This is the eleventh book in Chaosium's Cthulhu Cycle series. This volume features tales of Lovecraft's most well-known creation, the octopus-headed entity, Cthulhu. Included are the foundational stories (i.e. "The Call Of Cthulhu" by H.P. Lovecraft and "The Black Island" by August W. Derleth), some rare reprints (i.e. "Some Notes Concerning A Green Box" by Alan Dean Foster) and some interesting new stories of Cthulhu in the modern world (i.e. "Rude Awakening" by Will Murray). In any collection the stories are of varied quality but I enoyed the majority of the works collected. If you are a reader of Lovecraft's Mythos fiction then this is a must for your library.

Eventhough, there were some really interesting recipes, the book wasn't what i thought would be and i would tell readers, to stick with "The Complete book of incense, oils and brews" by Cunningham. I found some of the sources within the book sometimes misleading to the readers, such as, "never store herbs in plastic containers cause "they will bleed"?...huh?..have you ever hear of a "food saver". Well that depends, what plastic are we talking about?, cause not all "plastics" do that like the food saver and hard plastics. Then saying "herbs will last two to three years"...huh?..thats misleading too. Some of the best herb companys that sell their herbs have told me sometimes ten or more years are still good if kept well in dry place. Then, there is Musk Root?..answer no such thing, Musk oil..yes!, but, musk root..maybe on mars (if im wrong, then you tell me, cause that would be a first that i've heard of). However, i do think the book has some decent stuff..but, not worth the money nor the time.

All I can say is if you are the type who never seems to have enough incense, who is always seeing/smelling some new, extraordinary new scent and purchasing it, who has been dissillusioned with it after burning it, who is always on a quest for the 'nirvana'-type scent, then this book is for you!

Not only can you discover the secret ingredients for many blends, but this book teaches you how to mix and blend your own.

This is a MUST-Have for students of metaphysics. And all those who practice ritual religious/spiritual beliefs. NO MORE spending outrageous amounts of money for tablespoons of coal incense...buy your own ingredients in bulk at a health food store or elsewhere and then craft your own blends!

I have many herbals, and quite a few on incenses. Of all the ones I own, this has the most recipies, and the author does understand the ways in which to make different types of incenses for various situations. I would highly recommend it for those who want to experience a vast number of incenses.

The price is so prohibitive, no one can read the book in order to review it. This must be the type of book that companies buy for their employees, the ones that will sit untouched on the company bookshelf for the next 20 years.
