A page-turner with a horrific and haunting ending.
I had heard that SWEETHEART, SWEETHEART was one of the best ghost stories ever written, and I was expecting something like Richard Adams' THE GIRL IN A SWING. Mr. Taylor writes in a much simpler style, and I was a bit disappointed at first. But as soon as I got into the story I was grateful for this, because I really wanted to know what happened next and I raced to the end. It is a frightening story, hair-raising in places but hovering above all a sense of impending tragedy. The protagonist, David Warwick, returns to his native England from the US to visit his twin brother and his new wife, sensing that his sibling is in some kind of terrible trouble. When he arrives, he learns that they have both died violent deaths. The rest of the story details his unraveling of the supernatural mystery behind their deaths, and his desperate attempt to keep the evil from "claiming" him. The ending is very memorable----it will linger with you for days.
Simply put:
The BEST ghost story I've ever read!
Sweetheart Scares
I first read this book in the summer of 1978. From the start I found it intriguing, and was so hooked by the story I read it in one afternoon! I've read it several times since then, and always smile when I see the 'clues' I outlined throughout the book.
I enjoyed the story so much that I wrote a letter to Mr. Taylor, sharing my enthusiasm for his book. He was kind enough to reply! Cool!

I love it.
I got the book in very good condition and it was delivered on time.
it is too costly compare to other titles available
It is good that u have entered that concept of competitiveness and compared data with japanese companies. But now it is necessary to apply concepts of operations management to service sectors more than to manufacturing sector as 85% of the usa employees work in service sector and 70% of the GDP comes from service sector.

Actually 3 1/2 stars....
This particular writer is on par with Simon Clark and James Herbert, two of England's best horror scribes. Taylor is a genius at moving this little story right along. His characters are real and very funny.
Taylor weaves a fascinating nightmare about a family that moves into a relative's house. A couple of incidents with neighbor, John Callow, get them off on the wrong start. He comes around to apologize, but strange deaths begin taking place. Its all related to the RUNES!! I will stop here, but the ending is a clincher.
Taylor is awesome at keeping u interested. The opera doesn't fascinate me, but he described it very well and wanted me to care. A nice story from a guy who obviously knows it doesn't need to be gory, to be scary!!!

very....not good
I read this book in about an hour, and I have to say, it was one of the most boring hours of my life. There isn't one single original thing about this book, nor a single redeeming quality. Unless you want to see how much boredom you can withstand, stay away from this book. You have been warned.
