The Enemy of Political and Industrial Democracy
John Spargo, born today in Stithians, Cornwall, England, effectively exposes Lenin and his Bolsheviks for what they were: enemies of democracy. As German financed mercenaries, they effectively became the first mass murderers in modern history and achieved their objective of pulling Russia out of the war. Most of the world bought the Trotsky propaganda deluge and ignored the facts. Lenin horrifically completed his personal vendetta against the Czar for the execution of his brother for treason. Spargo clearly demonstrates that the Socialist state and individual liberty are incompatable. He was an advisor to the Wilson administration in this area. Had the world read and understood this book, the Cold War would have been vastly different. Since similar autocracies are still parading under ficticious banners, this book is as important today as it was in 1919.

The Title Says It All
John Spargo, born today in Stithians, Cornwall, England, began working in a tin mine part time at the age of 10. By 14, he was working full time in a foundry. When he came to America, he saw the same practice alive and well in the coal mines and the sweatshops. This book, along with the photographs being circulated at the same time, effectively began the crusade to abolish child labor in the US. It is NOT a novel but a vivid portrayal of the darkest hour in this country's labor history. Since child labor still exists in many countries, this book is as important today as it was in 1906.

The Bitter Cry Of Children
This novel written by a muckracker, John Spargo is a classic. This novel was written during the guilded Age. This book is about the thousands of children going to school hungry everyday. During the guilded age children were being exploited. This gives a detailed description of what happened during that time. It is a great novel.
