LESS IS MORE!
As an interpreter of numerology, rather than a teacher, this is the book I recommend to all my readers who want to learn more about HOW numerology works, and it is the first book listed in my book's bibliography. Sandra Kovacs Stein offers her own unique perspective on your personal numerology along with greater clarity through simplification. There is nothing complicated about this book, but there is a lot more to "Instant Numerology - A Manual For The Beginner" than its title suggests. If you are interested in numerology, this is essential reading.
Easy and fun
This was the first numerology book I ever read, and it was so easy and fun, that I was inspired to go on and learn more about this fascinating science. But even tho I've read many more sophisticated books, I alreays return to this becouse the information, while simple, uses an economy of words to say precisely what the big books say in a much better format. It's really fun, and surprisingly accurate. Great book to take to parties. Everyone will love it. Thanks :-)
Learn it fast!
This book is written in a simple straightforward manner. It is succinct and to the point. It is a book for those who are only interested in the calculations and meanings without studying any background history. An excellent starter book.

The BEST Technical Readout!
What can I say - maybe I'm suicidal, but I think vehicles are fun to use in Battletech - even against the big guys. I also prefer the older stuff, before the weapons charts started filling whole pages due to their excessive length.
Someone once said to me that no 'Mech can stand up to its own weight in hovercraft - try taking savanah masters up against anything (using one for every five tons of enemy), and I think you'll see that he's right!
Great Early Era Resource
Plenty of information available for both the Battletech game and the Mechwarrior RPG. Color pictures are also a bonus!

The Book of Rock Lists is a must for all rock trivia buffs!
In this book, Dave Marsh has compiled the definitive lists of the best and the worst that rock 'n' roll has to offer. Drawing from his experience as a rock critic for Rolling Stone magazine, he has covered every aspect of rock 'n' roll, from musicians to songwriters, from attitude to publicity. Along with his own opinions and information, he has gathered the input of other select critics and musicians. Irreverent and witty, this book is a great read. No one with aspirations of being a master of rock trivia should be without it. Where else can you get a list of all the best records that never made it to #1? Who else has compiled a list of the absolute silliest band names to come out of the 60's? Where else can you get good advice like "Don't let the roadie handle your valuable guitar. I have a box of toothpicks that used to be a Les Paul"? This book is now out of print, but it is worth the wait to find a used copy.

True poetry
... So take my review for what it's worth.
Kevin's poems are evidence that there is still an excellent American school of poetry. This is not the overly sentimental whining of the angst-ridden. It is not the painful attempts of political activism. It is not the self-indulgent masturbatory fantasies of most college campuses.
It is real poetry with something to say. He experiments with form. He picks a moment and stays with it. And he uses language that is neither so plain as to be dull nor pathetic in its attempt to use shock in place of art.

A mystery of the past
this is the first dragonlance book i ever read. if you have not read any dragonlance books before, i think you should read the chronicles first, and then this book. this is about the twins raistlin and caramon majere and the time before the war of the lance. while looking for mercenary work and some money, the twins stumble onto an old mystery of cats, the undead, and ancient prophocies. raistlin must find the will power and the love for his brother he has under all his hate and jealousy. he must find the part of him that remains a mystery to everyone, even himself to save his brothers life, and possibly the world of krynn.
One of the better preludes...
I liked Brothers Majere. It is, however, essentially a crime novel set in the DL world. I thought this added rather than detracted to the effect though.
I would rate Kevin Stein among the great Dragonlance authors, although I was surprised to learn this is the only one he's written. Surely he deserves more writing assignments than some other DL authors I could name.
Brother Majere is one of the much better Preludes, leaving Darkness and Light far behind. It is a must to any Raistlin fan, and though it occasionally differs from Brothers in Arms, the differences are not too important and don't impact too much on the story.
Read this book.

One of the better non-Weis/Hickman books in the series.
A good addition to the twins' history. Stein portrays Caramon and Raistlin wonderfully, (though not as good as Weis and Hickman, but hey..), and the mystery of the story is intriguing. Also interesting is the building tension between the brothers, and evidence of the jealousy and differences that will eventually tear them apart. Stein is faithful to the original characters, though the book is more like a Sherlock Holmes adventure.

Hilarious
I knew this book was definitely not going to be living up to its much better predecessor, Elfwood, when I caught myself laughing at bits which were plainly NOT supposed to be funny. I really couldn't help it-- the writing is just so blantantly bad. All our old characters from Elfwood were reduced to simpering ninnies, and the old knight, Cedric, had me in stitches with his bombastic monologues about the bygone days of chivlary and honor and blah, blah, blah. Oh, and, was there a plot? Something about a dragon? I can't seem to recall one. It must have been drowned out by my laughter. All I can say is if you liked Elfwood, don't read Twisted Dragon.
