This book is good for students who needs an introduction to computers. However, it will be most effective to read this book with an instructor close by.

This is a good book. It explains some key areas well, and has useful information, but for the fairly high price it doesn't give a lot of material. Furthermore, two big chapters are focused on WinOS/2, which is not as relevant as it once was. My final judgement is that if you need a good book specifically on one of the topics covered in this book, go for it. Otherwise, you may want to look at other books which are better deals and cover more ground.

I buy this book to help learn .NET to take MicroSoft tests. Did not know book is writen for beta .NET. I did not pass test since I learned from wrong version.

This book provides an exellence big picture of .NET in developing an e-commerce website. It will definitely save you a lot of time in developing a website. It does not provide in detail on how do you implement it though. You would need specific books on asp.net and on VB.net or C# to complement it.

I bought this book after about 10 seconds thought. The title was inspiring to me and I was hoping that it would lead me through Sullivan's methodology of decoration. Louis Sullivan is one of my favorite architects. After wading through the first few pages, however, I found the text almost impossible to follow. I began flipping pages to look at the pictures, but didn't find much inspiration there either. I'll keep looking for the great Sullivan book I'm dreaming of.
