial and reference guide, for a low price.

Just about anyone can create a website with freeware/shareware HTML editors that require very little to zero knowledge of HTML. That is how I got started as well. But, take it from me, your creativity is severely limited when you design a website solely based on its appearance without ever learning how to code HTML by hand. For a while I had a difficult time to comprehend basic HTML scripting after purchasing stuffy books that solely contained a list of tags and explained by definition what each tag's purpose was. One day a friend suggested the book 'Creating Cool HTML 4 Web Pages', and from that day onward my HTML scripting headaches ended, and my creativity soared which resulted in great web sites. I definitely wish to recommend this book to novice and intermediate web designers alike.

In this volume, HTML is taught from scratch in an easy to understand way, to give anyone with a keen interest in learning the building blocks that create web pages, the ability to quickly master the techniques. Ample screen shots describing the use of each HTML tag and what the end result should look like when the page is viewed in a browser are printed throughout the book. It is attractively written with each procedure broken down into stages and grouped with other related codes, forming a structured sequence that won't overwhelm you with too much information at once, but will safely take you from the basic stage to an advanced level. A summary of all the HTML tags used in the book is located near the back as a quick reference guide.

This training guide covers many areas such as text styles, creating forms, tables, frames, links and java script, in addition to a list of sites for hosting your completed page. Other enhancing features that will attract visitors to your site include the use of animated gifs, active X control, audio and video.

The CD that accompanies the book contains many useful utilities for the PC and Mac like Paint Shop Pro for example, which will come in handy in making the final production aesthetically pleasing to everyone.

I have been doing computer programming from six years. I have been most of the time a windows and GUI guy. But lately I have been using Unix extensively.I bought this book 8 months back and I cant thank the authors and SAMs enough for this great book.

The title might sound silly, but the essence is 'Unix in 24, one hour sessions'. Unix can be very intimidating for a beginner. You dont even know what to learn. In my case, this book helped a lot.

Highlight of this book is its chapter on vi editor. It is the best example and tutorial on vi I have ever seen. As you go through vi features along with the author, you will get a sense of purpose and orientation for each and every command in vi. The first chapter tells us the history of unix and different flavours of unix. From there the every important feature is explained in simple, concise manner. Telnet, ftp, c shell, basic shell programming, file ownership and permissions etc are explained very well.

The only draw back is a missing command reference. The book has a quick one page command reference at the beginning of the book, which you can tear out. But for a regular programmer, this is not enough. For reference, I have supplemented this book with 'Unix Complete'.

Anyway, at [price] this book is all worth it. This book is going to be with be forever.

This book is awesome. I started a new job where I needed to use Unix and had very little usage prior. I was given this book and started reading it...within a week I was using Unix like an old pro. This book possibly helped secure my job.

I knew no UNIX when I got this book. It was so helpful in getting me started in the UNIX world that I never had to graduate to the O'Reilly books after reading it. Instead the use of man pages and google was enough to supplement this book when I needed to do more serious stuff. (I often find searching for stuff on google to be the quickest way to debug difficult problems!)

So if you need to get started in the world of UNIX, get this book!
