Expand your horizons with Sittng Bull
One of the best books I've ever read on leadership. It gives practical strategies and wonderfully relevant examples. People who read it in my leadership courses love it and it gives them a new way of exploring leadership that is also fun.

The Best I have Read
This is an unknown, but excellent book on business strategy. It is easy and interesting reading while providing an easy business strategy approach. I have a framed print of "Sitting Bull" over my desk to remind me "THINK STRATEGY"

Excellent anatomy text for Part I ophthalmology exam
It is an excellent book to start with when studying clinical anatomy of the eye. I forgot most of the anatomy by the time I left med school. Snell's anatomy book gave me a concise but useful overview of the anatomy of the eye and have very useful clinical correlations at the end of each chapter and I found those were the best parts of the book.

great for optometry students also
I found this a great book to help me pass my Part I of boards. It is also a good reference for the future.

Excellent brief overview
For opthamology exams it is far too brief, but excellent for an overview of the subject when "Wolff's Anatomy" is getting a bit heavy.

A recommendation from the horse's mouth . . .
I actually heard about this book as a result of sending a query to Michael Snell. He sent my "proposal" back with a nice note and a recommendation to get this book. It wasn't available in any of the bookstores in my area without use of special order, so I was a skeptic at first.

I obtained a copy of this book and eagerly flipped through the pages. Not only did I learn that I hadn't the slightest idea about what I was getting myself into, but I also learned that I had a lot of work ahead of me if I wanted to be a success.

I've been recommending this book as a jumping off point for other authors I know looking for agents and publications. This book, of course, doesn't guarantee you'll be a success in your venture . . . but it does a wonderful job showing you what steps to take.

Will I get published as a result of this book? Only time will tell, but I remain optomistic now that I've got the right tools.

Lots of good information in this book
I've been doing PR for books for 25 years and I learned a "bunch" from this book. Lively writing- lots of good advice. You should read other books on the subject .. (How to Get Publicity by Bill Parkhurst is a good one) but you will get a lot out of this book! Rick Frishman Pres. sound advice
From Book Idea to Bestseller is true to its name. I wrote my own book, Making your Record: Courtroom Guidebook for Attorneys and Law Students on sale now on Amazon.com, following the guidelines of this book and managed to get it published without the assistance of an agent. I wholeheartedly believe only because I followed the sound advice given by the authors based on the step by step, chapter by chapter principles, explained in a simple and coherent fashion, I obtained my goal. Mr. Snell and the Bakers come across as down-to-earth people. Their writing style is one in which the reader feels as if they have a personal relationship with the authors, wherein one can vent their frustrations and read an excerpt telling one to be patient...this process takes time. The authors were and are my mentors in the publishing business. Through their words and examples, they display their credibility, expertise, and experience in teaching one how to open and get through the mysterious locked doors of the publishing houses. Having reached my own goal of getting my first book published, I recommend this book highly to anyone who would like to enter the writing business either as a hobby or a profession.

Good Introductory Book
The book is an excellent introduction to Heart Zone training. The examples are very clear, the worksheets and charts easy to understand and use, and her training suggestions seem very practical. Although I found this book easier to read than others on the subject, it seems best for those who don't know much about heart zone training and want a very good, basic understanding with some pointers that can be put into practice immediately. It's not for advanced heart zone enthusiasts.

Easy sensible approach to training & fitness
If you ever were an athlete or just wanted to be, this is the book for you. Sally Edwards is a serious athlete who competes in events like the Ironman Triathlon and the EcoChallenge, and she really knows what she's talking about. The approach is down-to-earth and sensible, with stories to illustrate how it works. Heart Zone Training works, and it's easy. It works a lot better with a heart rate monitor though. I particularly liked that the book aims to help anyone, at any fitness level, instead of aiming at elite athletes. Highly recommended!

Simple guide to health and fitness for every age
Sally made me look at a total different way of attaining my goals . I am not an top notch athlete, but I want to keep my self in shape and tuned to what life is all about , and with Sally's book I can focus a lot easier . Simple and easy to understand are the key words to describe what Sally is trying to teach everyone who wants to live healtier. It gives you that freedom to take what you need out of the book and to adapt it to your own way of living without feeling that you have to run an Ironman , this book is for YOU . We need more people like Sally and life becomes a lot simpler and easy. Great work and I would suggest it to anyone. Thanks a million for passing along your wisdom on training . Chantal

Special Edition Using XSLT

Confusing sequence and typos characterize this book :-(
Granted; XSLT and XPATH in particular aren't easy to cope with, but I did never find the "key" to the sequence of material in this book. Especially XPATH must be covered better, since XPATH are so central in XSLT.

When you also find typos, such as not well-formed XML in the examples, you waste time to figure out if the XML itself is correct or not.

In short, I didn't like this book.

An informative and accessible overview
Michael Floyd's Special Edition Using XSLT starts with an informative and accessible overview clearly explaining how XSLT fits into the bigger picture of the Extensible Stylesheet Language, and the differences between XSLT and XSL-FO. Special Edition Using XSLT then demonstrates practical examples of XSL transformations from XML to a variety of other useful formats including HTML, PDF, SVG and others. Later chapters discuss developer techniques for implementing XSLT within dynamic web environments including ASP and JSP. Flyod also covers debugging techniques and how XSLT relates to .NET. Highly recommended for beginning to intermediate level users, Special Edition Using XSLT then concludes with a useful reference section including detailed coverage of XSLT, XPath and XSL-FO. 480 pages.
