The book is very colourful. Full of pictures. But not a lot of "inside" stories. Great quality!

Lazenby captures the zest of the Bulls' drive, determination and heart. Pages of action packed sequenced season photos function as a valuable single source edification of the Bulls/championship season. TOPS!

I have to say that this is a great book that shows you the passion an author can have for what he or she is writing about(especially if the author explains his reasoning, feelings, and regrets about his book to you !*personally*!). Not to mention the information it gives you on otters and oils spills. It teaches you how bad it can be for a disaster of this monstrous preportion to occur and why you should do all in your power to stop it. It makes you sit there and wonder what you can do to help your environment!

I thought "Sea Otter Rescue: The Aftermath of an Oil Spill" was a wonderful book with universal appeal. The photographs taken by the author Roland Smith were heartwarming and sometimes disturbing. "Sea Otter Rescue" is the story of the Exxon Valdez accident in Prince William Sound in Alaska and the superhuman effort to save the lives of the sea otters affected by the oil. The author, Roland Smith, was among the volunteers who rushed to Alaska to try to save these sweet animals. This is his story and the story of the others who took part in this effort. Great humanitarian story.

Altough this is the first time I have a calculus course, I have seen a pretty fair amount of textbooks in my life. This edition of the book, is very innovative; it uses a clear layout of concepts, rules and laws, that are easy to access when reviewing the text. The exersises are a bit simple, but in the long run useful. An interesting aspect of this book is that it's very "up-to-date" with a lot of things, and it makes use of technology for the advantage of the student.

She-Wolf has a secret. She and her mate are on the move, traveling through wetlands and snow covered forests. The earth stands still to listen to their song as they howl beneath the moonlit sky. They hunt together preying upon rabbits or swamp crabs. They are in search of a den. As they near a farmhouse a farmer shoots at them and they lunge into a cold icy river to escape. Struggling to survive, they search for higher and more distant lands far from humans. In spring their pups are born and we are left hoping that humans will allow them to live in their world. Again, Jonathan London magnificently captures the spirit of these great creatures while Daniel San Souci's illustrations reflect the true beauty of the endangered red wolf. In 1987, red wolves were released into wilderness areas. Now over one hundred inhabit the lands of "Red Wolf Country": Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge, Bull Island, Horn Island, St. Vincent Island and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Roland Smith, the former red wolf species coordinator for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service writes in an afterword an informative history about the red wolf. Red Wolves were plentiful in the southeastern U.S. until the mid-1960's when, through the destruction of natural habitat and thoughtless activities of hunters, trappers, ranchers and farmers, they became extinct. A few wolves were found in Texas and Louisiana and, for their own protection, they were placed in captivity and later released in N. Carolina's islands off the shores of Florida, Mississippi, and S. Carolina and , in fall 1991, in Tennessee's Great Smokies National Park. Now there are approximately 100 red wolves running free.

I first shared Amy's Missing with my reading class when it was excerpted/serialed in The Oregonian and we entered a contest the paper held. Being a serial held the students' interest a bit more, with their questions/predictions not being able to be answered until the next edition. The "hero" is a regular guy not much older than my seventh grade readers who identify readilly with him The suspense and a surprise or two at keep the reading close, where more predictable and less thought-provoking works may not

I was expecting a memory jogger, but this was a fast paced marathon! Instead of being a few, quick, easy to read points, the pocket guide read more like a book. The formating was difficult to follow and the font was difficult to see.

I suppose someday someone will come up with the perfect calculus textbook. It's certainly not this one. It provides basic explanations, then jumps to advanced, leaving all the but the math whiz in the dust. Example--Riemann sums--the book showed the basics, then the first problem involved a cubic equation, not even hinted at in the text. And, maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I like a book that has been fully proof read, and bound by competent binders (Kudos to McGraw-Hill for doing the right thing and offered to replace all our books.) The web page, however, is very good.
